This place is humongous, the biggest Planet Fitness I've been to. In addition to the expansive main…read moreequipment area for cardio and resistance workouts, there is a separate partition for stretching, and additional areas for the 12 minutes abs, and 30 minute circuit.  Then there's the relaxation zone for pampering: nearly a dozen horizontal and vertical tanning rooms, 1 red light therapy room, 2 hydro-massage beds, and 2 massage chairs. I've been to half a dozen fitness establishments including the Y, New York Sports Club and LA Fitness, but this is by far the cleanest facility ever. The locker room doesn't smell, the shower curtains aren't moldy, the vanity tops are constantly being wiped. I'm really impressed how PF emphasizes on the cleanliness of its facilities.  This is also the only gym I've visited where there are separate dressing rooms inside men's locker room. Sure there's no swimming pool nor sauna or steam room which I always look forward to using whenever I'm given the opportunity, but for $10 per month, what they do offer is still a bundle of values that's unbeatable. Aside from the purple theme, what I absolutely don't like about this PF is the location. I literally dread the ingress traffic from the Carlisle Pike approach which's often backed up all the way to the 581 ramps, and the egress out of the Sporting Hill Rd where I need to be aggressive exiting out of the strip mall. Given that the best time for my workout is right after work when the conditions go from bad to worse, the stress that I'd have to endure is an absolute deal-breaker for me. If your schedule and/or route can circumvent this, you should absolutely take advantage of this nice facility.

Planet Fitness used to be the place that boasted they were the "judgement-free zone"...well not any…read morelonger. Their location on Gettysburg Pike is apparently under new (Gen Z-age) management, and they did a complete renovation of the gym floor. Now there's twice as much space dedicated to free weights (and half as much again for "cross training" like rope pulls, tire-flipping and kettlebells, to the detriment of what used to be a stretching area). There was also obviously a push for younger clientele, because now it's full of 20-somethings all tapping their phones as they sit on the equipment between sets. It now feels more like a Gold's or L.A. Fitness than a Planet Fitness. We've complained but they don't give a crap. If there was anywhere else convenient we'd leave and join it today, but there isn't, so we keep hoping their membership will drop and they'll get a clue. But instead it just seems the entire gym is changing their atmosphere and environment and driving all the faithful years-long members out. If you've bothered reading this at all, Planet Fitness (I won't hold my breath, you havent responded the last 3 times I wrote), then maybe you need a bit of introspection.

Following COVID19, the club reopened, but we weren't able to visit due to having an immunocompromised family member and dealing with other stresses relating to COVID19 and quarantine. Honestly, the gym reopening was not even on our radar. After seeing a charge on my bank account, I called to cancel and request a refund. The front desk staff assisted with cancellation, but said I would need to talk to a manager about the refund. I was transferred to the manager and told that no refunds were being issued. He gave me some corporate-speak about how they decided to stick with company policy and charge customers for membership dues, whether or not the club was used. I told him that I understood this during normal circumstances, but asked for an exception considering there is a pandemic. I asked if it "felt right" to charge us considering the current situation and my personal circumstances. The manager then got a little aggressive and replied that he didn't appreciate my "questioning his character," that they would not be issuing a refund, and that he was already assisting by allowing the cancellation to occur by phone. We were hoping to get back to the gym once it is safe for our family, however it won't be at this location. Poor customer service and only care for the bottom line. They took my $30 but lost a loyal customer.

Just a bunch of really dumb rules. Shoes... really? Most people do deadlifts in socks because that's what's SAFE. Deadlifting in shoes is a great way to pull the old back. Yeah, I get you don't want people walking around in socks but to perform a movement in one place is perfectly reasonable. Please fix your bikes. Some of us are limited in what cardio equipment we can use. Also, look into a new leg press and adductor/abductor machines. They don't give full range. The leg press forces sheer force on the knees that's super painful. It's pretty much unusable if you have any OA in your knees.

Communication amongst the center is terrible. Everyone will say how wonderful your child is & then the director will send you a nasty message bringing something to your attention you weren't even aware of.. save your time & money. Unless you want your child to be thrown on the playground with children of all ages ranging from 1-5 years old for most of the day with their expectation of them all acting right... They are good at throwing parties for the kids but god forbid a 1 year old doesn't know how to properly regulate their emotions or have better impulse control they'll start making accusations that your kid has a developmental problem... not to mention, after having our son evaluated by his doctor he was certain the daycare was the issue & insinuated they were not equipped to handle children's normal developmental behaviors. Most importantly, the fact that the directors daughter was starting in our sons class was the prime reason he was kicked out after being given SEVEN days to turn his behavior around, A ONE YEAR OLD. The situation is laughable, since it's clear they don't know how to handle the children at their center. While they only had 3 students in his classroom, the new center we recently switched to has 16 & they truly know how to handle each and every one of them all at the same time!
