I had put off going to a chiropractor since moving to the area because the majority of the offices don't accept insurance and want to throw this ridiculous treatment plans at you or ludicrous exam fees. I went to ribley and they just have it all down pat, and are super efficient and tech forward. For my first visit I had to bring my daughter and before I hit the entrance an employee had jumped up to help open the door for us. The restroom was stocked with diapers, wipes and a changing station which was so kind. At the first exam they did X-rays and the sweet ladies at the front were kind enough to watch my daughter while we grabbed those images. I have seen Dr. Tanner and he is great. Soo nice, easy to talk to and he works on Saturdays which is awesome. Even without insurance their exams are so reasonable.

With my level of activity and the physical demands I put on myself, I need a chiropractor who can help me manage herniated disks in my neck and my lower back to keep me as active and healthy as possible. I was having severe headaches when I exercised (leg day should not result in instant migraines) so I knew I had somehow aggravated the disks in my neck. It was easy and fast to set up an appointment with "Dr. Dave," as we call him for short. The staff most helpfully called me back promptly after I submitted their online form. Also, they emailed me the new patient paperwork so that I could literally walk in with it already completed, in hand. To my surprise and delight, I noted as I pulled up that the massage therapist I had booked an appointment with, completely separately, was right in the same office - she rents a space there! Double bonus for a holistic/wholistic approach to good health: a chiropractic office that also has a highly rated (but separate business) in the same office space! Dr. Dave was exceptionally knowledgable and I felt instantly that I could trust him and that he understood my functional goals. During the first appointment he took 3 X-rays and compared my range of motion in my neck. He noted left arm weakness (and that is the side where I have disk herniations at C6 and C7), and a few other symptoms. He took the time to go over the X-rays with me and lay out a treatment plan. I also had an appointment with a spine specialist at Resurgens Orthopedics the same day, and that doctor found the same problems and had the same diagnosis. That doctor recommended a course of physical therapy, but I am choosing to go with Chiropractic care at the hands of (ha, ha, see what I did there?) Dr. David Sikanowicz. I have been in treatment for 3 weeks, had 2 adjustments each week, and am following a stretching and icing program Dr. Dave recommended for me. I am DELIGHTED to report I did "leg day" at the gym a few days ago with NO MIGRAINE HEADACHE. In fact, no symptoms at all. I still have a ways to go to get my cervical spine mobile and healthy and will continue to see Dr. Dave and team for not only treatment for this acute issue, but for continued maintenance of my spine to keep me active and fit!

You should see my guns. I'm also one of those people who sleeps on my stomach with my head jammed to one side underneath a pillow. My neck and shoulders have been screaming at me for most of my adult life. Generally, I have ignored them. But when I started waking up with my feet and fingers so arthritic that I had to spend ten minutes in the fetal position under the hot glorious stream of the showerhead before I could so much as wobble down the stairs, I decided to seek help. Dr. Jason saw me twice a week for six weeks. This cost me a couple hundred bucks in copays, but I would have gladly paid more. I'd say that 80% of my pain is gone. My husband is an engineer who treats his body like I treat my car. People have seen me with my kids in my car and offered me money. My side mirror is taped on. The back seat is generally covered in crumbs and Taco Bell wrappers and socks. There's a gnarly gash running up the back fom where I tried to drive through my garage door. My husband has been going to Dr. Jason for a few weeks. The good doctor is having to work a little harder on him because his muscles are like cement. He comes home feeling so much better! The baby had chronic ear infections. I started taking her to Dr. Matt. He's keeping her atlas adjusted. This apparently regulates immune function. She is starting to come out of the chronic sickness. I finally figured out it was the way she slept in her car with her head flopped over to one side. She loves doing her baby yoga with Dr. Matt! Advanced Pain and Spine has done a lot for our family. Being a larger guy I have had issues in the past with chiropractors and finding one who can properly adjust me. I am somewhat picky about whom I let adjust me, but I knew I had to give him a try after all the wonderful things I have heard! I went in for my adjustment, and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who made me feel welcomed. There was only one person ahead of me and I ended up only waiting a total of 5-7 minutes. Doctor Tony was very personable and talked to me about what is bothering me and then proceeded to inspect the problem areas. Now I have had a issue with my left lower-back/hip area for quite some time. I have only had one chiropractor ever be able to adjust it properly and restore range of motion. I couldn't bend down without a strong "pulling" and "tense" feeling on that muscle area. No matter how much I stretched or utilized a foam roller that area would not improve. Doctor Tony adjusted me and used techniques no one had ever used before. Usually people just press on my back, but Doctor Tony used another technique. I do not know what It is called, but it worked. I felt great when leaving. In fact I even felt nauseous, which is the same feeling I got when my prior chiropractor adjusted me and got that lower area of my back. I didn't realize how well it had worked until I got home and went to bend down to pick up my keys, and that muscle/area was free! In fact I keep doing "toe-touches" because I can't believe it. Everything else is working fine, and I just am in awe that he was able to fix a common problem area that not many others could. As someone who has been to 15+ chiropractors I have say GO!!! bring your friends, family, strangers, better yet just bring everyone! I arrived and checked in at 5:05 PM. I wasn't seen until 6:00 PM. 2) When I was seen, I felt like I was being rushed through the evaluation process and like my Chiropractor didn't take the time to really sit down and listen to what was wrong. Furthermore, I felt like the evaluation was subpar. 3) The Chiropractor I saw only adjusted one side of my body. That should have been a big red flag up front. Afterward, I had bad neck pain for a couple of days and I had to see a different Chiropractor at a different facility to correct this adjustment. 4) I will say the best part of the experience was the massage after the adjustment. 5) I was initially told upfront that the "New Patient Special" would be $95 with additional adjustments afterward being $55 when I made my appointment. However, after the appointment when I went to pay, I was surprised to find out they had changed it after the fact. The New Patient Special was now $97 and the additional adjustments would be $65. Furthermore, they didn't accept my university health insurance, Kaiser Permanente. After the appointment and on the drive home, I really thought about it and weighed the pros and cons. The primary reason I wanted to try this Chiropractic office was that a friend at Life Chiropractic College suggested it. My regular Chiropractor doesn't really do a full adjustment. Just the bare minimum basics. However, after this appointment, my regular chiropractor is far superior. Everyone gets complimentary 30 minutes on a heated mechanical massaging table and then the basic adjustment for $35. They do offer hour massage sessions as well.
