I would warn elderly and those with pre-existing conditions to think twice before attending a regular mass here. Unfortunately, one of the priests forces you to remove your mask before receiving communion. I just got out of that line and moved to another. Very conservative. Found Republican propaganda on cars in the parking lot after mass during election season. Personally found it difficult to focus with all the political talk. I like to find new Catholic Churches in the area after pilates on Sundays and after trying a few in McLean and Vienna, I stumbled on this Yelp page and liked the sound of "traditional Roman Catholic Church". Upon arriving the first thing I noticed was a much larger cemetery than church itself. Several families were lingering outside of the main doors a few minutes before the service but no one was very outwardly friendly. The church is certainly older and creaky. The pews don't have the newer foam to cushion the kneecaps, and frankly the pews need replacing and looked haggard. This church was odd. Nothing was really wrong with it but it felt unusual. No music, all the women wore Lacey veils, even the children, the priest walked in with a hat of some sort which I haven't seen before, and there was a lot of mumbling and the flow of the mass was very sterile and to the point. The altar boys were very militant and everything was severely structured. The tabernacle and the altar were built into one. The homily was also very intense. Despite having many children in attendance the homily was dedicated to the topic of hell in excruciating and frankly unpleasant detail even as an adult. While in typical Catholic mass adults will beat their chest 3 times, adults beat their chest often throughout this mass. I'm not sure if what I experienced was traditional Roman Catholic. As someone who was raised in this faith, this was an experience I've never had before. It was cold and I felt odd given exposing my hair. The service was very long and at times difficult to follow. I don't believe I will return. In summary, nothing was wrong with this church but it was not the typical warm and welcoming environment and this mass is most likely not for everyone. Upon reading through reviews- I found this article: please read before attending https://www.arlingtondiocese.org/2017/05/08/statement-from-most-reverend-michael-f-burbidge-on-the-consecration-of-father-gerardo-zendejas-member-of-an-independent-church/

However, beginning January 25, 2015, there is a new location for the church office and service: 15100 Enterprise Ct., Suite 100, Chantilly, VA 20151. The church is multiethnic, but a very rough breakdown would be about 50% Asian (usually American born) and 50% Caucasian. There's also quite a few interracial couples (e.g., 1 Asian and 1 Caucasian). The church's big strength is community. The church has about 200 adult attendees, so it's small enough that most people know each other. However, the church community is very spread out, which you can view as a good or bad thing. Good because it means people are willing to drive all the way from Lorton/Maryland/DC to attend the church. Bad because it's sometimes annoying to drive 45 minutes just to get to a church activity. The church is trying to address this by creating quarterly community groups that are organized by where you live. Another strength is the church's children's program. The leaders believe that children are capable of much more than we give them credit for, and so rather than sitting children in front of mindless videos or random coloring books, they believe in actually teaching kids about the Gospel. For example - memorizing Bible verses at a very young age. Although I've been attending this church for 7 years, I do have to be honest about its weaknesses. For me (and maybe not for you), it's the church's location. It's pretty far west for folks who live by Vienna metro. Also, sometimes the sermons can be a bit repetitive, though I think this is done because some people are sleepy and not fully processing information on Sunday morning. Also, I don't agree with Mikey's criticism about the ratio of single women and men. I know at least 10 couples that met through this church.
