I come here often to order some ready made meals For dinner. A great option if you're not in the mood to cook. The only issue is the time and availability. You must call in advance to order as they don't keep anything ready and prepare it on call. Last time I remember calling in to pre-order the chicken grilled charcoal but recently was a bit bummed.. I didn't know that it was absolutely necessary to pre- order at least 45min- an hour beforehand. I believe it's way to long of a wait and super inconvenient. The chicken we ordered was dry and way too overcooked. They cook it way too long in my opinion. Recently, I decided to just order what was already ready. They had some BBQ chicken ready and rice was really good and delicious no charcoal grill this time. (3.5 ish for the dish) The grocery store itself is superbe ! A fine selection of food items available on site lots of Middle East items available to purchase that you can't get at your regular grocery store. Got some paneer cheese around 5$ for a thick 600g block so I'm pretty happy about that. The items are very pricey so don't recommend shopping here for anything generic but specialty products are pretty good and worth buying here if you live around the area rather than driving far into montreal/ west island. Overall, pretty small little authentic middle eastern place to check out for sure if you're looking for something extra and different.

I must say the staff is a bit undertrained though they don't know the names or food items iga offers..nor the specials of the day so maybe if there was a manager that can properly train the staff it would definitely make a huge difference! They didn't know a fiew items like (asian wafu sauce at the sushi counter or the difference between bbq chicken / fried chicken it's not the end of the world and it doesn't effect at all my review star but its important to note this for the management team to properly train your staff. Nonetheless, the service is wonderful helpful and super friendly always making sure I get served quickly at the fresh deli counters and always serve me quickly and rapidly with a smile. The Items are always fresh and the quality at this place is the best! Everything here is worth buying .. the food lasts longer than other grocery places I've been to! They last longer and quite frankly taste better too The prices are a bit more pricey than other places but you pay for quality and better service at the checkout counter you have 2 people at all times scanning and bagging your items which I find very convenient and wonderful. Produce : always super super fresh and if they are out of an item don't panic just ask one of the guys and they will bring it to you from their stockroom fresh. The shelves don´t last full long so I suggest you come here before the afternoon evening and weekend rushes. Service: The gentleman are always super friendly and very helpful. They always go above and beyond for me when I need a certain product and I can't find it on the shelves they will make sure to find it in the back stock room and even check more than twice to be sure it's not available until they give you the bad news that they're out of something. The cashiers: what can I say ..they are amazingly friendly there's always 4-5 lanes always open and during the rush-hour they always have all lanes open to serve every customer quickly and efficiently. An older lader with short haircut and glasses (didnt get…read moreher name) was talking to me in the most condescending way after I refused to put the things I had scanned on the side of the counter instead of in my cart. I told her that I am 7 months pregnant and it was too hard for me to lift some items from one place to another and she completely dismissed that and proceeded to check over my shoulder for every item I scanned and giving me attitude. I've never felt so harassed at a self checkout. The reason I go to the self checkout is because I expect to be left alone. This woman was acting like the police of the checkout. If there are any checkout rules, the business should list it before clients enter the checkout area. Its that simple. No one should be harassed like this.

Only one checkout left with a long line. On many occasions have found products that either are on the day of expiry or a day or two away, compared to another Maxi that has the same product with reasonable expiry. Several times staff on the floor have blocked my way, accidently ok, but typically no apology for doing so. I guess the customer doesn't come first there. Sent a complaint to maxi.ca, only got a standard form reply so far.
