Stumbled upon Superbest Photos on Yelp and it was conveniently located downtown. Went on my lunch break to get my passport photos done and what a difference!!! They use professional lighting here so you don't look like you have perma-RBF since you can't smile in passport photos anymore. They also took multiple shots and let me pick the best one. Service was great and fast and honestly the best passport photos I have had in a while. I recently came back to get my headshots done, also very happy with the results. Anthony was great and really made sure I was happy with the results. They have a $49 option without retouching, and a $99 option with retouching included. Anthony actually told me I probably didn't need the $99 option (awww!) and I was very happy with the final product. I got the photos the same day, an hour later and he made sure the lighting was good! I remember getting my passport photos and school photos done waaaay back in the day in studios like this, so not only was it a nostalgic experience, but also phenomenal service and a great business overall. They also have their Yelp award proudly displayed and I can see why. If you are reading this review, I urge you to get your photo done here, this is a great way to support a good local business and there is truly a big difference to what you will get from a LD or Shoppers!

My visit was very pleasant, efficient, and I can see why the high star rating is consistent for this business. Anthony is a professional who has been in business here since 1990! You can see from the many photos, thank you notes, and certificates on display that he is involved with his community and strives for quality in his work. I called ahead to make an appointment and Curtis said I could come that same day. Great! Because this was last minute and there was some urgency to what I needed notarized. My partner met me after work and we both walked over. Curtis was great and speedy. He asked us for two forms of ID and if we declare that what's written on the document to be correct. Stamp, stamp and we were done. Curtis was so polite and engaged in some small talk with us, that was appreciated. Very little is at the bottom end of Hornby Street now, as this is mostly a Monday to Friday business oriented street with office buildings, as most retail places (the Channel store as an example) have shut their doors due to lack of traffic. This little store tries to do it all, with your fridge of soda and energy drinks, your loads of tobacco needed for those work breaks, a lotto ticket (for the dreamer in all of us), and now they even offer passport photos (since Sinclair is right around the corner) and dry cleaning (for the person who really has everything in fast forward in life and no time). Always greeted by a family of Korean's who run this little shop, it's always a nice experience of a little business trying to survive in the downtown core. They also carry greeting cards, and other odd trinkets like a dollar store.

The setup is all there. All you have to do is sit, stare at the corner, get blinded (flash) a couple of times, and 5 minutes later your pictures are given to you in an envelope with a smile. Very nice Korean couple running the place. My 2 photos came to $12.00 after tax. They're not the cheapest, but it was quick and painless, and the service was excellent. For that, I give them 4 stars.
