I was told that my dog WOULD NOT be allowed in "group play" being that he is over 7 months and not neutered. I took him to the vet to get the vaccinations required to be at daycare. At first I was happy to hear that an accommodation could be made for my dog to interact with humans and get out for some potty breaks. I only needed 3 hours to take an exam. I brought in his breakfast and came back 3 hours later to get my dog. When I walked in his food was still out in the lobby.... The employee or owner (unsure) who greeted me asked who I was there to pick up. I told her my dog's name and she said "wow he hasn't been here very long. I haven't gotten a chance to meet him yet." I thought that was bizarre... then what was he doing? 2 days later I received his "report card" which included the photo I posted below. My dog was in fact in group play. Not only could he have gotten another dog pregnant... he came home with kennel cough. Another vet bill later he is okay.... But still. What on earth are they doing in there? How many other "accommodations" are they making that aren't kept?? Maybe another dog didn't need to get a bordetella vaccination and that's how mine came home with it? I don't know but a 30$ stay for 3 hours (including the price to just make an account) plus over $300 in vet bills later. I'm not happy and would never recommend this facility to someone. I truly hope no one came home with puppies because I know that is a lot more than $300. PSA if your dog stayed here on July 14, 2025 they may also have kennel cough or be pregnant.

Calling smoky mountain pet resort they were so friendly and informative. We ran into some issues coming down with the weather and the bad drivers. Calling the facility they were very understanding and helped us out. The outside of the facility was deceiving since it looked like a warehouse. inside was super clean and welcoming. This is a family owned and run operation. There are several generations running this kennel. Their love of dogs is very clear. Our dog enjoyed his stay and was pooped out on the way home which is always an indication for him that he enjoyed his time.

When I dropped her off, the staff came out in the waiting room to meet her, and spend a few minutes making sure she was comfortable. They encouraged me to call and check on her as much as I wanted and said I could visit her during the day. I loved how open they were because some places are annoyed when you call to check on your animals. When I picked my girl up, she seemed healthy and happy. We'll definitely be back again if she needs a place to stay.

She spends so much time with the animals and even sits outside with them while they are having outdoor playtime. Horrible!!! We were visiting a friend in town (we are from Florida) and took our Shih-Tzu to…read moreCheryl's Dog Grooming place. Worst mistake we have made in poor Rainbow's life. Pure butchery!! Rainbow has cuts and abrasions on her neck, sides and belly that are so painful that poor Bo was shaking. We had to take her to the vet in Knoxville (who was appalled that any groomer would treat a dog this way). Rainbow is now on antibiotics and pain meds until she heals up. Cheryl refunded our money for the grooming and for the vet bill but that does not excuse such abuse! We absolutely do not recommend this place. If you love your pet, take it somewhere else for grooming!!!! Update: 7/11/14. Rainbow is not doing well. Has had 7 vet visits so far because she is in such pain and is unable to use her left front leg. The vets believe that when she was probably struggling to get away from this groomer, she must have injured her neck causing this lameness and pain. She is too old to consider surgery so Bo will have to spend the rest of her (likely shortened) life on meds. Again, don't use this groomer if you value your pet!!!! Update: 7/27/14. Rainbow died yesterday. We are so heartbroken and feel that her last days were filled with suffering that could have been avoided if only we had not brought Rainbow to this place. Too sad for words.....
