Don't like when they do that because it's a hard work space and make it's in inconvenient to me. This gentleman shouldn't be doin nails. My 13 yr old niece could do a better job and it was dio. They live in Mineral Wells, TX. I was going to have a party for them. About 17 years ago my sister used to work at the Women's Club, renting it out to the public. This was when Mrs. Tarkington ran it. I didn't know Sandra McFall runs it now. I called to rent the venue. I was told it would be 500 dollars for all day and. 510 dollar deposit. So I booked it. Nothing was said to me at the time about not getting to use the dishes, not getting to use the dishwasher, glasses or anything!! About a week before the party. I was told we could not use the dishes or glassware!! Mrs McFall said they recommend we use paper plates and cups. Then I mentioned everyone was going to dress western. She almost had a stroke. She said no!! We just had the hardwood floors redone!! Your boots will destroy it. I said, well ok. We will be mindful of the wood flooring. Then 2 days. Let me emphasize that. 2 days before the party I mentioned we were wanting to dance but we would not dance on the hardwood. There is a nice sized tile floor by the front doors. Mrs. McFall said maybe we should cancel the whole party!!! The tile floor had just been waxed. Side note: (When I went to pick up the key, the front doors of the woman's Club had blown open because of a cold front that had blown in the night before. There was a Repair man there fixing the doors!! There was dust and dirt on all the tables. And we were supposed to start decorating the next day!!) We looked closely at the tile floor and there were Kitty cat footprints on it as well, she even told us that we had to be careful going in and out because there were 3 cats that always tried to run in. She said she felt sorry for them and would feed them. Make me tired!! It was forbidden for us to wear boots and dance on the hardwood floor but it's ok for cats to be inside. We ended up having a pretty good party. We only danced on the tile floor. We purchased paper plates and cups and plastic utensils. And all the table cloths. We weren't allowed to use those either. After the party many good friends stayed till midnight cleaning up. Sandra McFall told me they would cash the 500 dollar check for the rental and give the check for the deposit back. The next day I called and she said the place looked OK she was still upset because we danced on the tile floor. I ask her how I was to get the deposit check back. She said we could go pick it up or she would mail it to us. So I said would you mail it. She said she would but we never received it. Today I called her, the party was on December 24, 2022 and today is January 9th, 16 days later. I ask if she had mailed the check and she said No. she told me if I wanted the check back I could mail her a stamped self addressed envelope. I ask what had changed? She said normally they just shred them at the end of the year and if they had to mail every check back it would cost them money. #1 it's 10 days since the end of the year and it has not been shredded yet!!! And dang have y'all looked at the reviews? It hasn't been rented, according to their reviews, but 4 times in the last 5 years!! OR could it be they deleted all the bad reviews and just kept the 5 excellent reviews!!!! I definitely would not recommend this venue!!!!!
