The pain I had radiated down to my left foot and I could no longer sit without tears streaming down my face. I had an MRI the week prior to seeing him and my doctor called my and told me I needed to have surgery! I had heard about Dr. Oakley from a co-worker who said he was the best. I was able to get in the same week. I was his 1st patient and he spent a lot of time with me asking questions, doing tests, and watching me walk and more questions. Then we looked at my MRI and he asked me more questions. Questions about my bladder and female issues. Come to find out, my problems were worse that I thought. Needless to say, he said I needed surgery and that if I didn't , I would have permanent nerve damage, more than just back pain. I agreed and he and his staff made some calls to the hospital and I was in surgery that same afternoon! I woke up with no pain and was discharged the very next day. I was only off work for two weeks and then light duty for two more weeks. After that, he said I could do anything I wanted. Today I run, hike, workout and live my life with no pain or complications to my surgery. Cons: outdated offices (but who really cares when they take your pain away) My wife has had extraordinary backpain for a few years now. We've had poor results with orthopedic surgeons before. Diagnosis based on MRI and interviews only, moralizing advice, unhelpful steroid shots and no real exploration of options outside of more MRIs and steroid shots. When we decided to try again to find some relief from the medical community, we did not hold out much hope. We found Spinal Diagnostics and made an appointment. First difference with other doctors: the first appointment and all subsequent ones were within a week. The offices are outdated, but don't let that put you off. The staff is very friendly, professional and caring. First thing they did was look for the source of the pain by prodding the spine. A small thing, but that was the first time a nurse had actually done that. The source of the pain was located and verified on the spot with an X-ray. Throughout the procedure they were careful not to raise unrealistic expectations, but what they did promise was to keep looking until my wife had some relief. The next appointment was a week later. This was to be a test, a small dose of anesthetic and steroid to see if this helped the pain. Making sure they had the right spot. Pain lessened immediately, so one more test later, they went ahead and nuked the offending nerves. The procedure was painful (go for the anesthesia, you'll thank yourself later), but this is the day after and the results are phenomenal so far. My wife's the happiest she's been in years, no more constant pain. No more having to watch every movement to avoid the pain becoming crippling. Walking and cooking again. This is my first Yelp review. I signed up specifically because I want to recommend Spinal Diagnostics to those who suffered like my wife did. These are people you can trust to help you.
