The Tesco Express store on Bedford Road is really handy to get with parking right outside and a bus…read morestop across the road so if you are getting off there you can just nip in and get what you need and its open from 6am - 10pm each day. It sells all the essentials plus lottery tickets and scratch cards, alcohol, magazines, pet food and baby items and always has offers on. It has door security which i like as it stops teenagers hanging around causing trouble (they are known to hang around at the local Barclay's just down the road) and means no-one feels intimidated but this store is not as cheap as the larger Tescos in Bedford so if you want to do a bigger shop and save money you are better going to one of the larger stores on the outskirts of town.

Often half the price of the food in Tesco's…read more As for where it's situated, it's about a 10 minute walk from the town centre, or a 2 minute drive, so worth nipping into on your way out of town. If you have never been in Farmfoods before - the majority of what they sell is frozen food, although they have shelves above the chest freezers with non frozen goods on, as well as essentials like milk, bread and loo roll! They often send out discounts in the local paper in the form of £2.50 off a £25 spend or £5 off a £50 spend. Bearing in mind that the food is already good value, these vouchers make it exceptionally good value. The parking is excellent, I have only ever seen the car park half full. The only downside to this shop is the time it can take to check out as they usually only have 1 person on the checkouts. But the wait is worth it for the bargain food!
