Setup; we were on holiday from the States and the weather was hot. We had arranged for a "walking tour" of the old city and over time simply began small chatting with our local guide. One of the topics that came up was the tourist-trap gelato stands everywhere at which point he paused to tell us of this mom & pop shop just a short drive out of the city center. Apparently they pride themselves on experimentation w flavors and come up with new ideas frequently. They also apparently make all their own gelato in-house. So needless to say, we hit the spot up and so should everyone else. This is the classic "yelp find" and you won't be disappointed. The only draw back is its not on the beaten path so plan your day accordingly. read more
