The atmosphere is casual which might not make it the optimal place for a romantic Friday night dinner. On the other hand, the price is way below what such a dinner would cost! Their seasonal menus are good and well crafted. The slow cooked beef is great as well as the pulled pork. Once you have chosen your "main dish" you can chose from some sides (rice, mash,,,) as well as a great selection of fresh salads. They have enough to make everyone happy. As of last year you can also have a beer or a glass of wine to enhance the experience. To top it all up the guys owning this place are great. Be prepared to have a nice talk whilst you chose your food, and they usually throw in a nice compliment along the way as well! Pic nic is a must for everyone, but I think it's an exceptionally great place for tourists wanting a nice meal and enjoy Malmö's greatest area and atmosphere!

I suppose with the biggest reason we came here last month: Halloween! Vellingeblomman does seasonal decor inside and out, and for spooky month, this includes a (free) haunted house! A really good one too. Okay, so it's been awhile since I've been to a proper haunted house. But I did jump and scream SO that's a success. My other favorite part was the soup buffet, which believe it or not is one of two buffets they had available (in different parts of the compound) on the day I visited. (The other buffet was for waffles and dessert. Wow.) For $12 they offered all you can eat soups, breads, cheeses, salads, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and honestly a lot more things I am forgetting right now. And everything was delicious, most of it being vegetarian friendly. Yummy! For a couple dollars (I am doing everything by what it cost me in murica dollars) I was also able to try a local wheat beer, which came with a frosted glass. I think the buffet offerings change based on the day, so look at the menu online before you come if that matters to you. So what is Vellingeblomman besides a place to get scared and then have a lot of soup with friends? It is a massive home goods and plant store, and to be honest, a bit of a maze! A very fun maze! (If you've been to IKEA before, it won't be too much for you.) With a couple aquariums in it. Like huge tanks full of fish (lorge koi!) and aquatic plants. They also sell aquarium supplies. There's an outdoor walking garden for the kids that has dinosaurs made out of plants. You can sit outside to have your buffet stuff or a picnic lunch if you brought that instead. They had a room full of Moomins! More Moomins than I could ever know what to do with. This would be the place to go gift shopping! There will be large sections of seasonal decorations and goodies. We saw that they were readying the Christmas section, but it wasn't available yet. Plenty of costumes and decorations for spoopy time were up though, and crammed full of families. It can be a very busy place and is very kid friendly. Our friend left her kids at home to come for a day out with us though haha. I am probably missing several of the cool things I did here out of this review, but I tend to go on too long if I'm not careful. If you're ever in the area, this is a pretty cool free thing to come and do (of course shopping and food costs but wandering around for the experience is priceless). It's about a half hour outside of Lund, which is the area of Sweden I am most familiar with. Parking and seating were not an issue as there were plenty of both even with how busy it was. Clearly they are prepared for this. I loved spending half my day here!

Service is equally friendly to the one in Emporia and I tend to get lots of freebies as well when I shop here (freebies, ftw!) The shop itself is located on the other end of the mall (not the one near the train station north exit) and it's relatively small, but they have pretty much all the range of L'occitane products that you want to find. The reason I frequent L'occitane shops in Malmö instead of going to the one in Magasin in Copenhagen is because only Malmö shops has 500ml shampoo bottles and refills, and obviously the low Swedish crowns value plays important role as well PS: Do become their member, although you don't live in Malmö. I came here to get a…read moregift and although it was discontinued and not in stock, the lady working there was quick to commiserate with me and suggest a similar product. She also pointed out free gifts that are available after spending a certain amount and put Eva K. and my purchase together so that we could achieve it. Finally she put our stuff in separate bags, sprayed some nice perfumes that were similar to our purchases, and threw in some free samples that she thought would match each of us. Really thoughtful service with a smile, no complaints!

Don't fret if nothing in the arrays of magazine offers in Pressbyrån tempts you. Here's the place you should go. I must admit that I'm also a book person more than magazine person. Reason is simple, magazines are throwaways, books are keepers, and this is why I love to frequent this shop, even just checking their new English book stocks on the far corner of the shop. Service is pleasant and friendly but obviously the stocks aren't much since this is just a tiny shop, especially the English section, but they do have quite a lot of selection of Swedish-translated books. Go check it out.
