It was only a year old. They threatened to put a lien on the house if we didn't pay within 30 days. We had pictures of nails everywhere plus two different ac companies that came out saying the compressor was damaged. Eff Joe. Do not trust him. I walked out midway through the day asking if something had been damaged and not one person spoke English. He only showed up at the end of the day just to argue that our air conditioning wasn't working in the first place.

They did not leave them with us after completing the job. I did get them to come out one time with one of the roofers and we showed him the issue. Affordable 1 used very low-quality materials and had horrible support when problem arised. For…read moreexample, they used either PVC or very thin aluminum for flashing and two years later it started deforming. When I called, they did not want to do anything and did not pick up my calls. I finally got a hold of the manager and they came and straightened it. Now, few more years later I have more places like this. Deformed flashing means insects breeding behind it and potential for water leaks. Also, they convinced me to replace roof vents I had on original roof with ridge vent and told me it was much better. In reality, a lot of dust is now accumulated in my attic, either because they did not make that ridge vent correctly or else. Another issue was that the color of the flashing was very light and did not match anything. None of the neighborhood houses had flashing this light. When I called them to paint it in matching color, they just bluntly said NO. They damaged a lot of insulation in the attic apparently because they used too long nails. Photos are coming soon.

I was indecisive through which type of windows I wanted and kept asking for a change with a certain style of window and he accommodated and I never felt like a nuisance. I felt his pricing was very fair, he kept in contact with a weekly check-in, and he accommodated any requests and questions I had regarding my windows. Out of…read more3 bids, theirs was the most reasonable, plus I saw that they had a history of good reviews and had also done good work for a friend. Overall I was very impressed by the quality of installation of the siding -- Hardie board underlain by 3/4" strandboard, with sealant and painting. The precision of assembly was quite good, and a considerable improvement in strength and durability over the original siding. Likewise, the doors were installed with good precision, and they function well. I was less impressed with the finer painting of the doors. The basic contract included only exterior painting of the doors in the same color as the exterior of the house. We wanted a different colored door, plus we wanted to have the interiors of the doors painted, as well as the addition and painting of corresponding trim (doors have 2 sides). This was all coordinated directly with the project supervisor for an additional fee. This additional work was mostly completed on the final day of the project, and appeared to be a rush job. The trim was added with rough jointing, and the painting around the doors was amateurish with much overpainting of adjacent surfaces. I had to subsequently revise the painting myself to achieve an adequate quality. Overall, the work on the exterior siding and door installation was excellent, and I highly reccommend Advanced Home Exteriors for this. Finer painting about the doors was a weaker area, and I'm knocking off a star for that.
