So we were in Billund (Denmark) earlier in the day, and planned to make it to Germany, because why not. So the multi-hour drive down, arriving in Flensburg, the hotel is next to the police station, which means be aware of where you can unload your car, vs parking in a police spot. Parking is about couple hundred meters down the street at a public lot, but I understand they are getting a parking lot/garage soon.
The place is an old Post office, so there are lots of old touches, but it's definitely modern. Warmly lit, not overly bright, the lobby is large and spacious.
The elevator and staircase to the room is near the entrance doors, as expected simple, minimalist. The hallways are large, and encircle the property, as at one point there used to be an open courtyard in the middle of the property, which is now the main atrium/lobby.
The rooms are decent sized, bed is firm, but comfy, and the room has space to spread out. We needed a cot for the kiddo, and one was provided.
The breakfast, is proper German, with Bread, lots of toppings, smoked salmon, picked and preserved fish, vegetables... cooked eggs, sausage, bacon, and other necessary foods like yogurt, cereals, fruit.. everything you want.
Honestly, would I come back again, yes. Good location, just a block from the old city blocks, and all things lovely.. yes.
Recommend.. Yes.
