We parked in the City Hall parking space across the street and rolled our bags over. It was a short couple of blocks and there were elevators in the garage and the hotel. It was an easy roll and not challenging. It is a good idea to map out the location so you can find the place ahead of time as though the shop owners and locals are very helpful it is hard to understand their French and most people we encountered did not speak English - though they do at the hotel.

Slippery bathtub/shower - be careful of trying to take a shower standing up. Toilet seat cover would not stay up. Toilet itself had rings of gray cracks inside. Hot water was iffy. What it did run it took a long time to get to the sink or the tub. No amenities whatsoever - not even face towels. I added a night and they did not give me the advertised rate that I got for the first three nights - they charge me full rack rate! Parking pass did not work and they only give parking credit for Knight which is for euros but it did not do the credit at the parking garage. I would avoid this place because it needs some serious work in order to become more than two star.

The rooms whisper luxury, the views beg you to linger, and the Alpine air itself feels restorative. And yet, as every seasoned traveler knows: a palace is only as noble as its stewards. And here, alas, lies the breach. I say this not as a dilettante of destinations, but as one who once stood behind the desk, donned the black tie, polished the silver, and glided through dining rooms on aching feet, determined to make guests feel not merely served--but seen. Today, such grace is in retreat. The front desk, that sacred threshold of welcome, now offers little more than perfunctory glances and programmed politeness. A smile is rare. The lake side view from the 7th floor was breathtaking. Only a short 20 minute walk to the old town. The breakfast was well worth the money too. French bread, French butter, and some of the best scrambled eggs I have ever eaten.

The front staff was very friendly and welcoming and treat you very well whether you come in speaking French or English. The room itself was very clean, had good modern amenities (ie. plenty of outlets, flat screen tv, full HVAC) and was serviced properly every day. It was a bit pricy which is the only reason I'm taking off a star. Given the availability of other hotels and B&Bs in Annecy I feel like this hotel should have been a 10-20% cheaper. Beside that one qualm, it is in a great location, has a really good breakfast and has wonderful staff throughout all levels of the hotel. Highly recommended if you are traveling to Annecy, especially if you are looking for a hotel similar to hotels found in the US with a variety of amenities.

Rooms are small and there is no air conditioning but there is a fan in the room to help you cool down. Annecy isn't terribly hot but some nights were warm so the fan helps. Stayed in a standard double room (much smaller than expected) -- the only warning I have is that the shower is small: I kept smashing my elbows while using it. Breakfast is buffet-style, just your usual selections of hams and cheeses, fruits, yogurt, cereal, baguette/bread/etc. They also give you a croissant (very, very good) when you come down and tell them your room number. Since the hotel is very small (only 35 rooms or so), there is no dry cleaning service nor dinner service, so you will need to go out to grab a bite. The hotel is walking distance into the old town, so the location is great and it is right across from the main train station in Annecy. Staff are friendly and have a very good memory (I was surprised they always remembered my room number). Overall, a good stay.
