There are only three computers and the store looked a bit shabby. Although all of the computers were at least ten years old the connection speed was swift. I handled all of my business within the half hour and forked up 50 pence for my usage. This place is cheap and local, so if you live in the area and your internet is down this is a good place to go.

I discovered the place by accident and boy am I glad I did. At the front are several tables for…read morepeople to eat (they used to be the smoking area) and at the back are several computers and I think one table (which used to be the non-smoking area). While I can't comment on the Internet services, I will say that the food is awesome, especially the paninis. They're huge, loaded with toppings and come with salad and a Pringle. I cannot recommend them enough. The service is quick and the staff are friendly without being intrusive.

Everyone has been to an internet café where you weren't allowed to do anything except check your mail while a nasty-looking clock counted down and dried up your two quid. At Quarks however, you can use their computers as you would your own, with exception to perhaps trying to feed cheese to your mouse! Print from any PC, bring your laptop or use downloads and uploads as you please. Video call a friend in another country and tell them you've won the lottery: they'll believe you when they see you get served a hot or cold drink at your PC. Quarks it seems, is all about the customer, and for those who might find the internet a strange and intimidating place, Quarks should be your port of call.
