From the outside I would have never guessed the inside decor would be fun and cozy, although we…read morewere already informed that it was. When you first walk into this place you immediately feel you are in a cozy place. The greet is not up to my standards, but sometimes you have to expect that when you are not from the country. The decor is an array of photos of comedians and actor's from around the world. Some of them in comic drawings. It is paneled with warm toned wood. The tables set far enough to give you some room to move and privacy. We were informed that there is also garden seating, but due to the cold weather it was closed off. I had white wine suggested from the couple we accompanied. It was very smooth and fruity with a touch of woodsy taste. I had the 3 course dish. Salad, risotto and fish, and finished with a chestnut pie topped with whip cream. Boy, I was full, a shame, no room for some delicious caffe. I would love to visit this restaurant if ever in town again. Maybe even sit out in the garden area. And make room for some cappuccino or caffe. By the way, Birilli stands for bowling pins.

The menu includes a wide selection of delicious dishes for all palates. Our table ordered various appetizers (squid with green pea sauce, veal carpaccio with tuna & capers, beef carpaccio), whilst, I enjoyed (as a vegetarian) an amazing asparagus frittata with cream sauce and a caramelized onion egg flan with Gorgonzola melted cheese appetizer. I topped off my courses with the barilli pasta... Fresh homemade pasta shaped like a bowling pin (hence Barilli = bowling pin) with fresh basil, tomato sauce and smoked ricotta cheese. Others at my able enjoyed the veal tartare and steak special (large steak with 2 bakes potatoes and several sauces). I highly recommend this restaurant for those who are looking to enjoy the true Italian "course" style eating experience. The dish sizes are smaller but it allows you to enjoy more courses and dishes for a better price.
