The signs were all in German so I picked my ball the way I pick my wine, looks only. Once I decision I did ask what it was and the staff said milk chocolate. It's a bit oddly shaped so lots of crumbs or I just a messy eater. Cookie-ish. It's nice to try something new although I wouldn't say this is a must if you're visiting Fussen.

Loads of sugar, kind of hard, not much flavor (other than "sweet" - kind of like how you'd describe rock candy). Loads of bees hanging out on the balls - it felt a little unsanitary (and clearly I should have known how terribly sweet these were with all the bees). Still, I tried because it looked too interesting not to. Don't do it! Not worth the $ or calories.

This boutique has a very large selection,…read moreranging from brands like Zotter, Valrhona and Beschle as well as products from Claudio Corallo and Enrico Rovira. I love the Valrhona tasting set, a wonderful present. Zotter's drinking chocolate is wonderful (white chocolate and vanilla being my favourite). If you can't wait until you get home, then Mrs. Gössler will serve you what is perhaps Zurich's best hot chocolate (a giant portion with a shortbread biscuit for 8.10 Swiss francs). The service is excellent, the owner being especially well informed. The interior design (built from boat parts, would you believe!?) is as unusual as it is original. Was ich toll finde, ist wie die Atmosphaere des Cafes nicht viel ueber etwa 50 Jahre geaendert hat. Jedes Mal, das ich beim Hansa eine Tasse Kaffee trinke, fuehle ich mich immer noch wie die Studentin, die in den 90ern in Tue studiert hat und damals Hansa 'entdeckt' hat. Hansa bietet alle Kaffee-und Tee Geraete an, die es wohl gibt. Was mir am besten dieses Mal gefaellt hat, war der italienische Kaffeetopf, dessen "Kopf" aus Porzellan besteht. Klasse! Man kann auch Kaffeebohnen (oder gemahlenen Kaffee) kaufen. Das Hansa ist wirklich etwas Besonderes. Geht ihr doch mal hin!

I tried this fun thing called Hausgemachtes Öpfelchüechli mit Vanillesauce ... which is basically like fried apple rings with vanilla sauce. It was pretty decent, and not too heavy, but nothing to write home about. Also, I know Europeans have a different pace of life, but I kept trying to get the waiters attention (since we were in a bit of a rush) and he kept kinda just ignoring me or giving me one of those "yeah, yeah get back in your seat and i'll get to you when I get to you" kinda looks. Wasn't much appreciated. Anyway, I haven't really had their food here, so maybe that might win me over ... if I'm ever in the area again! Stay Cheerful ;)
