We grabbed a really cute table between the umbrellas and antique tea cups. I loved that this was an antique shop and breakfast joint! To be honest, I wasn't really sure what I was ordering but we pointed to a couple of items (turns out something like a potato quiche as well as a pastry) and asked them to be warmed. I also got a cappuccino. The coffee was fine, the quiche was so good! My husband and I argued over who got to take the last bite! I won obviously. But we should have just ordered a second! Definitely worth a stop if you're looking for a quick bite and a cute place to shop.

Their coffee and dark hot chocolate were delicious and the staff was very friendly. The café is located close to the lake and other local shops.

We opted for the four course menu for one, all of which was very good. Best in class! We also had the eggplant appetizer and white asparagus with the catch of the day, both also best in class! We both had the erdbeer white chocolate-strawberry dessert ... delicious. We had a local bottle of wine recommended by Claudia, our waitress! Great rec! She did a great job! Fantastic place, fantastic views... The MAJOR problem was we are from the US. The restaurant's credit card machine doesn't work on cards from the US. Apparently, cards from Switzerland don't work either! A call to the owner solved nothing. They offered to wait while I went to an ATM to get cash. Not a good solution when I'm in a foreign country with no familiar banks within 100 kms! Fortunately, I had enough Euros to cover the tab, with a few to spare. They obviously knew we were from the US when we walked in, but waited until the the bill was presented to tell us about the issue with the credit card reader. A perfect experience ruined in the last 15 minutes. What a shame. REALLY bad form! We won't go back, and recommend all from the US avoid the restaurant (unless you bring cash to cover the bill). We planned on coming back to stay at the hotel, those plans canceled too!

This place is by far my favorite establishment in FN…read more The book store section is alway updating and staying very current. The displays are always beautiful and intriguing. The coffee area is my favorite part. The ambiance is absolutely perfect and allows for a great time. The coffees and small eats are always delicious. If they have the daily special of chili con carne I would definetly suggest it! Also you can get a great Irish coffee. The staff is always very friendly and if they cannot speak English they are always friendly and accommodating. Overall, I would say frikken awesome. I wish I had a Gessler in my hometown.
