You can really do all your shopping here if you want. The staff is friendly, but I expected a bit more of enthusiasm, the store is brand new so a bit of more joy would be nice :) The great thing is here, you can taste everything. They have at every corner something to try out. I ended up buying more then what I was looking for. Really happy they made it till the city !

There's also fresh or refrigerated things --- a few boxes of veggies, a small meat case, and a sizable cheese case (we are in Switzerland, after all). You won't find everything you need for the week, but what they have is good. The other thirds is a mix of organic cotton shirts, handknit wool hats, artsy greeting cards, and wooden children's toys. Nice little cottage industry. When I say cute, that's only inside (on the right side of the heavy glass windows) --- outside, you're right on the central intersection at Meierhofplatz. Get your bags and wallet sorted before you head out the door, because the busses take the corner a bit tight.

My first impression was that all the produce looked amazing --- the loose salad greens reminded me of Berkeley, California instead of Kreis 10. The bread wall was a little nicer than the local Coop or Migros, but shared many of the same items. Juices, grains, and nuts all had more than usual --- and were all nicely presented. One of my shopping list items didn't show up: decaf black tea. (The local favorite koffeinfrei / decaffinato "Tee Infré" is fine, but nothing special --- I was hoping for some Twinings, or Bigelow, or something local but more robust than Infré). There wasn't anything. Herbal, Chai, green, black --- but no decaf black. And, because this is all-Bio, I couldn't restock on Infré, either. Upsides: The produce is good, the packaged goods are well selected, the aisles are wide and easy to navigate (at least for now). When you want almond milk, it's not a hunt; everything's right at hand. So, the downsides: First, the Coop PR line is at least mostly right --- there's not all that many things here that you couldn't find in a larger Coop if you looked for the Bio label. Second, I still don't understand giving over a good stretch of wall to fancy cosmetics. And with the decaf tea, it's not a one-stop shop. Overall: Good, but not changing the face of Bio produce in Kreis 10.

Great spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and desserts (healthy sweets; refined sugar free) They offer three lunch menus (bring your own container and get a discount), wraps, salads, sandwiches.. Açai bowls and different kinds of porridge. They serve great coffee too and you can even choose what milk you want to get (almond, rice, soy..) There's a cute organic shop in the back of the store, where you can buy all kind of amazing things: huge variety of flours (many gluten free options), wine and beer, superfoods, soaps, candles.. Get prepared it might be busy during lunch time, and there are just a few seats in the back. Klara and her man Eric are very welcoming and generous! Right next to the new tram 4 end station, to various bus lines and the train station, this new grocery store from coop will for sure become popular. This store is not a Coop Pronto but it's also not a "full" Coop. I mean you will find most of the bestsellers of this chain but in limited quantities. It's like an in between! One very good thing is, they offer a nice selection of take away meals, warm and cold. This is quite practical for those working in the area who do not want to spend too much time in a restaurant. In the morning you can buy Gipfelis and fresh coffee on your way to work. To note that it's also open 6 days a week and on Saturday they close at 22:00, which is quite interesting for everybody commuting via the Bahnhof Altstetten.
