The Frog's House - Sunrise from my balcony

The Frog's House was found accidentally through some sort of online research I was doing online…read more Things happen for a reason, the combination of hosts, location and actual accommodation have been beyond anything I expected and truly a high point of our three week trip! Benoit and Corrine have been a pure pleasure to spend time with. Our total experience has been a "WOW" from the first contact and every touch point since. We were staying in Nice and needed to get to the Frog's House, Benoit arranged to pick us up right across the street from where we were and managed to include us in his walking tour of old Nice. The tour had all the elements of a great walking tour. It was a comfortable pace, with lots of very interesting factoids about streets, buildings and city vistas. Throw in a lunch and you have a great combination of services. We will be back to spend more time here!

This was the first time I had travelled alone and was a little nervous of how it would go--but there was nothing to be nervous about!! I had so much fun I went at the very beginning of the season so there weren't many other visitors at first but it was completely fine as Benoit and Corrine felt like old friends rather than tour guides. And later in my stay when more visitors came, they were so friendly and nice!! It appears that great people are naturally attracted to staying here I highly recommend booking a room with a sea view, watching the sunrise from my balcony was breathtaking The Frog's House was an overall amazing place and filled with such a great, positive energy!!! :)

A lovely hotel with nice staff! My one complaint is that this is not in town and kind of isolated…read more When we arrived for single night stay, we were really pleased with the whole place. Our rooms were ready and my large group of 39 quickly went and settled in. The lobby is REALLY cool. Each part of the lobby is beautifully decorated in a whimsical fashion. There is a small circular bar in the lobby. Every part of the hotel is cute, recently updated and decorated. The front desk staff were very nice and agreed to let us stay in the pool until 10pm if we promised not to be too loud. I appreciated their flexibility. The pool is really nice and clean, but a little strange as it doesn't have any stairs/steps and only ladders. We enjoyed sitting around the pool after our swim in the comfy poolside furniture. We just wished that the hot tub was functioning. Our rooms were nicely appointed and comfortable. They had cute balconies, good AC, and large bathrooms. I loved that they had free Wi-Fi, you just have to ask the front desk for a code. We also enjoyed our breakfast in the cute breakfast nook. This hotel has a lot going for it! This is the only hotel I've ever stayed in that has a hanging hamster ball seat in the lobby. This is one cool hotel.

Having said that the rooms are quite large and have balconies where you can sit out and enjoy the views of tree lined hillsides at the back of the hotel. This is the quieter side where there really is no noise despite being about 80 yards from a fairly busy road. Access to Nice is an easy 20-25 minutes drive. There s also a pool and ping pong table for your enjoyment. There is a restaurant in the hotel grounds which has a nice outdoor patio. The food is good. Near the entrance to the hotel there is a neighborhood bar which appears a bit rough but the pizza is good. We stayed here for a week and used it as a base to visit Nice, Cannes, Antibes and St Tropez (the furthest away, 2 hours). The hotel was good, beds very comfortable, large bathroom, but the shower is inside a tub which I find less easy to use. They supplied clean towels daily. Included breakfast was really substantial with a choice of eggs, cereals, breads, and really fresh pastries baked daily. Various juices, mineral water and milk all provided. Yes it is a little distance to Nice but far better value than you will find there. We stayed a couple of nights in Nice and it cost double and was noisy. The staff are very friendly and speak reasonable English.

A mind-numbingly expensive place with a commanding view over the town…read more Quite magnificent though! We were lucky enough to be ungraded to a suite and were treated, and felt, like royalty! The main restaurant is a gourmet's paradise, and the staff almost too attentive even a little table for my wife's handbag!

Not only once but twice each just because we wanted to give it a second chance. Both have a very good service. Le St Martin is a classy restaurant with a gorgeous view. L'oliveraie is just a lovely outdoor brunch/lunch restaurant. The only problem is that the food is just terrible! At the gastro, nothing original in the menu to begin with. Nice wine selection though! Totally NOT impressed with their "mise en bouche" (veggie soup) and their beef fillet was everything but a fillet. Hard and barely edible. So let's not call this a gastro anymore please or less they change the chef! As per L'oliveraie, every dish was a disaster. I thought it would be hard to mess up a club sandwich but yes, they managed to ruin this as well! I would advise the group to really think about hiring a good chef that knows what he's doing because even in a such gorgeous place, people would easily run away or simply never go back. This is in France, one of the best cuisine in the world. C'mon!
