A dream! My husband…read moreand I spent our honeymoon here and it was perfection. Beautiful and serene in the lovely and quaint village of Mougins. We were able to truly and completely relax. We took advantage of all the amenities the resort had to offer. We had espresso on our beautiful balcony every morning. Listened to the birds and watching the sunlight stream through the trees. We were able to step outside our door to the pool and swim in luxurious surroundings. We attended a champagne toast with hotel management on Thursday evening which was lovely. We lounged and napped in the large swing chairs. We relaxed in the sauna in the tranquil Japanese garden. Our room was large and pristine. The staff was excellent and attended to our every need. We booked a less expensive room and they were kind enough to upgrade us because it was our honeymoon. We both got massages and facials at the Sheisido spa and then we enjoyed the relaxation room with tea afterwards. Heavenly. To finish our week, we had dinner at the Michelin starred restaurant La Candille. The flavors and complexity of the dishes I have never experienced before! Excellent service as well. An establishment deserving of the Michelin star. Thank you Le Mas Candille! My honeymoon was a dream come true!

Fantastic! A delightful experience, that encompasses the visual & olfactory in every way!…read more Creative, inventive menu(s), exceptional wine list (with comprehensive by-the-glass offerings), terrific service, and a stunning setting! Truly a must-visit. One note: Le Mas Candille is an estate encompassing a hotel & two separate restaurants. The signage to the Mas Candille restaurant isn't great, so make sure you don't park at the top. On the other hand, its a lively experience walking through the estate... Go, & enjoy!

Disappointing Health & Hygiene Failure -- Management Refused to Address Medical Costs!…read more We chose the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes for its reputation for impeccable luxury and service during our multi-week, exclusively five-star European trip (09/22/25-10/10/25). Unfortunately, our stay was severely marred by a serious health and hygiene issue, which was then compounded by a deeply unsatisfactory response from management. On morning of Oct 4th 2025 my wife, Kelly , suffered multiple insect bites of unknown origin while sleeping in the bedding of our room number 724. The bites were serious enough to cause significant distress, lost sleep, and required immediate medical attention. The hotel arranged for a physician to visit, who confirmed the presence of insect bites and prescribed a course of strong medication, including Ivermectin (an antiparasitic drug), along with topical Cortisone. This required us to pay for the medical consultation and prescription out-of-pocket, expenses we would not have incurred otherwise. While the Guest Relations team did facilitate a room change, the General Manager, Mr. Charles Richez, later formally refused all requests for compensation, including reimbursement for the required medical expenses. The GM cited a lack of "conclusive evidence" (despite the documented physician's report and strong prescriptions) and offered a vague, future-use complimentary upgrade instead of resolving the current financial and physical harm. For a hotel that prides itself on luxury, this failure is unacceptable. The issue is not just the presence of a biting insect that caused physical distress, but the complete failure of the General Manager to take accountability and resolve the tangible out-of-pocket costs resulting from a health hazard on their property. I invite all future guests before choosing to stay at this hotel, to take a look at the pics taken on 10/04 and 10/07/2025 to decide themself what it looks like! Do you really want to take this risk for yourself and your family? Prospective guests should be aware that if a serious issue arises, management prioritizes denying financial liability over supporting their high-value clientele.

The hotel had French provincial charm, and the grounds were beautiful. The rooms were clean, air conditioned, a good size, chaming and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is only a short drive from the quaint village of Valbonne and also close to Mougines, Antibes, and Grasse, The 12 Euro breakfast was very good with a big selection. The pool was great for cooling off and very pleasant. La Bastide has on site parking and a super friendly stafff. They put up with my miserable French and they also spoke very good English. The place has that wonderful lavender smell that is so nice in Provence. Ask for a room that does not face the street if you want a little more quiet. We loved this place and if we go back to this region, we would definitely stay there again.

For any small independent hotel in France, long experience suggests a number of potential generic…read moreshortfalls that will Peeve the frequent traveller used to the conveniences of large modern chain hotels, typically: - Small rooms - Limited parking, often only suited to small cars - If Air Conditioning is provided, the older and/or cheaper "Single Mode" / "Two Pipe" centrally controlled types (i.e. typically "heat only" in winter, "cool only" in summer), which can be problematic in variable Spring and Autumn weather - "Valuables" rather than "laptop" sized room safes So against that backdrop, how does the Bastide fare? Well, the rooms are relatively large, reasonably furnished with modernised bathrooms, and some have views over the pool. The rooms do have safes, but do suffer from the "not laptop sized" Peeve. It is well presented and maintained, and is in pleasant grounds, but does fall victim to the limited amount of parking provision Peeve (but not the car size problem) if the property is full. The service is good and friendly, with staff fluent in English. The WiFi service is free for up to 2 devices / room, and runs at a reasonable bandwidth. But the air conditioning in the current main building is a Two Pipe offering which is run on Heat Only October-April, so the FCUs (Fan Coil Units) blow hot air in Warm Springs or Indian Summers (I'm told the additional Suite rooms being built for completion sometime in 2013 will have individual air conditioning units which will avoid this Peeve for that part of the hotel in future). The parking and air conditioning limitations impacted on me during a visit in April 2013, so although in many ways I quite like the property, I can't really award more than 3* on balance.
