Formidable ! I love this little 10 room boutique hotel in Quartier Saint-Roch in Quebec City. Wait, I really like the hotel, the facilities and location, but it's really the people who stand out. The owner and his wife were often on hand during our visit, especially at breakfast, and they really care about the quality of your stay. And their staff from the breakfast service to front desk to the room service were all incredibly friendly and efficient. Coming up the stairs from a meal out or a day of sightseeing ? Don't be surprised if someone leans over the reception counter and before you're up the steps they want to know how it went. Don't be surprised if the skies are threatening and when you're out on the sidewalk deciding which way to head, the desk clerk flies out the door offering you one of the hotel's umbrellas. Breakfasts -- magnifique ! Delicious, plentiful, beautifully presented, and made to order. Wonderful coffee from cappuccino to regular black and unlike most places in the province, they actually brew decaf on request (no Sanka packets). Touring ? You'll get wonderful advice on walking routes, the eco bus, sights to see, restaurants, Cirque du Soleil in the open, museums, and more. Things to consider: We had the least expensive room and the bathroom was "just right." If you're a big person, you might want to ask if other rooms have bigger washrooms. The glass shower was huge and wonderful with two types of shower heads - that's not a concern. There's no elevator and some rooms are up two flights of stairs. The nice areas for walking are only minutes away on foot but you'll be going up and down hill. You should be in good walking condition. Saint-Roch is described by some as an up and coming district and by others as a place with a vision that's not yet executed. We had no problem with it. Quebec is a living, changing, exciting city. There are superb tourist districts and there are living and working districts. At Le Vincent you get a good view of it all. To me that's a positive. I don't care for Disney's perfect, fake world. I like a vibrant city and all that goes with it. We loved Quebec and Le Vincent. Do consider it; it's great. read more

Let me begin by stating that if 10 stars were possible for customer service and attention, no question this place would earn all 10 stars. Everyone at Le Vincent we encountered during our stay was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Le Vincent is a boutique style hotel with only 10 rooms. The rooms are adequate in size and have cozy interiors adorned with brick walls. Do not expect any amenities you would typically find at other, similarly priced hotels i.e. no pool, no workout area, no business center, no elevators and small tv's with limited access to channels. Also, the wi-fi was very slow. Additionally, there were a few other issues we encountered at our stay here that merit mentioning. The musty, mildewy smell we encountered as we walked into our room (#10), we attributed to how old this building was and thought nothing more of it. It wasn't until after the 2nd evening that my significant other and I had to stop by the local pharmacy and pick up some allergy medication to combat the symptoms from that room. To boot, the comforter had a stain, the shower as chic as it looked was full of mold / mildew in 2 of the corners and the room could have been cleaner. We couldn't take another evening in room #10 and were ready to find another hotel until we discussed the situation with Anthony, the hotel manager. He was very understanding and accommodating and was able to change our room to room #6. Although #6 had a smaller bed, it was definitely cleaner (shower had been re-caulked) and the room had little to no smell of dampness. It also had a nice view. HOWEVER, only the cold water worked in the shower in this new room and when the outside temperature is in the low 50's, a cold shower is not going to be met with much enthusiasm. I immediately called the front desk and both gentlemen came up with a screwdriver and pocket knife to rectify the situation. We left for dinner and upon our return, approx. around 11ish, I realized the water from the shower was no longer cold but exceptionally hot, scalding hot!! At this point, I'm beyond aggravated and couldn't call anyone as the front desk closes at 10PM. I love hot showers but this was ridiculous and quite frankly dangerous. I took a horse bath using the sink (which worked normally) and had to settle with the current state of affairs. The following morning on our way out, we spoke with the assistant manager Diego and he assured me he would try to fix it. Well, after a long day sightseeing, we arrived back to the room early afternoon only to find the shower was back to dispensing cold water!! At this point I went downstairs and contacted the manager directly. He offered a couple of concessions that were acceptable. The rooms here are quaint and cozy with brick walls and the staff as I stated earlier, out of this world. It is the staff's eagerness to please that has allowed me to rate this establishment 3 out of 5 stars. I truly hope they get ahead of these nagging issues as they can very easily be remedied and help prevent what could otherwise be a very pleasant experience into an uncomfortable and sour one. read more

This lovely hotel is something between an Inn and a Boutique Hotel. The room I was in - just one of 10 - was huge and beautiful with an enormous comfy bed, beautiful sexy shower, huge windows, lovely products, really exceptional. This morning before checking out it was raining and I just hung out, had breakfast downstairs and enjoyed the room. What puts this hotel over the top is the customer service. I reserved online and must have made a mistake when booking because the hotel called me at 10pm the night before I thought I was due to arrive, just checking to see if I was ok and would be arriving soon. I realized my error then - I'd booked for the wrong day - and started to stress... I was arriving the next day for work and didn't have a hotel! Literally without missing a beat the gentleman on the phone (owner? concierge? general magician of kindness?) switched my reservation to the correct day, got me in a lovely room at the same price and wished me good night. Incredible, and this level of care continued throughout. Breakfast was super tasty too and was served by this same kind magician. My only suggestions for improvement would be the coffee, I suggest they partner with Nektar down the street to serve really excellent coffee over breakfast instead of the (shudder) nabob or maxwell. Small thing that would go a long way in the cold mornings. Aside from that really perfect - ideal location for the amazing restaurants in St Vallier and music and coffee in St Roch, and you're right at the base of the funicular and a short walk over to the pretty/touristy stuff so you can enjoy both sides of this lovely town. This place in okay, quirky for sure. Room #5 is a little weird layout as the glass shower wall front to a head-on shot of bed? But there are blinds on the glass wall so you can close them so someone can't see you showering. The furniture was dated as was the TV and there is a DVD player with hundreds of DVD to borrow behind the front desk. The location is not bad about a 20-30 minute walk to the old city. I felt the area was a little rough? but maybe that was because we were adventuring around our 1st night in town after 11;00pm because our train was 2 hours late getting in from Montreal and were looking for a place to eat a late dinner. The front desk person gave us 3 place to try and one was a dive bar and the clientele was pretty scary with very loud music, The other 2 were closed. All we could find at that time of night was a run down supermarket for a sandwich and some cheese. the place we stayed in Montreal was way more upscale so maybe I'm little bias from where we last stayed??? read more

My wife, son and I visited this hotel in September. It is quaint and older but it is very quiet. The staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was one of our highlights. The taste was great and the presentation of the food was amazing. Also it was a comfortable walk to Old Quebec City. If you don't need frills, this location is a very good value. This is truly an urban hotel with a splash of boutique. While I really wanted to hand this hotel 4 stars, I simply could not. This diamond-in-the-rough needs some work. There were some snags along the way of our 4 night stay, ALL of which were addressed by the Management and compensations were made. "Is THAT it?" My impossible to please father exclaimed. "Yes, but look, FOUR stars. See?", I pointed out. I was paying for all the hotel rooms on this trip and I wanted him to damn well appreciate it. The Auberge Le Vincent may be one of the best hotel values I've ever seen. While on the smaller side, the room was very comfortable and certainly in line with its four star rating. The shower stands out as one of the nicest and most comfortable I've experienced. The hotel host Julie greeted us with a warm smile and took her time explaining a great walking tour through Quebec City. The breakfast included one of the tastiest omelette's I've ever had to boot. The only way this hotel could be improved would be to physically move it into the old city. It's only a 10 or 15 minute walk though, and honestly, everything inside the old city seemed like a tourist trap. Claude, if you're reading this, make sure you hold onto Julie. Wow, this place was great! Drove up from Boston in mid-December for a reasonably-priced get-away and stayed for two nights. We showed up and the concierge informed me that they had a surprise for us: they had updated us to a suite for the same price!! Granted it was a quiet time for traveling, but this was a pleasant surprise. The room was beautiful-- tasteful art, exposed brick and this to-die-for shower. They had a great selection of DVDs at the front desk that you can just take when you want them. Every staff member we spoke to was friendly and eager to help. My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at Le Vincent. The hotel is small and in a cute area of town called St. Roch. The rooms are on the small side, but with a great deal of character. Think exposed brick, a glass shower visible from the room, etc... The hotel is a 30 minute walk to Old Quebec (the touristy area) and the more travelled way to the old city is strenuous. On the other hand, St. Roch is wonderful with plenty of restaurants and a lively nightlife. If you don't mind the walk through some fun areas of town, this is the place for you! read more

Felt Like Family My wife and I stayed at Hotel Le Vincent in late June of 2017. From the moment we got there, we were treated like family. I pulled up to the front door not knowing where to park. From that moment on, Diego took care of everything. The men who worked at the hotel, Diego and the other man whose name I can't recall (you know who you are!) were both delightful. The hotel only has 10 rooms but that's part of the charm. We stayed on the first floor in a room that had 2 queen beds, a TV, refrigerator, etc. I'm telling you that literal anything you want, these fellows will help you with, from a restaurant recommendation to direction. We had a lengthy conversation with Diego one night and what a nice guy. A real ambassador of the city. The location of the hotel is ideal for those who want to see Quebec City. Just a couple of blocks from the charming Rue St. James with its shops and restaurants and about 12 minutes from Le Chateugh Frontenac in the other direction. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel and it was wonderful and a great value. I highly recommend the hotel and would stay there again without a doubt when visiting Quebec City. Auberge Vincent is a class act. The hotel proprietor and manager Claude takes great pride in his establishment and his knowledge of Quebec, and it's clear that making sure his guests enjoy their stay in this beautiful city is his top priority. La Roch is a charming district and a lovely walk to the heart of the old city. Nearby is Rue St. Jean, a strip of boutiques, galleries, restaurants and colorful architecture. Claude suggested we dine at Ciccio Cafe for new year's eve. We loved the homey atmosphere, and every course was delicious. Largo on Rue St. Joseph, was a wonderful place to enjoy some live jazz while sipping a stellar Tempranillo. The atmosphere was lovely as was the wait staff. Bistro Les Bosso, also on Rue St. Joseph, was a wonderful surprise for lunch. The french onion soup and croque monsieur w/ pommes frites were excellent! For our last night in Quebec Claude recommended Le Grafitti on Ave. Cartier. It did not dissapoint :-) The scallops and shrimp over tarragon risotto was a culinary delight. The lamp chops were grilled to perfection. Paired off with a wonderful chianti, this meal made the grade. As for the hotel itself, it is lovely and cozy, with an artistic flair....natrually it's styled after Vincent Van Gogh, and there are some unique and wonderful pieces of art adorning the lobby and rooms. Our room (#9) was very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. We slept well, and enjoyed coming in from the snow to select some DVD's from Claude's selection, located at the front desk. Our car was safely kept in a close garage for $16/day, across the street from the hotel. The breakfasts were simply wonderful and abundant, and are included in the cost :-) You can order anything from savory ham/cheese/asparagus crepes to eggs over easy with bacon or sausage. All dishes came with freshly cut fruit, toast, and an endless supply of espresso, cappuccino, coffee and tea. It was a wonderful way to start our day. Mostly, it is the graciousness and openness of the staff, that makes this place special. Claude offers a personal touch with his warmth and personality. We look forward to staying at Auberge Vincent again, the next time we pay a visit to lovely Quebec. read more
