I was surprised that 1) the mussels and fries was only 15€, 2) the interior was super fancy and nice and 3) the service was so good. I really wanted this well known Belgian dish and for 15 euro felt like that was pretty low, the serving was massive. I was pretty full halfway through the amount of mussels on my plate. They were seasoned lightly with onion, celery and I believe leek, the taste of the mussel really shined. The fries were a bit bland but they were fluffy on the inside, a touch of salt and pepper went on a long way. Service was top notch, super attentive without being overbearing and just pleasant. The only downside is that I received my change...in all .10 coins.

The various sculptures and fountains had me in awe. I noticed there was a strong affiliattion for koi fish at each one. After some sleuthing it was apparent that artists in Belgium also saw koi fish as a sign of good luck. We accessed Botanique by strolling the adjacent park close to our hotel and it made for a wonderful morning. There are plenty of benches and of course you can hang out on the steps of the Botanique. I felt like I was on an international episode of Gossip Girl tbh #IYKYK.

It's basically a big garden with a greenhouse and fountain at the end. It's a bit far from the city centre so if you're a tourist just looking for things to do, you can probably skip it. I have a feeling it's more for locals to get away from the noise of the city.
