What a wonderful find. We tried for a room in the beautiful town of Pierrefonds with its looming…read morecastle, but all rooms were booked. A tourist couple told us to head 5 km to St. Jean aux boix and try this charming place, and she was right. We got a standard room overlooking the little village and enjoyed an amazing dinner at their lovely restaurant. Most people were wearing suits, except us Californians, (I did bring a dress, but my husband only wears Hawaiian shirts unless on a cruise when he has a full tux) and another French family, but it didn't matter. The service was first class. My salad nicoise was amazing, my pollock perfectly prepared, and the wine list is an encyclopedia. The grand marnier was a substantial pour in the quaint bar area, served with some lovely pastries. A delightful stay and dinner, but pricey, that's why 4 stars
