I bought a car on 1st August (ford fiesta) and had problems from day 1 - they gave me a clear MOT…read moreinspite of ruined break pads (which was mentioned as advisory in earlier MOT and wasn't replaced before sale). I had to literally visit the garage 5 times to get this issue resolved. When I collected my car after repair - the rear bumper and body has BIG SCUFF AND DENTS. Ashburton service centre bluntly refused to repair this and said that "cars are always parked on the street after repair and they don't take responsibility for what happens to the car on the street". I quote their exact words "For every car that we repair and park on street, if we started fixing the dents caused while they were parked outside our garage, we would go out of business". I have complained to motorcodes - case ID is 20515. I will complain to VOSA for providing incorrect MOT just for selling the car and I'm in discussion with a solicitor to raise a case in small claims court. AVOID THEM - they sell bad quality cars, bad quality repairs and don't take responsibility for safety of cars in their possession.

Came across Abinger Hammer Motors by chance a few years ago and struck lucky. Roger (the garage…read moreowner and no relation) is both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all things Triumph Stag. He and his team filled me with confidence that the work would be undertaken to a high standard and so it proved to be. My car was booked in for a service and a check over before I embarked on a continental holiday. After receiving a couple of phone calls it soon became apparent that my previous specialist confined themselves to basic servicing and little else. I requested and got a complete inventory of what work needed doing broken down into essential and desirable this was provided together with a price breakdown for each element. When picking up the car Roger took me through to the workshop and showed me the bits removed from my vehicle and gave an explanation of the work undertaken and a suggestion as to the order that the outstanding desirable work should be undertaken to minimise duplicating effort and keeping the associated labour costs down. Abinger Hammer Motors now have all my business and although they specialise in Triumph Stags they do undertake work on other classics as I've seen E-Type Jags and Ferrari's sharing space with my pride and joy. One tip take cash or your cheque book along with you as they do not accept credit cards.

Paid deposit then only to receive a call off them yesterday stating they would not do the alloy wheel scuff repair as it would come out of their profits. So they refunded my deposit which was bad business practice and as a loyal Motorline customer for years I would not be buying off them ever again! Poor customer service.

Cheaper than Halfords - and a great deal happier too!…read more I needed a new car battery, phoned round a few places but most would have to order in, Halfords on the other hand had what I wanted in stock. They had two types - normal (460 crank amps for those who know what I'm talking about) at £80 and £90 for the heavy duty battery (510 CA) and they were asking £4.99 to fit it - I worked that out to be nearly £60 per hour fitting! I found them a bit pushy and desperate for me to buy the more expensive battery. Reluctantly I phoned my main dealer as a last resort before parting with £95, Subaru are bound to be more expensive I thought. They had the heavy duty in stock, supplied fitted and VAT £80, saving myself £15 which I intend to spend down the pub on Friday - who says Main Dealers are pricey, well Woodford Motors are not. I must say that the staff at Woodford Motor Co were a lot more pleasant too (big bonus in my books), this is the first time I've used them and I was impressed with what I saw so I'll be back in August for a service... I'll let you know how I get on.

I am now looking at taking legal action to recover my funds.

After my second-hand Audi had done 4,000 miles without any costs, I was beginning to brag that they…read morewere cheap cars to run second-hand. So imagine my horror when, 24 hours before the car had its first service, the starter motor packed up. My experience of an Audi Service was therefore quite mixed. The car had to stay in overnight, because the part was not in stock, but I wasn't offered a courtesy car. To me, £400 for a service with over an hour to fit the new starter motor seems steep... I can remember swapping the starter on a Triumph Herald in 10 minutes, has the technology really got that much harder? Then, instead of dropping the car back to me, they left the keys at Reception and left it to them to ring me. Which is probably a good thing, since the list of 'advisories' was baffling with no indication of costs if I were to get them fixed. So, afar from the image I had, Audi are now beginning to look unreliable and expensive to repair. Still a lovely car to drive though.

After only having the car two weeks I had to return the car to Drift Bridge for over a week to replace the seals to both front sides. After Audi returning the car back, the seals had the same manufacturers fault that the car had originally, the dealership installed the exact faulty seals, a complete waste of time. After calling the dealership to complain and communicate that the seals have the same fault. The excuses were just unacceptable and unprofessional. I have lost all confidence in Audi Drift bridge Epsom.

I thought I would go back to see whether it was just a bad time for them and give them a second chance. They outsourced the quotation without telling me and I was quoted over £1k for a tiny repair which cost me £40 elsewhere.
