Had a terrible experience with Thriveworks. Was not told the therapist I was seeing wasn't…read morelicensed/still in training until I met with her. I decided to keep an open mind and continue with the session. She was incredibly awkward, ended the session 15 minutes early, and I left feeling worse than when I started. I had been to "real" therapy before, this was not okay or standard. They refunded my membership when I complained and never charged me for the session. I didn't think anything of it, because they had given me a refund, I assumed since the session was unprofessional and inadequate they would not charge me. 6 months later I get a bill for the session, customer service was no help. I am now stuck paying a $100+ bill for services not fully rendered. This is a company the takes advantage of those who need help most. Stay away and find an accredited practice.

This not only applies to the Framingham location but all of the locations as they are all the same company. This place is a SCAM and all they want is your money. It is truly sad that they "cater" to mental health when they are really just trying to get your money. I was told when I was signing up that my son was covered under his insurance to start seeing a Thriveworks provider (I even have it stated by a Thriveworks employee in an email). They actually TOOK copays from me for every session along with a $100/month enrollment fee. They continued to let my son see his clinician and never told me that he was actually NOT covered under his insurance. It wasn't until I started seeing a Thriveworks therapist that she told me my insurance was out of network. Thank goodness that happened! Otherwise, my son would have continued his services and the bill would keep racking up WHILE they are still taking co-pays from me (why would they be charging me co-pays when they don't even accept my insurance?)!!! I immediately stopped services for my son and now they are coming after me for the out of pocket cost for those sessions!!! Not only are they coming after me for the cost of those sessions, the last email actually stated that the clinicians costs have went up since then so now I owe even more!! They also keep charging my credit card for this money even though I never authorized it! Now I have to keep working with the credit card company to dispute this! I usually don't fight this hard when it comes to something like this...if I am responsible for a bill then I will pay it no questions asked. However I truly believe that this place is an absolute scam and I will fight it tooth and nail before I pay these people another dime. I URGE you - find somewhere else for a mental health provider!

I'm honestly not someone who usually writes reviews, but my experience with Marisa has been so…read moreimpactful that I felt like I had to share. I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. I feel so much more in control of my anxiety now and honestly like a completely different person than I was just a few months ago. It's been truly life changing. I honestly wish I could see her weekly. The closest way I can describe how you feel leaving a session is like you just had a massage; you're so relaxed, grounded, and at ease. Marisa has truly touched my life. She is genuinely an angel. She listens, she cares deeply, and she is incredibly dedicated to her clients. If she doesn't have an answer right away, she always follows up, whether by email or the next time you see her, which says so much about the level of thought and attention she gives.
