Although Brissie born and bred, I've lived in London until recently. Some years ago, I started to get a horrible rash for no apparent reason. It totally bewildered the GPs in London - one of whom sat there looking up a medical book trying to figure it out. Which didn't exactly fill me with confidence in his ability. After a slight freak out - after all, I was covered in an unsightly rash that nobody had a clue how to get rid of - I rang my Mum in Brisbane from London and she called Dr Harvey (from this very medical centre) to tell him what I'd told her on the phone. He was able to easily diagnose what it was from what I'd told Mum, and then advised what non-prescription ointment I should get from the chemist in London. I followed his instructions, and 2 days later, bye bye nasty rash. That's how good these doctors are! Most recently I went here with another complaint that the doctors in London were also perplexed by. Again, the doctor I saw here from this practice gave me an immediate (and correct) diagnosis and treatment. After 4 years of battling this particular health problem in the UK, all it took was 15 minutes in this Brisbane surgery to walk out knowing what it was and exactly how to fix it. So if you're new to Brisbane and live on the Southside, these are the GPs du jour.

And when that point comes you want them to be great. I feel pretty confident I've found that in the team at Market Street Medical. I mean, when was the last time your doctor called you to say your doctor was running late to save you sitting in the waiting room for 30-40mins? Sure, it throws your day out but at least you can do something else in those 30-40mins rather than sit captive reading Country Style or House & Garden. I waited several months to see Dr Maintsone (she's that much of a rockstar she has a hefty waiting list) after recommendation from a friend who, with similar plights to my own, sung her praises. After the first visit with Dr Mainstone I understood why. She's considerate, understanding and sees issues as pieces of a greater puzzle. I feel she's genuinely interested in the health of her patients and I appreciate her commitment to looking at the bigger picture rather than always reaching for a quick fix. It is because of Dr Mainstone I was able, towards the end of 2013, gain some closure and context around a few medical issues and finally not feel like I was the crazy one for talking of such symptoms. They are more expensive than other GPs I've visited and I personally am okay with this for the level of treatment and attention I receive. They process your Medicare claim online in the practice and you'll be amazed how fast that money is back in your piggy bank.

i've recently been a patient for over a year each appointment we had to wait 3_4 hours and it was…read moreonly a quick telehealth app. yesterday i had a appointment for 9am by 12 pm was over waiting and had cancelled another appointment. this was nothing unusual but i always went with it until yesterday. after ringing reception several times and going onto to a 5 hr wait she sau must discuss this with the doctor. so eventually he called and i asked if we could have our appointments on time . he rudely said that if it doesn't suit find another doctor. dc nour my advice to u is if u cant handle your illness and part time job when u show up then retire . u are not capable of such work u lied to me twice about sending letters offto spealists to which never happened, but u were pulled up by your manager. you are well past it doctor if u need to lie and hang up to patients who ate just needing help .shame on you .i hope many people read this and become extremely wary .YOU ARE NOT THE DOCTOR U ONCE WERE . I have been a client of Browns Plains Family Practice for approximately 16 years and followed them…read morethrough 3 change of locations. I have not lived in the Browns Plains area for over 5 years. Despite the significant distance/travel, I have continued to attend the Browns Plains Family Practice as they at all times are warm and welcoming when I ring or drop in. Nothing is too much and they always have a smile. I consistently observe exceptional teamwork and outstanding communication. They are professional and respectful and listen to my concerns, acknowledge that I understand my body and, when I need an appointment, always accommodate me even if I see another GP from the Practice. I fell safe and supported by the Practice and always feel heard. I never feel judged. Doctor Liebenberg and Vicki (receptionist) go the extra mile at all times. I am a registered nurse of 40 years. I work full time so usually have to see Doctor Liebenberg on a Sunday. Even on a busy Sunday, she takes walk ins. Often you have to wait a long time to see Doctor Liebenberg. However, I am comforted that when I need her, she will fit me in and spend the time with me that I need. Thank you to all the staff at Browns Plains Family Practice. Appreciate and value you all. He is the go-to man for medical certificates, drunken injuries and scripts for contraception. Whilst there are six other doctors in his practice, none of them seemed to have gained the notoriety that Bingham has, perhaps because he's an old collegiate himself, knows the ways of college life and loves to have a chat about it. Dr Bingham was my doctor until one day I couldn't get in to see him and went to see Dr Dutney instead. I've been with her ever since, partly because I prefer to have a female doctor, but also because she always remembers me, never seems in a hurry and is happy to answer any questions. Despite having moved to the other side of town, I'll keep going back to the St Lucia Family Practice and to Dr Dutney, as the treatment and service is so personalised.

My GP, Dr Murray Bingham, is fantastic - he is considerate, compassionate and boasts a wealth of knowledge - treating everything from a broken foot (if he ever reads this - sorry I never wore the space boot!) to the flu. He often has university medical students training alongside him, who he encourages to come up with a diagnosis. My neighbour, who generally drives me there in time of need, has actually bumped into him during his break, shared a coffee and proceeded to ask how my foot was healing. i have been a patient of Dr Tran for more than 15 yrs and not a bad word can i find to say about…read morethis beautiful caring Dr. She may be busy but she never makes you feel your rushed . not only is she great with adults she is fabulous with children too she has helped me & my children get threw so many health issues over the yrs & her caring manner also helped me cope with the loss of not only a grandchild but my father and close relatives which all hit me extremely hard. When giving needles she is very gentle and as scared as we all were of needles i can honestly say she is so gentle you never really feel them. My children are grown now but I have followed and stayed a patient of this lady all these yrs because when you are under her care your not just a patient she makes you feel like a friend and everyone can do with feeling that way when there unwell or troubled.
