However, we have to give the Texas State Roofing Company a 1 star on communications. Their communications can best be summed up as horrible. We had them install two roofs. One on our home here in town and also one at our other house 125 miles away. We heard the doorbell ring at 7 a.m. one morning at our in-town home. Five men were standing around on our lawn. We had no idea who they were or why they were at our house. Of the five men, not one spoke English. I finally figured out who they were after one of them called his english speaking supervisor and I spoke with him and he told me it was the roofing crew. No one had let us know they were coming that day. I had not taken down the security cameras or anything. The 5 man crew did excellent work but I do not speak Spanish and I had several questions that I would like to have had answered. The supervisor, who could speak Spanish, would show up for a couple of minutes once a day and then leave. I would never know when he was going to be there. I would even be home sometimes when he showed up but would miss him because he would not let me know he was outside. He actually got mad at me for wanting to have questions answered (I am not a roofer and had a few questions). His attitude got worse with the out of town house. The man said he would call me and let me know what day the roofing crew would be at the out-of-town house. I got a call the day before and drove 125 miles to meet them and take down the security cameras and unlock the yard gates so they could get their truck and trailer in. They were to arrived at 11 a.m. At noon, I began to get concerned as no one had showed up. At 1 p.m., they still were not there. At 3 p.m., I called the supervisor. No one knew where the crew was. They called around and could not locate the crew. No one had called me from the company. Finally, late in the day, they said they had finally located the crew and they were still in the Corpus Christi area and would not get to our house for several days. I drove back to my home, having driven 250 miles round trip for nothing. I had to make another 250 mile round trip later. I stayed at the out-of-town house while the crew worked. It was the same crew with no one that could speak English. I wanted to talk to the supervisor about several things at the house. He would show up once a day for a few minutes and leave without making his presence known. Moreover, this individual became very testy with me. I love the hand driven shingle nails and the material used but hated the lack of communication. If you can avoid that particular supervisor and nail down exact dates and times, I would highly recommend Texas State Roofers.

We had a lot of issues with the drainage at the back side of the house due to the poor layout gutters design. I called the company many many times with promises that someone will call me back and they never do. Finally, the owner called me and kept using excuses that he is going to visit and address the issue. An appointment was scheduled and they never showed up or even bothered to call and and cancel. I called back and "of course" another lame excuse. We are currently "improvising" till we get a decent company to complete ABU Gutters work!!!! I hesitated before writing a bad review however, I exhausted every possible way to get the problem fixed to no avail. All the calls and requests were falling on deaf ears. DEFINETELY NOT RECOMMENDED. Tabatha quoted me a price then told me it would be a few days. It was very overcast and humid. She explained that to do the job properly it needed to be over 70* and dry as possible. 8 days later the conditions were ideal and they came out to repair. I'm sorry I didn't get the tech's name, he was great and explained the process and why they wanted to wait. How often do you have a company insist on doing the right procedures, and not just do a job. Especially on a vehicle and customer from out of town. I knew these folks were alright when I saw they closed for lunch. Keep in mind I've heard pricing on replacement windshields on these being 4,000-6,000$$$$.
