During these visits I am ok with the doc only spending 5-10 minutes with me. Healing: when I DO have an issue (I went to Dr. Andersen for the first time with a lower back pain), I need more help...more stretching, therapy, and manipulations. During these visits I want the doc to spend as much time with me as necessary to fix me. Dr. Andersen delivers on what I need. Most chiropractors seem to have the gadgets and tools, and the knowledge, but what sets Dr. Andersen apart is his willingness to listen and tailor the treatment to what your body needs, not what will get you in and out the door to see the next patient. Do yourself a favor, find a doctor like Dr. Andersen who will treat you individually, effectively, and knowledgeably.

But I literally drive down from Chicago a couple times a year to have an adjustment because after almost 20 years in Chicago I still haven't found someone as good as Dr. Melby. My take is that his appointments are super short not just to maximize profits but to see as many people as possible - help as many as possible - while still maintaining an incredible work/life balance for his family. Dr. Melby and his staff were kind and incredibly patient with her, as she is typically very timid in a healthcare setting. We decided on a treatment plan after discussing options and my daughter has since completed her treatment plan and will go to appointments on a more "as needed" basis. Over the course of her treatment, my daughter became very comfortable in the office and we have noticed changes in her stability of movement among other things since being adjusted. While my daughter was starting her treatment plan, I decided that I wanted to get evaluated, as well, to see if Dr. Melby could help with chronic pain I suffered with in my neck and back. I am currently still working through the treatment plan Dr. Melby put together for me. However, I have felt like a completely different person since being adjusted. My pain is much more minimal, almost to the point of being completely absent at most times. All of that being said, Dr. Melby and his staff are absolutely amazing and very personable. The office is in a great location, very sanitary and appointments are easy to schedule. I would highly recommend Melby Chiropractic to anyone that may be on the fence about trying chiropractic care.

He said he wouldn't do that procedure without also doing a breast lift. He claimed it would be painless and I could go out to dinner the same night. He also claimed that the implants could stay in for over 20yrs. He insisted on silicone and said it was perfectly safe. All were red flags. I thought he'd give me an idea of implant size but I was left alone in a room with implant inserts to try on. I wanted input because I didn't know how big would be too big with the lift. All he had said is you'll regret not going big and then left. It seems like a bigger implant could cause stress on the lift stitches. Then the sales lady came in with paperwork insisting that I sign the contract. That's when I gave up and left. I'm so glad I did, this is not the doctor I want when making a big decision. I never saw him again or heard from his office.

I went in for a breast augmentation consultation, and from the jump Dr. Kurley gave off bad vibes; stereotypically arrogant, rude, cocky air about him. Condescending, and wouldn't let me ask questions. He also freaked out in the middle of the consult and asked me if I had a hidden recording device...all of this and I still ended up letting him do surgery on me. Right before going in for surgery, I explained to him that I was concerned the implants were not the right volume for me; he disregarded my concern and more or less said he knows better than me, and I woke up depressed and extremely disappointed. I started crying to the nurse, who then brought Dr. Kurley back in, who sat in front of me and belittled me and told me I was wrong for feeling upset, and then started rattling off his credentials, almost bragging to me about what an amazing Dr he is. All the while I am still waking up from the anesthesia, horrified, and asked the nurse (whom I later discovered is Dr Kurley's WIFE), to have him leave the room. He also made several comments about how it is women's fault for not being better patients and coming back to his practice to "fix issues." This was hands down the worst outcome/experience possible for me. I wanted to have this done right the first time, now I'm going to have to pay more money to have a better Dr do it again, not to mention have to go under anesthesia and through surgery AGAIN. P.S. I was texting my boyfriend the whole time describing each creepy room I entered so they would know where to find me if something happened...the office was by far the weirdest, creepiest office and so unprofessional. It looked like a room you'd take the SATs in in the '90s.
