Christmas Dessert
Megan S.

We visited over the holidays and from start to finish, we felt well taken care of. We arrived early in the morning and were offered an early check in and lounge access. We had a connecting suite to a room with a beautiful harbor view. Prior to stay, the staff was proactive about assisting with reservations and local recommendations. When we visited the lounge, staff remembered our reservation and shared that they thought long and hard about which rooms to assign to us since we were having such a long stay. These details shared offhand were noticed and appreciated. We arrived on a very very hot day with 102 degree sun and loved the lounge also overlooking the harbor. The refreshing drinks and snacks offered daily was something that made each hot day bearable as we stopped by for sparkling water and coffee/tea daily to quickly get over our jetlag. The location was ideal being close to the Sealife and Wildlife and the Tumbalong Park. There were restaurants and cafes everywhere within walking distance and we found it to be easy to walk into restaurants with no trouble, even on Christmas Eve. It was a great location for runners as you can run along the water all the way to the opera house. We visited the restaurant for breakfast daily as well as for Christmas dinner with some extended family. The buffet was plentiful with a variety of options both made to order with a changing rotation daily. The Christmas spread was impressive and it was obvious that the team took pride in the setup. We were sad to leave after the holidays as we traveled to the next hotel, our children thought often of the Hyatt Regency Sydney. The only thing we felt was missing was a pool!

The hotel is situated overlooking Darling Bay with fantastic views and with lots of good restaurants and attractions nearby. The hotel staff is very polite and they try. We did have some hiccups with needing to call for amenities every now and then but they were usually pretty prompt. The bed was a little too soft but I guess that's a matter of preference.

Situated right next to Darling Harbour in Sydney, the Hyatt Regency Sydney provides a centrally located modern hotel to walk comfortably to major sights across downtown Sydney. Although it was a bit tougher for my brother, who had to lug heavy checked-bags from the cruise port (about 1.8 km away) back and (maybe) forth. We were between cruise trips in Sydney, Australia, so booked this hotel through the hyatt website (paying AU$331.55 a night as opposed to using points which would have been 15,000). Applied a free upgrade for Lounge access (aka Regency Club). Lounge privileges seem to be just better internationally than in the States, and this was the case here as well. Continental breakfast was served daily starting at 07:00 and they had happy hour with light hors d'oeuvres and drinks, starting at 17:30. This was definitely a case where a business delivers more than they promised. Breakfast included a custom omelet station, manned by Roman, who crafted each with fresh eggs and much care, delivered to the table personally. The selection of pastries was good, along with fresh squeezed juices....and they had fresh passionfruit, which I've never seen at a buffet before (I didn't know how to eat it...learned that you can eat the seeds, pulp, and the flesh (just not the skin).) In terms of happy hour, a pretty big cold spread was provided including wine and a variety of local beers. Along with the great view of the harbour, the Regency club is just a great place to relax and unwind. The double room was big for European standards, but small for American. We did get upgraded to the 11th floor, and the big window view out to Darling Harbour was spectacular: watching the boats leaving the marina and pedestrians walking across the harbour on the Pyrmont bridge with the setting sun as a backdrop. The bathroom was big enough for one person at a time, with very strong water pressure. There was a wall mounted tv, with some channels, none of which we ended up seeing. The two twin beds were easy to separate, and had OK lightweight mattresses. Robes were provided. The fitness center was the 12th floor, and had areas for yoga/stretching and free weights, along with multiple cardio machines including two ellipticals. They also provided full size towels (almost like they had showers there, which they did not) and drinking water. The staff was courteous, friendly, and prompt throughout the stay. Definitely a place to consider if needing to stay in downtown Sydney.

The Hyatt Regency Sydney is the ideal base for exploring the heart of the city. Location, location, location--it doesn't get better! Just steps away from Darling Harbour, the hotel is perfectly positioned to catch a ferry or shop along George Street. The rooms are spacious and well-organized, modern in style with beautiful city or harbour views. The daily breakfast buffet in the Club Lounge was a staple for us. It had a great variety of options to start each day right. Hyatt Regency Sydney has all the essentials for an enjoyable and convenient stay.

Located right by Darling Harbor! This hotel is located in the center of Sydney and within minutes walk to main city attractions. You can quickly get to Darling Harbour or shopping malls. The hotel offers access to nicely decorated bars (check out roof top bar) and restaurants on site. You can indulge with good quality drinks and foods. The room we stayed at was on the 11th floor. We didn't have a good view but the room was clean and modern. Addition of extra USB ports would be a bonus. There were only two ports so it's hard to change all your equipment especially when you stay at the hotel as a tourist. Customer service was very good!

Overall this is a great Hyatt in a super location with great views. I arrived early and kudos to (Xavier) who tried to find me a room only to find it was not ready. Nonetheless he found another - that's great Hyatt service. The buffet is decent may very chaotic and it took forever to get the basic coffee. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall nice stay.

AMAZING views to Darling Harbour. This hotel definitely felt fancy. The service was great, location was prime, traffic is heavy as expected. Definitely enjoyed it here just wish there were balconies. Rooms are spacious and clean, their breakfast is very nice with a great view as well. The breakfast options are actually really tasty too. Coffee at breakfast was amazing. Would love to stay here again

Hyatt Regency breakfast - good quality butter

Staff at hotel are friendly and attentive, esp the breakfast team - everyone from the lovely French girl with long hair, Camille, Mahmod (?) & the male waiter who swiftly collected all used plates/cups. The rooms were looking new and comfy. Switches include USB ports. There were switches for blinds and a sheer shade to be raised or lowered. Reading lights were easily accessible as well. The only thing I noticed is that on my floor, there was a strong smell of paint and a wing was closed as they were working refurbishing the place (?). Other than that, no problems with lifts/elevators accessibility or having to wait for them. Overall, a positive experience and will definitely stay again.

The Hyatt is conveniently located on Sussex street which is a short walk to Darling Harbour and Hyde park. The lobby, restaurant and bar area give a 5 star hotel feel. However, the rooms are a bit old and on the small side. The hotel is facing Darling Harbour and I would recommend opting for a room with the view of the Harbour. Location: 5 stars Rooms: 3 stars Amenities: 3 stars Service: 4 stars Pros: Location is great Easy to get a taxi or Uber Service is good Cons: Mediocre gym Rooms are below average for the price Breakfast buffet is not very good

Ask someone to point you in the direction of the light rail. Take the light rail to the Convention Center stop. Once there walk into the adjacent parking garage. Take the elevator to the fourth floor as if you're going to Novotel. Walk through the parking garage until you hit Murray St. and the hotel will be across the street from you. After you've checked in you can go back through the fourth floor of the parking garage to the walking bridge that will take you to the harbour and shops. You can walk all over town from this central location... across the Pyrmont Bridge, over to Chinatown, a relatively short walk to Circular Quay... it's really a great location. Swag and free stuff: Amazing! When you book on their website you get free happy hour at their bar, everything in the mini bar is free, free breakfast, free loot bag of snacks, free tote bag to swing around town or load up a few extra gifts for home. Lots of goodies! Attention to detail: Never better! From the spare toilet paper that reads "who gives a crap" to the frame hanging in the lobby for people to take selfies with, this place is fun and interesting. I found myself wanting to explore the hotel as much as I wanted to explore Sydney. Food: Nice spread! They had a really nice continental breakfast spread in the morning... lots of fruits, breads and pastries, cereal, hard boiled eggs, a variety of juices, and a coffee machine. I think there would be something there for everyone but if that didn't suit your fancy you could also pay for other breakfast options from the kitchen or coffee bar. Literally the only downside I came across was that the walls were thin so I could hear a lot of noises from the hallway and laundry room. So pack some ear plugs!

VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY- NOT THE FOUR SEASON STANDARD…read more This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've experienced, especially for a brand like Four Seasons that is supposed to represent luxury and impeccable service. We were suspicious upon first arrival when reception appeared overwhelmed and not able or willing to accommodate our requests. I must give a shout out to Lorenzo who did meet our expectations when we were able to enlist his assistance. The hotel felt understaffed, which affected every aspect of the stay. The accommodations were underwhelming, with rooms that were small , particularly for room class designations ,and far below expectations for price point. Food and beverage service was particularly poor. Simple details that should be effortless at this level--like providing decent coffee in the lobby--were completely botched: no cream and poorly brewed coffee. The maitre d for breakfast service was particularly rude and appeared bothered. Wait staff appeared confused and not understanding what we needed. We felt like an inconvenience, perhaps because we did not order the self serve buffet and required a simple breakfast? Overall, this hotel failed to deliver on the most basic elements of hospitality, let alone luxury. The Four Seasons name sets a high bar and while I had high expectations, this property fell short in multiple areas. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as significant improvements are needed to meet brand standards.

I've stayed at other hotels where they gave me access to the hotel gym to shower, but this early access lounge is a full bathroom attached to a small private room for you to unpack and reorganize if needed without being in the general lounge area. Other amenities include free treats in the lobby sometime (they served ice cream once while staying there), fruit water by the check in counter with individual Mentos, and you can borrow an umbrella for free.
