Epic hotel, cool room, lobby is amazing, it has fish, fish are cool, idk the price cause mah dad used Hyatt points or smth, restaurant cool, the baguette is yum, they also allow dogs

Common areas look nice, but that's where it ends. Room was dirty and had hardly any of the amenities you'd expect at a Hyatt and at this price. I've had nicer rooms at Motel 6. There was urine on the bathroom floor and wall, paint was peeling and carpet is stained. On top of that, the front desk staff is untrained. My reservation was made with a company credit card that was to be charged for the room. Upon check-in they requested payment and a deposit. When I pointed out that this should have been placed on the card on file, they required a second card for the deposit and said they'd go ahead and charge the card on file for the room. That was a lie. At check out they charged the entire charge to my personal card, ignoring the card on file. I had to have it reversed and applied to the correct card, but now I have to wait for a refund while my personal bills are scheduled to hit that account, which I only keep enough funds in for my personal bills. Thanks Hyatt.... I'll likely incur NSF fees due to your staff's incompetence. I'd sleep in my car before staying at another Hyatt.

Pros: beautiful lobby, friendly staff, sufficient amenities Cons: room was not worth the hefty price, there is no room service even though it is advertised online and in-room dining line is provided on the hotel room phone. There is no complimentary breakfast with the purchase of hotel room- breakfast is $25/person for mediocre buffet which does not include yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, etc... Better off getting breakfast at a local joint. Additionally, they should train the workers on the phone because the girl who answers the hotel room phone is rude.

Hyatt has been a hotel which I connected quality with and why i booked this for a business trip. Perhaps it's timing or just the Cinderella Pageant, but it was easily one of the worse stays I've encountered at any hotel due to noise.Though I do blame some of the noise due to guest's behavior which is beyond their control, the low rating is for their poor execution of sound control. The wall or very thin and not insulated. The doors aren't sealed for sound and you hear everything. Then add to this kids screaming in the halls ways after 10:30pm, it's not an easy place to rest. I also had the luck of being next to a guest which had a adjoining door with a barking dog. I could even hear their tv which was still on at 2:30am! I didn't bring my Bose headphone for this but it came in handy. The good parts of this hotel was the architecture and cleanliness. The gym was basic but had what I needed. The parking was ample and not too far. Oddly the second floor parking is closed down. The store was very nice and pleasant which had pastries, coffee and snacks. If it wasn't for the property being kept in good shape by the staff, I would have given this a 1 star. The building needs to be updated for sound/noise control. Don't let the Koi pond fool you... I didn't feel from Zen after my stay.

Our long weekend stay here was fairly uneventful. It was a little drive from here to the Houston livestock show, but not too far. Hotel is nice, but our room was a little dated but clean and quiet. A/C worked great. Excellent service. Free parking. Comfy bed. Super close proximity to nice dining and shopping in City Centre and the Memorial area.

The experience was amazing and pleasant. The only thing was the market staff was slight rude but still did a great job. There was a party or ceremony held there and the children were very irate and running around by the indoor pond which was very scary. I even exited the elevator and the children zoomed passed me and just about knocked my food out of my hand. I think there needs to be policy for the guest that children cannot run around on the first floor due to harming or falling in the pond. Furthermore, the views were just fantastic the eating area was to the T terrific! Janitorial staff was very rude and non caring to the guest. My family politely asked can the bathroom be cleaned before she was to enter and the staff responded by saying okay wait! We said nothing and just waited until she clean all the tissue in the floors. I give a 5 star because despite the things that happened they can be fixed and properly handled. The other thing that made our visited was the lovely lady at front desk Sunday morning offered food to feed the fish and a blessed morning. I only recommend this place if the right staff are working to make the sight to see

Beautiful, bright, and spacious lobby!

Beautiful hotel with spacious lobby, clean room, and great pricing/point redeem! Rumor has it, this hotel used to be under a different brand and Hyatt has recently taken over. Take advantage of this while you can until they decide to completely renovate the hotel and raise the price/category. By no mean any other Category 1 Hyatt hotels can compare to this one. Even tho the rooms are a bit older and outdated, we were happy with how comfortable the bed is, the big screen TV (probably 65in), and good size room. The parking is free and the hotel conveniently located right off of the hwy for easy access on and off. One thing to beware, there's a mini fridge in the room, but the temperature is set to 55F (you can't lower it yourself). They do have a posted sign on the fridge door to let you know this (also the fact that it's not cold enough to prevent food from going bad). For sure to contact the front desk for a different fridge or see if they can lower the temperature for you if you have food or drinks that need to be kept cold.

First time in Texas and decided to make a stop in Houston! It's super cute hotel with koi fish and everyone seems very friendly. Wish the rooms were a bit updated though.

It's the little things that separate good from excellent. For example, thick carpeting in the hallway to dampen noise. Or smooth rolling wheels on carts so they don't squeak or pull against you as you try to navigate down the hall. This Hyatt does those little things. The room was immaculate. Tile floors in the bath sparkled. Thick, soft towels and linens on a comfortable bed. But then, we had a plumbing issue. If guests don't report the problem, how can management fix it? Unfortunately, it happened late at night. And first thing in the morning I got a call from a manager apologizing. Next thing I know, we're upgraded to a suite and a night off my stay was credited. That's customer service. This Hyatt has an excellent restaurant. A coffee/snack bar open from 7a-7p. Plenty of parking and access to freeways to get you around in Houston. The staff is friendly. Check in was ez. Oh, and they're pet friendly. Right down to water bowls and a treat jar in the lobby. Seriously, what's not to love?

Service was impeccable during our one-night visit from check-in to checkout. There are snacks in the lobby and chilled Rose' wine is offered in the lobby in the late afternoon. Our standard room was excellent with a large shower and a bed that was beyond comfortable. We were overlooking the pool area, and it looked mighty inviting, maybe next time. We loved seeing all the old movie posters and unique décor in the lobby and conference rooms. Even the restrooms have themes! While I understand mistakes happen, what was completely unacceptable was the way the situation was handled afterward. When I called the front desk for help, I was met with rudeness, attitude, and skepticism, as though I was making the situation up. The front desk manager was dismissive and unhelpful, despite the fact that I even offered to personally look through the dirty linens to find my clothing. Two days later, the hotel finally called to say they had found my shirt, only to then ask me to pay for the shipping label to have it returned. No apology. No accountability. No acknowledgment that I was left scrambling and forced to borrow clothes from others in order to attend my event because of their mistake. To make matters worse, the concierge kindly assured me that his manager, Daisy Lopez, would be reaching out to address the situation. Despite following up twice, I never heard another word from the hotel. The issue was never the mistake itself, accidents happen. The issue was the complete lack of professionalism, empathy, accountability, and customer care afterward. For a hotel that prides itself on luxury and reputation, this experience was an absolute disappointment.

Not once did we feel uneasy (and we live in the Houston area - did a staycation for my husband's birthday). A few years ago, it would be a different story. There are a few homeless in the general area, but they aren't disruptive. We stayed in room 705, complete with a city view. It was quiet and lovely. I wish the rooms had a full-size fridge and cooking area, but for downtown, the suites are just as big as a studio apartment. There's space-themed decor throughout the hotel. I found the valet pricing to be a bit steep, and unfortunately, I have reason to believe two pairs of sunglasses were stolen from my vehicle. (I realize they should have been put in my purse immediately after use, but it slipped my mind, and out of habit, I put them in the console.) Regardless, it's frustrating. It also took 10-15 minutes for valet to pull our car around, so that's something to keep in mind. The evening reception was nice, especially with the two drinks/person/night. We had chips and queso, though they had a few other offerings. Make sure you get the card at the front desk. The front desk staff will also try to sell you on destinations for a cheap rate. I'm not sure when this became a thing, but instead of telling us about the evening reception and breakfast, they tried selling us on a stay in Chicago. I really just wanted to go to our room since I did everything on the app. We also found the breakfast to be worth every penny to stay in this hotel. I can't have gluten, and there isn't any GF bread. I had eggs, potatoes, grits, and coffee. There were cereal, fruit, yogurt, and waffle-making options as well. I appreciated the coffee bar having various syrups. The hotel was extremely accessible for those with disabilities/handicaps. We saw several people in wheelchairs or with assistance. Hearsay on the Green is inside the hotel, and the food is priced well for what you get (and it's excellent). If you DoorDash, the Dasher has to leave your food/items at the front desk. They are not permitted to go up to guest rooms. The rooftop pool and hot tub offer views of the city and Toyota Center (excellent people watching). Overall, I'd stay again (but I'd ensure I brought my cheap sunglasses and not my Maui Jims).

I loved my room and the bar/restaurant was nice. Hotel Staff is excellent. Valet parking was fast.read more

And while the whole experience will hit your wallet, it is worth it. Let's face it, you're staying here because of either the convenience of the lovely restaurants connected to the hotel or because of the rooftop pool with the Texas-shaped lazy river. Fortunately, both of these factors live up to it's promise and glamour. The restaurant options are aplenty; all that connect to the hotel lobby. Prestigious options such as Xochi, Biggio's, and Walker Street Kitchen are all here. Xochi is the only one we visited during out time there and it's well worth the experience (see my review on that). The rooftop pool has several seating/lounge sections along with a full bar/restaurant at the front area. Additionally, there is a hot tub and a pool on the left side where you get a nice view of the Houston skyline and the Texas-shaped lazy river floats around all of these attractions. It's the main reason why you're coming to this hotel in the first place! Other amenities I liked is the very large fancy exercise room and the club area where they serve complimentary breakfast for platinum and titanium members. The breakfast has some delicious items including fresh pastries, charcuterie selections, and the scrambled cheese eggs. And there's a cappuccino machine included if you want something more fancy than coffee. All these things I've listed and I haven't gotten to our room! Well we had a clean king sized bedroom that directly overlooked the rooftop pool giving us a nice view of what we would be engaging in during the afternoon. The room also has a safe in the closet if you want to store any valuables. As I mentioned, it's gonna be pricey staying here with all the perks I listed. But would I do it again? HELL YEAH!

We could hear conversations by the elevator, and a strong bacon smell filled our room every morning, which was very unpleasant since I don't eat meat. There was a lot of open space in addition to the king bed and the living room area. Even though it was February, it was actually quite warm and humid inside the room. We had recently experienced temperatures in the teens in Dallas, so being in a room with the temperature in the mid 70s, seemed unbearably hot. We had to find the A/C and turn the temperature down a few degrees. The hotel is located near the arts district where we were planning to spend our Saturday. The earliest we could checkin was 3pm, so we spent our day visiting the city and just left our luggage in the car. Checkin was super easy since we already had a reservation. Parking was included. The property has a fence around it, so the parking felt relatively secure. It was also well lit. The spots in the front were mostly taken, but you could drive around to the back of the building and easily find a space. The hotel has an elevator, but it is very slow. We used the stairs quite a bit, but found the elevator useful for carrying our bags upstairs. The view was limited and not very appealing, but the building only has about three floors. Amenities like a pool, gym, and laundry facility were also available at no added charge. The Wifi name and password were printed on the room key to make it easy to connect. Breakfast was included. The breakfast area had several tables. the meal is buffet style. They do have hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage, and breakfast tacos. You can make a waffle or toast bread or a bagel. Cold items like juice, yogurt, cereal are also an option. Two staff members were there making sure food was readily available and that things were kept clean. There were a few items that bothered me about this particular hotel. One, there was no TV reception in my room. I couldn't believe there weren't any channels, not even local channels! I was also annoyed that the bathroom sink was not draining properly. My husband had to play with it to get it to drain at all, and even then, it took a very long time for the water in the sink to empty after washing my hands or brushing my teeth. Lastly, the light switch at the entrance of the room only controlled the lighting in the entryway. I had to go around and turn on individual lights to feel like it wasn't so dark. These were minor inconveniences, but for the price, I would have expected these not to be an issue at all. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and went out of their way to help me. On the day of our departure, my husband wasn't feeling well. They provided me with some bottled water as well as a Sprite to help his stomach. I was so touched by this offer. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We both got a good night's sleep.

I would say the decor is very old fashion lounge with there being a mix of table with chairs or chairs paired with a couch. Also, I made a note that I could not have tuna but they took this as I could not have fish so they gave me two chicken salad sandwiches instead of the salmon even though I had stated on the phone salmon was fine. She also could not describe one of the desserts but overall she was very pleasant. The amuse bouche was - interesting ( a strawberry with cream cheese) I didn't hate or love it. I didn't think the cream cheese added anything tbh. We had one dessert on the table waiting for us before we said down - a English parfait that had a white chocolate mouse, cake, and fruit. I loved it although it was a bit strange to have dessert already sitting at your table before you got your sandwiches but I am a dessert first girl so didn't matter to me other than it was constantly calling my name. You don't get to choose your tea and the two tea options are both black which is a lot of caffeine. The sandwiches themselves come across as unassuming but they are great and very filling. Each one has a different bread which was cool. Although not a fan of cucumber, the bread was milky and so soft. All the sandwiches were fantastic. Honestly, I was so full from the tea and sandwiches, I took the desserts home. One big misstep in service was the server forgetting to serve the second tea. I had to ask for it and by the time we got it, we were tea'ed out. You are gifted a box of macarons at the end - we almost left ours but our server ran and got us in time. I definitely had a great time, there were small incidents that stopped it from being 5 stars.
