My 2 night stay as a Hyatt Globalist was a good one. No complaints. I arrived very late at night and valet was easy. The attendant was friendly and helpful when I told him I'd need my vehicle soon. Check-in was easy as well. My room, on the 27th floor, was clean, comfy and quiet. I never heard neighbors or street noise. Everything in the room worked. In the bathroom, there was strong water pressure and the hot water came quickly. In the lobby area there's a small bar, Eisenstein Bros. (24/7) and Shula's restaurant. I ate breakfast at Shula's both mornings. They offered a buffet and ala carte menu. I highly recommend the Tex-Mex breakfast bowl. Service was fast and friendly as well. Upon check out, my bill was accurate and valet brought my car around right away. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

Hyatt Regency in Downtown HTX is a very nice hotel. Super modern and chic, clean rooms, and helpful employees. The gym is fine and I like the location, right in the heart of downtown, with plenty of parks and eateries to try out. Stayed on the 28th floor (of 30) with a high floor double bed room. This room looked a lot better online, but it was a cozy room! There's about 8 elevators for the hotel. You need a key card to access the hotel room floors. There's a pool & gym. Apparently, the spindletop rooftop is closed The Lobbibar was cool. DIdn't open until 4, food here ends at 11p or 12p There's an einstein bagels place that is open for breakfast and into the evening, and SHULAS is attached which is a steak / upscale restaurant. Shula was closed on Sunday and it closes mid day (between lunch & dinner) RIght out of Einstein's is a door to get into the tunnels below the city. Super clean area, a ton of "hidden" restaurants, eateries and other little businesses. Lit up like a city down there. The tunnels do close overnight however Housekeeping came by everyday actually. To refresh the linen and bath items and remove trash You can control your own temperature. Cable and local channels are just fine! You can also cast your equipment to the tv. Just be sure to download the hyatt mobile app to do so You can also check in using the app. They will provide you with your room number and you can use an electronic room key Bed was nice. Not too hard or too soft. the only disgusting thing I would say is, pulling back the blanket and it looks like "black mold" spots. GROSSSS. Picture has been attached. Thankfully tho, the two flat sheets that surrounded the comforter were clean and I never physically came in contact with the actual comforter Nice blackout curtains This was generally a nice stay. Nice hotel in the heart of downtown. Surrounded by many restaurants that are within walking distance. I was bummed that Shula's Steakhouse was closed but the same menu is served at their lobby/bar. Customer service was ok nothing stood out with them. My chicken was raw at the bone. I advised the server CLEEFORD He said nothing. No apology, no nothing. He didn't even pretend that he cared to take it to the Cook. RAW CHICKEN CAN KILL YOU. For it to be downtown, it was very deserted. However, it was a Sunday. Great location, easy access to work and play. The hotel is massive but a little dated. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and they space with pretty decently sized. There's a few food options in the lobby and they have room service too. Lots of conventions and conferences are held here and there was one the week we stayed but was not a hinderance at all. The space is well played out and they had mutupple elevators running very efficiently. There's is a well equipped gym in the basement and an outdoor pool that looks out to downtown. It's easy to get car service if needed and the public bus is just a block away. read more

Great convention hotel with all the perks Came to stay at the Hyatt Regency Houston when the other host convention hotel was booked. So glad we chose this hotel. Also came during a wedding anniversary and an extreme. Thank you goes out to their staff member Jary who made our room great celebratory joy. Thumbs Up: This is an overall nice hotel located in the heart of Downtown Houston, making it ideal for business travelers. Thumbs Up: The rooms are standard compared to other hotels but offer nice views of the surrounding area and buildings. Thumbs Up: The hotel has access to the Downtown Tunnel system, so you don't have to walk in the heat and humidity to get to meetings. Thumbs Up: There are also restaurants in the hotel. Einstein Bros. is great for a quick breakfast, and Shula's is decent for lunch. Neutral: Unfortunately, Spindletop, the restaurant at the very top of the hotel, has closed. It was one of the best spots for special occasions and romantic nights. Thumbs Up: Children might enjoy riding the transparent elevator if you have a room on the upper floors. It's even a fun experience for the young and the young-at-heart! read more

We stayed for 2 nights while visiting our new grandson. The hotel was clean and welcoming. Our room was spacious and clean. They do allow dogs, but the $75 pet fee is quite steep. The breakfast was enjoyable and had both hot and cold choices. I wish they had a better GF selection, but the fruit and eggs were fine. The bar/food counter could use a little help as the concierge was the only one making the food/serving drinks and checking people in. We did enjoy our stay and would stay again. read more

This Hyatt Regency is very comfortable and the rooms are relatively large. On my visit it felt like a ghost town, but that is not a bad thing. Hyatt does provide elites with a full service breakfast which is better than their competitors. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. My one complaint was that the HVAC was exceedingly loud and I do not usually notice such things. read more

It's 11pm. I'm up. I can hear shouting from the lobby or pool from my room on the 21st floor. My room phone has been ringing tonight, three times since 9pm. There are signs everywhere about "quiet time" from 10-6, but not enforced at all. It's constantly party time. Lobby is amazing, staff are friendly, elevators can take a while, rooms are nice, pillows suck. This hotel has a great location, but is overrun with schmucks out with the company AmEx. read more

Front desk agents hang up on you when asking about shuttle service, no apology at all when I finally make it hotel to check in. The next day there is zero response from the restaurants when trying to place a to go order. Told to follow a link (where only one restaurant is available to order from, not the actual hotel restaurant). No employee here wants to deal with customers, and that is SO APPARENT. Beautiful hotel, but I will steer clear because they treat customers very poorly. As if we are "bugging them" by simply being there. DISMISSIVE. COLD. and RUDE staff. Do better! read more

When I arrived on the Vonlane around 9 pm and checked in, I was informed that the hotel had no running water. I was not given any advance notice of this issue, nor did the hotel manager/staff offer to re-book me in another hotel. In fact, I was not offered any compensation for the inconvenience until, at the very end of the check-in process, the staff gave me a $25 dining credit "because you were so nice." I had already eaten dinner and was checking out the next morning, and I had not planned time in my morning to eat breakfast. However, so that the credit did not go to waste, I ordered room service breakfast. After a night that involved me going downstairs to the lobby to wash my face and brush my teeth, and having to pee during the night in the dry shower since the toilet wouldn't flush, I woke up to find that the water was indeed running again in the morning as promised, but it was ICE COLD and SPITTING DIRT. It didn't just spit dirt briefly and then clear up -- it spit dirt the ENTIRE time I took that FREEZING COLD shower. Almost immediately after getting out of that horrific shower experience, the room service staff knocked. I was freezing and disoriented and still wrapped in a wet towel (no robes in this hotel!) and stressed, so I tipped and signed without reading the bill carefully, though thinking it seemed massively expensive. After he left and I opened the bag of food, I was surprised to find that there had been multiple mistakes: they'd sent me AND charged me for two entrees (I had only ordered one) and had charged me the full amount, not applying the $25 credit. I had to take time out of my rushed morning (this travel was for a stressful work trip) to call room service and inform them of the error. They brought up a corrected receipt and (strangely) asked me to give back the second entree, which I did. However, in the meantime, after hanging up the phone with room service, I had also discovered that the side of fruit I'd ordered had plainly visible mold...I mean, it wasn't even hidden; it was in plain view, which makes me wonder what's going on in that kitchen. (I have a picture of this too if you'd like to see it.) So, when the room service staff came with the corrected receipt, I also showed him the moldy fruit, and he took that too. So then I had a THIRD visit from room service when he brought me back a fresh, non-moldy plate of fruit. This whole process was such a ridiculous disruption to what would have been a stressful morning for me even WITH running water and a properly delivered room service breakfast...but all told, the entire experience was just awful from start to finish. I ended up being late to my work meeting that morning as a result of all the disruptions, and I was never able to fully relax in the hotel room since I was either stressed about trying not to drink too much water or stressed by the ice cold, dirty-water shower I had to take in the morning. To say that a $25 food credit that I did not even want or need, and that subsequently ADDED to the horrors of my stay, was insufficient as an apology for these many inconveniences is an understatement. I am appalled by the management of this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. If your stay here goes well, then you got lucky, because if anything goes wrong, it's going to go very, VERY wrong and be horribly mismanaged. read more

Parking was hard to figure out for this hotel, but once we got it, check-in was swift. The lobby has beautiful high ceilings and the Einstein's bagels was convenient for breakfast. The room was spacious with a nice couch and a sky scraper view. The pool was outside and sadly it was raining. The gym was in the basement and was a little dated, but it had everything I needed and some peloton bikes. There are a lot of nice bars and restaurants near. The tunnels are right next to the hotel which makes it easy to get around downtown! read more

Customer service is phenomenal and it's necessary to make that clear from the jump, but my week long stay here was subpar. I shared my experience in the survey and someone sent an email asking how to make it up to me, to never responding again. Firstly, their website is falsely advertising a year-long heated pool because it was ice cold and filthy. Note: I was on a business trip and had no time to continue the complaints. The first room I stayed in had a bad mattress, and the guest service representative agreed it was bad and immediately switched me to a different room. The mattress in the new room was fine, but there were plenty of other issues. The air condition didn't work and was very loud, there was no door in the shower, the water pressure was weak, and every time I took a shower I had insane allergy attacks indicating there is mold, there was a dip in the floor, no light in the closet, and I never got the items I ordered to my room. I previously stayed at a different Hyatt Regency and had an excellent experience, so I expected the same in Houston. read more

In some respects this Hyatt feels like a typical downtown business hotel, which it is. I did like my room and the bed was very comfortable. This is also a very clean hotel. Location is great if you need to be downtown and you can walk to a number of restaurants catering mostly to the business crowd. Hyatt staff are friendly and accommodating. read more

Visiting Houston for my daughter to check out Rice University. Naomi w/ guest relations was so helpful and Shelton at the checkin made sure that we were made comfortable upon arrival. There is also a cool bar located on ground floor where you can have drinks and food while enjoying the super tall interior atrium. We will definitely be back next time we visit Houston. Stayed here for two nights on a business trip. The Hyatt Regency in Houston is one of the largest hotels I think, with many floors and rooms located really high. The elevators are transparent so you can enjoy the views from outside and inside while moving. Overall, pretty solid choice for hotels, though sometimes large is not always better. Pros: * Very comfy king bed and powerful showers. * Basic wifi is fast and free - no problems on either VPN nor streaming Amazon Prime Video. * I like the gym - two benches with lots of dumbbells, cable machine, and rows of cardio equipment on both sides. * Friendly staff here - they insist you grab the free Reindeer snacks and cookies and not just look at them! Cons: * Carpet can use some updating - I did not have any allergies this time but the air did seem a bit dusty. * Toilets have weak flush and takes a while * Everybody else likes the gym too - packed between 530am to 6am! For a hotel of this size, consider expanding the gym. Luckily, the free weights and benches were free both days I was there. * Not an issue for me, but if heights are a problem for you this many not be the best hotel. You will rely on elevators alot! read more

I am very disappointed with our recent hotel stay . Upon checking in we noticed that this location had been recently renovated. When had reservations for weekend needless to say our stay was extremely unpleasant. Out of our two day stay we only got maybe 6 hours of sleep due to the room temperature and bed being hard like a brick. I called the front desk to ask for another room only to find out that all the rooms had the same issues. I think that the staff could have tried to do more to make our stay more comfortable but nothing was done to fix the problem. The hotel was beautiful however it needs more than beauty to satisfy your guest. read more

Nice hotel. Good service. Wife and I stayed here in November 2018. It was an anniversary 'staycation.' We enjoyed it, although it wasn't overwhelming as far as high-rise hotels go. Views from the room are excellent. Rooms are good -- but nothing spectacular (our bed at home is more comfortable); it was clean, although the shower looked like something from an apartment I rented way back in the day. Service here was great on our visit. And this hotel's location gets there for the cash as far as experiencing downtown Houston. Will I be back? Absolutely. But with more realistic expectations. read more

Had booked a room in advance at the Magnolia - arrived there and they said they don't have a room for me and sent me to the Hyatt (go read my fun review about the Magnolia!!!!) I arrived at the Hyatt at 11:40pm exhausted from travels and getting kicked from the Magnolia. Feeling utterly defeated I walked up to Amadi who greeted me with a huge smile and a warm welcome. He quickly checked me in and reassured me that all would be well a the Hyatt. The hotel itself was beautiful, great colors, and best of all they don't kick out guests. Check in was quick and easy and I had a great room. It was super quiet. Bed was firm and room and bathroom were bright and clean. Good view from my window too. Upon departure the front desk people greeted me with a smile and wished me a great day. Waiting for my car to come and the people on the door helped me with my luggage and offered me a cold bottle of water. Everyone at the Hyatt was sweet and kind. Really great experience !! read more

Stayed here during the 2022 Chevron Marathon and everything was great! The front desk clerks were very friendly. They were VERY supportive of the 2022 Marathon and 1/2 Marathon runners! I would highly recommend this location to anyone. read more

I have not have any bad experiences with Hyatt in the previous years, but I have now encountered a problem with getting a hold released from my card. It has now been 17 days with my funds still on hold. I called last Monday and was told "it got caught up in the system." I was then told that the hold was released, but I still have a hold on my funds. This is entirely unacceptable as I have been very patient in waiting for the hold to be released. read more
