Great Value for the Area!! I have stayed at this Hyatt location many times when I'm in business in the area. This stay was a good one as I was greeted warmly by the staff upon check-in and they had my name on the board welcoming me to the hotel. I also received a voucher for a free drink in which I had an ice-cold beer. My room was clean, as well as the bathroom, the wifi had a strong signal, but the room could use a little modernization as it lacks ports for USB devices. There are plenty of outlets that you can charge your phone and other devices. The breakfast was very high quality as expected at a Hyatt property. There are many items available so that you can enjoy healthy choices or go crazy with sugar and carbs. The entrance and foyer are very welcoming and there is a small menu for ordering food from the hotel restaurant. The gym is clean with modern equipment. Aside from my bathroom being in need of a renovation, I will say it was very clean. This is a very good hotel for the price and location. read more

Kaya Johnson was the acting manager. I just witnessed her handle a difficult customer and she showed so much compassion. Kayla you looked to be the best at what you are doing and I even heard your employees compliment what a great person you are. Keep on being you! You are much appreciated!! Everything about our stay was great!! read more

Horrible service and a dishonest manager. Checked in on 19 May and even though there were THREE (3) Hyatt employees behind the counter --one a manager, they still managed to incompetently and/or dishonesty overcharge me by $587.30! My company had already paid the pre negotiated $470.00, so as you can see, these hooligans wrongfully charged me $587.30 -- AFTER they had received electronic pay from my company. They tricked me. Giving me the impression I was only paying for "incidental fees", I later checked my bank account & noticed a $587.30 charge by Hyatt of Columbus, MS, I called the Hyatt & after a significant hassle, spoke with a manager named Melissa S. She suggested I call my bank and have them call her on her personal cell phone to work it out. My bank was aghast at the Hyatt manager's suggestion to use a "good ole boys" network to solve the problem that they said should be resolved e by the Hyatt of Columbus, MS simply "reversing the charges". Called back Melissa S and she said there was nothing she could do to help me. I was just out $587.30 until it was settled. Meanwhile, they get paid TWICE!!!! Wow. Such dishonesty. The 3 Hyatt employees at the front desk NEVER told me there was any problem with my company's payment while I was checking in, but instead simply charged me an additional $587.30 -- which was far more than was negotiated by my company. These people are basically thieves. Very sad. Stay anywhere but the Hyatt in Columbus, MS --- unless you want to be cheated by employees who will lie & cheat you out of $587.30 -- right in front of you and in broad daylight. Astonishing dishonesty by Columbus, MS Hyatt. You should be ashamed of yourselves. read more

THIS HOTEL IS AHHHHHHH-MAZINNNNNG! ***Long Review Alert*** I was in charge of my husband's Family and Friends Day this year. I had never done this before. The sales manager Tina Ray stepped in and made it an absolute pleasure. There were last minute family members needing rooms and Tina made it happen with a beautiful smile. She reassured me that all would be taken care of and did just that. I was stressed but she eased my concerns and let me know all was good. The entire front desk staff was great ! They treated all my family and friends as their own family and friends. Even though there were a lot of changes, their professionalism never wavered. Everyone was top-notch in customer care! Thank you, sales manager Tina for making my first time as coordinator an absolute breeze. Thank you front desk staff, Morning-Angel, Meika, Keyondra Evening- Andre, Maya, & Late night- Betsy, for making my family and friends feel welcomed and for taking great care of them. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A 5 STAR EXPERIENCE! HYATT PLACE COLUMBUS, MS ALL OF YOU ABSOFRIGGINLUTELY ROCK!!!!! Pleased beyond words, Vickie Golden read more

The hotel is spotlessly clean. Our bedroom was nicely appointed and very comfortable with excellent bed, pillows, and bed clothes. Excellent free WiFi. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good and quite varied in the available choices. The location in the city is good, making it easy to get to whatever you need. My wife and I recommend this hotel very highly. Very good cost-benefit. read more

The BEST staff I have ever met at a hotel. I cannot say that enough. They're very accommodating & extremely friendly. The general manager even works the front desk on occasion! The property is just over a year old and is kept in good condition. Business center services are offered free of charge (internet & printing in the lobby) and breakfast is complimentary in the morning. Price is extremely affordable, too! read more

Stayed at Hyatt Place this past weekend for MUW homecoming and it was fabulous! Everyone we came in contact with at the desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and nice. Beds were comfortable. My only negative would be that the room was not cool enough for us, even though we turned the thermostat down. It wasn't just blazing hot, just a little too warm for us 40 something's with hot flashes! I will definitely be staying there again! read more

Great, clean rooms. I LOVE the shade options they have in the room, for people like me who sleep in, it is dark as night with the shades drawn. Very friendly staff, plenty of options for late night snacks and even full of meals, coffee and drinks. I would recommend this place to someone staying from out of town. read more

Beautiful new building, easy check in, located within minutes and even walking distances to food. Great friendly staff.

One of the best hotels I've ever been to. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful. I was here with the Lions Jazz Band and the staff let us keep our equipment in one of their storage rooms in the lobby. They have a nice little bar area and if you ask for a glass of water they actually pull out a fancy glass from the fridge and put ice in it too. (Water is free btw) The breakfast was AMAZING! Eggs were very good! Beds were pretty soft! If your ever in town, this is a good place to stay. read more

Very friendly staff. Nice clean rooms. New hotel. Everything you could expect for a hotel in the tier Hyatt Place competes in.

I stayed at this hotel 2yrs ago and it was wonderful. It's amazing how the quality of of service had dropped I such a short time, in July when I stayed I experienced the worst events ever. first upon arrival my rooms was not ready. I had family sitting in the lobby waiting after traveling long distance. finally after a 11/2 hours and constantly checking we get the rooms. the next morning I come down for breakfast they had the front desk staff working the kitchen, they were out of different food items as well as plates and eating utensils, I was very disappointed people are standing around waiting on food and essentials to eat. then come Sunday more of the same. Except my checks out her room and noticed that had our check out dates switched, so I called to make sure everything was good. Upon arriving back to room I found myself locked out, so back to the desk to see what's going on. Problem get solved. Once I entered the room I noticed some purchases have been removed, immediately go back to the front desk to report my missing bags. she calls the housekeeper for my room she claims she never saw anything, however when a supervisor check her cart there's my bags w/merchandise sitting right there (LIAR). Told them something else was missing so finally I figured out she had also taken my medication. front desk staff search all carts, they even went dumpster diving but meds was not to be found. This woman was gone home and more than likely my meds with her. She gave no thought to the risk to my health she caused. I saw her return the next morning, after I checked out and was headed out of town the hotel manager called me and said they found my meds. Awful fishy it showed up after she showed up???? They don't have to worry about seeing me again. They kept some employed that put my health in jeopardy. If go there watch out. If that's not enough I get home and I HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S ROOM. read more

Forgot to place a review, but stayed at this location in mid August and enjoyed our experience. Check in was a breeze. I requested room change due to view and was accommodated. Room was clean, breakfast was good, customer service was good and the kids enjoyed the pool and fitness room. If we need to come back to this area this hotel will be on the top of my list. read more

My reason for this review is to let others know about the definition of discrimination... I checked into the Hyatt Place in Columbus Ms on May 11, 2017... I requested two rooms, both non smoking. I was visiting my home town for a memorial service and to visit my sock grandmother... for the first two nights, our television didn't work. I reported it to the front desk and was told it would be taken care of.. we spent most of our time outside the hotel with my family and when we returned the television was still not fixed.. I again addressed the front desk and a young lady came into our room and was in our room for over 20 minutes and she fixed the television.. the next day I said something to the same front desk worker I talked to first about the television and she said she would address the housekeeping for being dishonest about fixing it.. I checked out Sunday morning to drive back to NYC and on Wednesday, my account is hit with a $200 smoking fee.. I called the front desk and asked for a manager... the GM states to me that there was evidence of smoking in my room and that it was a drug!!!! first I DONT SMOKE and if I did I would have asked for a smoking room or went to a hotel that has smoking rooms.. she claims the same housekeepers that got in trouble about the television issue told her they found weed in our room!!!! I will not allow my character and my reason for coming back to Columbus for my family to be lied in by a group of women that half do their job anyway!!! Two of them were watching tv in a room they suppose to be cleaning as well as getting upset because they were talked to about a television.. I will not stop until I found out who lied on me.. this hotel discriminated and I will let every site with review know that..as for the manager, she never called and talked to me nor investigated what happened.. she just took it upon herself to believe what she claims was told to her..I am all the way in NYC and I have no way of proving that they are lying!!!! You can charge $200 to a persons card without even making a call or giving me some form of a reason why you are... bunch of bs and liars.. I wouldn't stay there!!! read more

We stayed here as a family. Our initial impression was that the room was clean and well appointed. After a couple of days of having the room cleaned our opinion declined. Dirty towels were left on the floor, empty pizza box trash left in the room and the floor was clearly not vacuumed. Our first night there we ordered dinner from the cafe downstairs and it took over an hour. The breakfast area was out of silverware, the prepared food was not regularly refilled and the area was kind of a mess. The hotel seems to have good intentions but it's clearly not well executed. Kind of a disappointment. read more

The hotel was a great location ! Breakfast buffet was a huge let down because serving cold French toast with warm bagels with egg and ham doesn't deserve the title of buffet ! Stayed here 8 days and they only served sausage and scrambled eggs twice ! Never any potatoes ever !they keep the food warm on a 3 burner stove which never ever worked for French toast !Not even a micro wave to try to warm up the cold food ! Stay for location not the food or be in for a major let down !!! read more
