What a fantastic hotel! I'm going to give it 5 stars even though you wouldn't normally call the Hyatt Place a "5-star hotel". The reason I am giving it 5 stars is because it is excellent at what it sets out to accomplish. The hotel is modern, clean, spacious and relatively inexpensive. For a great price you can get a spacious room with two beds and a pull-out sofa with room for my family of 5. This is a big deal when we travel because it is super convenient to avoid splitting my family into two rooms. Not to mention that we often simply can't afford two separate rooms when we travel. I love this hotel and what you get for the money. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean, the breakfast is more than adequate and the beds are comfortable. There aren't many other hotels that can match the Hyatt Place when you factor in what you get for the price. Thanks Hyatt Place for being there for this weary traveler and his family! read more

Checked in and we had a King with a pull out sofa. The toilet was so loose that it shook off its base- So they switched our room to 523 on the 5th floor- Everything seems ok- we settled into bed & turned off the lights- I got up to get my chapstick and turned on the lights- Well This was crawling on the floor towards my suitcase!!!!!! A cockroach! Also no hair dryer, broken bathroom door and no landline- Breakfast was ok - coffee not great- on a positive note It was Quiet and the shower was nice and hot. I'll never stay at another Hyatt like I have in past & thought they were nice. My wife and I were in town this past weekend for a funeral of a beloved Mother figure in our lives. We stayed at the Hyatt Place in Harbison, and what a major mistake it was! The place was AWFUL with all capital letters! For starters, we never got a room cleaning though the Hotel policy in writing on a ledger that clearly stated the room would be cleaned daily. Second, even when we called the front desk and requested that our room be cleaned, IT WAS NOT CLEANED! Additionally, the Hotel is not old I'm told by local friends, yet it is badly in need of repairs as the photos below clearly shows. We decided to leave the Hotel early and stay with a friend because we did not appreciate being disrespected and ignored after we had attempted to get our room cleaned. For the record, I have stayed in other Hyatt Place hotels in other cities and have enjoyed them, BUT this hotel was AWFUL in every way! I went to visit my granddaughter. We stayed at the Hyatt in Irmo, SC for 3 nights. When we got to the room and I was cleaning everything, in the shower was hair on the wall and the floor was filthy. They sent someone in to clean it. It smelled so bad and I kept spraying and the next day when we went back to the room we both couldn't stand the smell. I took the sheets off the bed and it had old stains that looked like pee all over it. I went downstairs and showed them pictures and they said they didn't have another room. I said I wasn't going to sleep in there with my granddaughter and after more than a half hour later they found a room. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. They will not refund me or do anything for me. DON'T EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! If I could give it a 0 I would!!!! read more

The property is a challenge. Toilet leaked in first room. after three trips down to front desk I was finally moved to a second room same floor. Broken window. I ended up making a trip to walmart for lysol and Febreze, dollar tree for flip flops because i did not want to walk on the floor in socks. Breakfast was poor. Holy Pot Batman. What is going on at this place? It smells like pot everywhere. In the parking lot. In the lobby. In the elevators. In the hallways. What is going on? The beds were actually comfortable! The rooms are also really weirdly large. It's great, but weird. The bathroom is so small you have to straddle the toilet to get Into the tub and close the door. If you don't flush the toilet just right, the handle gets stuck and keeps running. But then there's this huge open space with nothing in it and tons of outlets on the walls you can't plug anything in to. The towels are also really small. The amenities were empty in the shower. The staff were friendly but everyone was constantly on their phones. That's so weird. The breakfast was hot and kept full and rotated with fresh food. The lids were heavy on the Dutch ovens that the food was in and no where to place the lid without fear of it falling off the counter. it was ok, but for this price there are many other places to stay in the area that are nicer I have stayed, so I wouldn't stay here again. There are both good and bad things about this hotel. To start with the positives, staff are extremely kind and deliver exceptional service as well as rooms are very spacious. However, as a negative we encountered many bugs in our room and the shower water was rather cold. Overall, we would recommend staying at this hotel for the great value and service however we would recommend brining some raid. read more

They did offer continental breakfast but I was being held captive by a comfortable bed and overslept. This hotel has bed bugs! When I tried to speak with someone about this, I was told to wait bc the manager was on a personal phone call... When she finally made time to speak to me, she was extremely rude. She said they spray regularly and they couldn't possibly be bed bugs. She refused to listen to me and kept arguing with me about what they look like- even though I showed her side-by-side photos. I even caught several and gave them to the woman at the front desk! She refused to do anything for the inconvenience and told me she was "sorry if we truly had a problem with our stay." Two nurses (who coincidentally specialize in entomology) followed us out of the hotel and asked to see the photos of the bugs and the bites I receivedwhile staying in the room. Both confirmed they were in fact bed bugs. I cannot believe something like this happened, much less at a Hyatt. read more

This place is in bad shape. The window of my room was open on the first floor with a lot of water damage around the window. A bar of soap and shampoo bottles were left in the shower. I only had a third of a roll of toilet paper and the other roll was not there. No blow drier. Both ice machines on the 3rd and 5th floors were not working. The only positive was the French toast pieces at breakfast. Really disappointed in Hyatt. read more

Stayed here during a visit to Columbia and was quite pleased. Not far off 26, the hotel is located right next to a Cracker Barrel soooo if you're feeling hungry, you can always walk there because I didn't see too many other places to dine in the area. Parking is plentiful and they do not charge a fee to park your car so that was awesome. Walking in, I was promptly greeted by the young lady at the front desk and since I checked-in online, we were given our key in less than 2 minutes. The main lobby of the hotel is beautifully decorated for the holidays and the dining area, bar, and computer space are all located near the front desk. Our room was located on the 5th floor and I must say this was one of the quietest hotels I've stayed in. They have a sign asking that people keep their noise level to a minimum in the hallway are 9 pm and I was a little nervous about having a room right next to the elevator but I didn't have any issues with noisy people. The room was super spacious and nice. There was a desk area where I was able to do a little work, a "kitchen" area with a sink, the normal coffeemaker, and a small fridge too. The sofa was comfy and turned into a sleeper sofa (if needed) and the actual bed was huge and comfy but I didn't care for the super plush baby pillows or the stale smell in the room. The bathroom was clean and there were enough towels for use. I went searching for snacks and thought I could find a vending machine but what was I thinking, people don't have vending machines anymore...or do they? Anyway, I made my way down to the market (which is next to the front desk) and saw they had quite a few snacks from pretzels and hummus to cute little cupcakes. So I was actually happy that I was able to find something besides chips (they do have those). The young lady who helped me was kind enough to bring me some apple juice and didn't charge me either! Spreading holiday cheer I see:-) If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely stay here again. Great price. Great service. Great rooms. read more

I planned a big surprise overnight trip for myself and my husband. We both work 6 days a week, rarely have the same day off, and have a 9 month old baby to boot. I booked Hyatt Place on Feb 6th after researching hotels for the amenities I was looking for and received a confirmation number. In the next two weeks I received two more emails with confirmation numbers letting me know my stay was coming. The morning of check-in (the 16th) I received ANOTHER email encouraging me to check in online. I tried to do so, but the link failed and said I had to check in on arrival. On arrival, at 10:30 pm 10 days after I received the first of MANY confirmation numbers, I was told my card had declined at booking and I had no place to stay as the hotel was completely booked. I received no notice of any kind that my card had been declined, in fact I received the opposite. Well over a month of planning a fun, romantic night out was ruined, I was heartbroken, my husband was disappointed, and Hyatt refuses to take responsibility, just saying that I was supposed to have received an email and something must have gone wrong. They gave me points on a membership but I definitely don't trust them enough to EVER book with them again. read more

Booked a room last minute, I was given a rare as a non-member for $95 (before tax). My room was a clean, king sized bed room with an on-suite. Clean, and friendly. My reservation was made through their reservation line and they said my FEMA voucher was accepted. When I arrived for check-in i asked about the paperwork I needed to sign for the FEMA voucher and was told they do not accept them. The front desk manager asked to see if my card was charge for the 2 nights and it was. She proceeded to say they don't accept it and will look into giving me a refund but she has to wait until the general manger to comes in the next day. Then I expressed my concerns about me traveling from Asheville where it was destroyed by Helene and I was late for a funeral. Next the front desk manger she will follow on it and look into a refund and I should go ahead a check in so I did. The next morning the staff did not know anything about my situation and said there was not any notes about it. Tony was called in who the front desk manager. He called the front desk manger and had her on speaker then he asked her to tell me what she said about the voucher. Shortly after she said we don't accept the voucher. Tony removed the phone before I can speak to her and said she told you we don't accept them. After calling the management from the reservation line I was told I would be penalized if check out early. The front desk manger had me check in knowing I could not check out early with pay for it after I expressed the devastation in my city. read more

The hotel was clean but the service was horrible. I made a reservation for four rooms back in January 2024 for a check in date of August 31-September 2, 2024. After one night stay in one of the four rooms it was determined the next morning that the entry door did not lock properly as it should have thus leaving the room and my guest in an unsecured room the entire night. This was definitely a public hazard safety concern that required an OSHA complaint. Also I was not able to get a handicap roll in shower assessable room for my 84 year old mother who is in a wheelchair which meant she had to stay in a room with a tub/shower combo for two days. There was limited towels and washcloths available, no trash cans and limited toilet paper. There are no microwaves on the premise at all. If you wanted to reheat your food you will have to go to the hotel across the street or the nearest gas station, completely absurd, and unacceptable. The staff was very irresponsible in attending to my guess in assisting with additional linen. The so-called continental breakfast is not worth the stay. The value in price of the hotel is definitely worth looking elsewhere. Definitely reconsider before you book the Hyatt. read more

This hotel is old and need serious renovations. The sinks are outside the bathroom, there are stains on the floor and sofa and the room has an odor. The customer service was the a 7 out of 10. There were some staff that had an attitude towards you. read more

95% of the parking lot was blocked off w/ yellow tape for a hospital sleep study being conducted on the entire 2nd floor. I rode around the parking lot also noticing another guest doing same as we simultaneously shrugged our shoulders, gesturing w/ our arms raised, what is going on here. No access to the entire front of the hotel parking lot. I did not feel safe. we were told by customer svc the parking lot was to be repaved. The wrinkled bed sheets & pillow cases were unkept and clearly unchanged for some time. wrinkled towels appeared to be previously used, not crisp or fresh. bathroom door had obviously been pried/forced open. wood on bathroom door cracked and splintered significantly damaged. furniture was nasty, unclean. Very polite and professional staff! I had a king suite. Clean hotel and room. Nicely appointed and up to date. Free breakfast included with typical free breakfast fare. There are also snacks and sandwiches/salads for purchase throughout the day and room service too. I used the workout room which was small, clean, and equipped with 2 treadmills w/ personal tv, 1 step machine, 1 bike, earbuds, water, and towels. Our room was spacious with a large sectional couch, desk, bar area and fridge. The bathroom was tiny but new/clean and good water pressure. One problem I had was that the fridge was not working, but I called the front desk and they sent maintenance up to fix or replace it. The other problem we had was the ac turned off in the middle if the night and I woke up in an 80 degree room! I reset the thermostat and it cooled back down. Great location, close to tons of restaurants and shops. Great value for your money. read more

You can tell they tried to renovate as cheap as possible left popcorn on the ceilings, and cut new carpet in around the vanities. Ice machines didn't work on any floors leaving you to go to the desk when you got ice it had black stuff what appeared to be mold or dirt... the breakfast was disgusting. BED BUGS!!! If I could leave less than a star I would. This place is the absolute worst Ive ever been to. I was put here by my employer for 2 nights and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Mold on the shower curtains to the point that it was pink at the bottom from how long it has been since its been washed or replaced. Bathroom curtain ripped, stain on the carpet, mold and dirt on the comforter and to top it all off I got but by bed bugs!!!!! Breakfast food is dry and awful. No waffle maker, no cereal, no bagels, no microwave! I mean this place is the worst!!! You might be better off sleeping in your car. read more

Ok so i will keep this short and simple. The people at the counter were disrespectful except the one night desk guy with dreads he was nice. There was a coffee cup that the cleaning crew found acceptable to leave it looked like... well you judge for yourself.[picture below] Also they tried charging us for a long distance call and the place we called had the same zip code it was 3 minutes away. The hyatt is also anti-ADA. My mother is disabled so she requested that she get a room close to the elevator, where everything was inverted to the right side like room 615 and she requested a high floor...none of those were completed we got a low floor we got the furthest room from the elevator and it was roon 325 so everything was inverted to the left side. They said they will not give anyone even handicapped people the ability to book a specific room in advance. Never again will we stay here. read more

This place served its purpose. We were weary from our drive and stayed here one night. The pool was small, but clean, and there are a few spots to lay in the sun if you are so inclined. Our room was clean, but the doors were really thin; we could hear everything going on in the hall and in the adjacent rooms. There is a 24/7 menu which includes flatbreads and salads and appetizers, and there is a nice little spot in the lobby with a bar and a kitchen. The staff are helpful and if you're staying for business alone I can imagine this place would be a good spot. The breakfast is great. A buffet filled with healthy stuff (an unhealthy stuff). Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon (the bacon tasted like crap), sandwiches, bagels, fruit salad, cereal bar, oatmeal (kind of looked more like gruel). And Starbucks coffee. Lobby has small bar and complementary breakfast with most anything you want from sausage biscuits & waffles to healthy options such as oatmeal & granola. Only item I did not like was the type of Starbucks coffee they serve which was too earthy and bitter for my taste. The second you walk in, you are greeted with a trash can full of water from a big gaping hole in the ceiling. And that's a pretty good indication of what you're in for with this hotel. The outdoor pool is shut down and nobody has any clue if or when it will ever reopen. Fitness center too. They claim to have a free breakfast, but they never bother to refill it once it's set out. We had to go out and get breakfast because there was no food for us. Housekeeping only comes if you're a long term stay, and then it's every 3 days. Otherwise, you act as your own housekeeping. There are dead bugs in the lobby, cobwebs in the corners in the room, and dust on the curtains. Everything is worn and dirty. There's only one working ice machine, on the fifth floor. All the others are marked out of order. The staff are all very polite to your face, but you can tell they are doing the bare minimum to actually keep the hotel operating and make your stay pleasant. I consider this a cautionary tale of the perils of using Hotwire.com. The 2 worst hotel experiences I have ever had, happened because of Hotwire.com. Clearly they don't care about booking me a good hotel room; they only care about selling hotel rooms no one would book otherwise. So yeah, never again!!! read more

Been to this hotel several times now through an employer. I've had to get a new room almost every time but this is the worst. First time there were 6 thermostats and parts lying on the table that no one knew how they got there so I was just given a new room. Second time my door was cracked open with the door lock when I first got to the room, didn't even want to walk inside. This time it was clearly never cleaned. Someone's dirty soaps left in the shower, lip gloss still on the floor in plain sight. Not to mention a SPOON and candy left by the pull out bed. I am convinced they don't clean this place ever. I like the Hyatt Place model and floor plan. They're upscale without being pretentious. The restaurant and bar area is not overly spacious but does a nice job of holding the guests there. The complimentary breakfast is well prepared and the space is neat and clean. The room was clean, the linens were luxurious, and this was an great stay. The location is convenient, but a little difficult to get to if you don't know where you're going. There isn't much to do within walking distance, but there is lots of shopping nearby, and there are many restaurants close by. read more

After staying at other Hyatt properties in other states, I looked forward to being taken care of by a friendly staff and having a comfortable stay. Upon check in, I was greeted by a friendly staff member who ensured I had everything I needed and went so far as to ask if I needed a tour of the gallery area. My room was clean and comfortable, just as I expected. I left for work on a late night project and upon my return stopped for a snack at the front desk. This time however, I was greeted by a different staff member who seemed to be annoyed with my need for a cupcake. After telling me they were out of the kind I wanted, she packed them away and was again perturbed by the fact that I picked a different flavor. All the while she never really made eye contact but instead carried on a conversation with another employee. The attitude this employee in the hospitality industry had, was anything but hospitable. I am disappointed by the level of customer service I received for $160/night and for this reason I will not be returning to this location. I will instead take my business to a Hilton brand hotel where my patronage is consistently appreciated. read more

This hotels looks better on paper than in person. It's reasonably priced for all the amenities, including free continental breakfast, free WiFi, and HD TVs. However... the free breakfast was horrible - very limited options, gloppy oatmeal, unappetizing fruit, cramped self-serve area. No vending machines - but you can buy premium beverages from the combination front desk-cafe-bar. Although it's new, the whole building feels confining, with dim, narrow hallways and over-stuffed rooms. To get your baggage cart from the covered entrance to the elevator requires weaving around furniture in the lobby. The rear entrance, which is closer to the elevator, does not have a ramp for the baggage cart. On the plus side, it's right off the interstate. And right next door is a Cracker Barrel, where you can get some country cookin' for not a lot of money. read more

The bathroom looked unfinished and our shower was conspiciously missing the wall soap holder...The closet was super small and the lights in the room made the walls seem yellow. I worked for a beautiful Hyatt in Orlando so I was super stoked to stay at one of their other properties but we were sorely dissapointed. The redeeming aspect was the free breakfast. I enjoyed the fruit and mini egg sandwiches. Truthfully, I love the microwaved egg sammies at Dunkin Donuts and these weren't much different. I also loved the Starbucks coffee and mini donuts :) We certainly wouldn't stay here again but if you are in need (as we were), we at least didn't get bed bugs. read more

This Hyatt Place is sort of a mainstay in my southern travels. Back in my previous job days, I racked-up about 17 nights at this hotel in about seven months. It was becoming such a second home that they assigned me room 608 every time I checked-in. Back then, the hotel was still fairly fresh and well-run. Fast forward to today... The hotel isn't a rat hole, don't get me wrong, but the rooms are on their way down the old proverbial hill so to speak. The shower wall of the room I was in had cracks and the shower curtain rod was dropping down and about to fall with every sliding of the curtain. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming still; however, the check-out process and paying part of the balance with a different card whilst allowing the remainder to fall on the "pre-auth" card was quite a challenge that they could not easily figure out with a conniption. I could have argued my case and had them call Hyatt support, but I was already impatient enough. I also take issue with the fact that the going rate for this hotel is now $99-$116 per night. I believe this is slightly too high for a property of this calibre especially when considering that a brand new Hyatt Place just up the road goes for $86 per night! read more
