No matter where you live, fresh peaches are always ridiculously overpriced. But, they are so so so much better than what you get at the grocery store! I hate to say this, but it's worth the extra money. on our last trip we had bought some fresh peaches at the Weatherford farmers market, and they were pretty expensive. This trip we stopped at the Hutton Peach Farm to see what they had. They were a little bit cheaper than the farmers market, and had a large variety of other products for sale. we got some peaches, and I got a jar of red pepper jam, that was so good! If you're in this area, it's worth stopping to see what they have, and yes, the peaches were delicious!I will definitely be back! read more

On a friend's recommendation, my husband and I drove 2 hours round-trip from Denton. I was so excited about a little road trip for some Texas peaches for baking. I work for a local deli/market where we cook and bake and so I was purchasing some for myself and my boss. We arrived a bit after 9 am, when they opened. Upon walking into the door of the shop, we were only greeted with--"we only take cash or check." No hello, how are you, thank you for coming in, can I help you. My husband and I looked around a bit and it took me some time on what quantity to select. I asked the lady how many cups does one peach yield. She gruffly answered, "I don't know anything about cooking or baking, I am just an enthusiastic clerk. Google it." Okay fine, I guess that was a dumb question. After deciding to purchase 1/2 bushel and a large basket of peaches, three tomatoes, a jar of bread and butter pickles and pickled beets and dropping $115, I requested a receipt (for my boss). Grumpy lady wasn't happy about that, but she quickly wrote on a paper receipt the total amount. I asked her if she could write down the amount for the small basket--she pushes the paper and pen in my direction telling me to write it down and she would sign it. And proceeds to angrily say "I have customers!" (There was 1-2 customers in line behind me that she had already started to help.) Seems I was no longer a customer once she had my money in hand. Upon payment, she couldn't be bothered to thank us for our business. I left so upset that my peach outing was ruined. I will never go out of my way to go to this farm again. There ARE peach farms closer to my home. Customer service was absolutely terrible. I work for a small, family-owned business and I know how critical it is to be nice and helpful for customers when they walk in the door--because there are plenty of choices out there for shopping! I have been shopping with Hottons peach farm for years. I would attend the peach festival in Weatherford (Parker County) as far back as 1994. It became something we looked forward to every year. Everything peach from Salsa, ice cream, cobbler and various other peach recipes. It was actually by mistake that I found out that the peaches sold at the festival were not necessarily local peaches. It depends on the local harvest conditions, weather, peach type, and various other factors determine the availability of local peaches. Hutton for not just peaches but other fresh produce like watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers, okra and a variety of freshly canned salsa, pie filling and other items. read more

It's a real orchard where the peaches you're buying are likely topped with a couple of green leaves from having picked the day before. We make the long trek out to Hutton Peach Farm every year around Peach Festival time. We don't go to the festival, though, because it's sooo crowded. They have 1/2 bushels of peaches in various sizes and prices, as well as other really good-looking produce, jellies, etc. It's a small place, but they pack a lot of stuff in it. You walk in through the area where they're separating the freshly-picked peaches into boxes. I've never been disappointed with these peaches. We bought a 1/2 bushel this time and will share them with family and friends (and make some awesome peach pies, too!). Their peaches are always fresh, sweet and juicy after they ripen. Oh, and I bought a huge tomato - looked like a Beefsteak Tomato, but not sure it was - and had it for dinner that night. Just the tomato. It was wonderful. We drove out to weatherford just to visit Hutton Peach Farm. My first thought was, this place is so cute!. We ended up purchasing a watermelon and some peaches from them. The watermelon was huge and so....so sweet and crisps. Probably one of the best watermelon I ever had. The peaches were also sweet but it tasted better when they are soft. When you bite into the peach, it's sweet, flavorful, and juicy. Only if the drive wasn't long, we would totally drop by every weekend. Just any FYI- they only take cash & checks, they do not accept credit cards or debit cards. So be prepared to have cash on you, if you're planning a visit. read more

Delicious peaches this year. Well worth the drive and we picked up extras for friends, neighbors and co-workers. They have other fruits and veg at very good prices. We've already been there twice this year and plan on going back again (and maybe again after that) during this excellent 2019 peach season. It's a long drive from Plano to the Hutton Peach Farm (84 miles), but WELL worth it - time wise it was about an hour 20, and would have been less were it not for construction areas which never seem to go away. Red glow peaches were in season during our visit and if there is a better peach around, we have not found it. Hutton's pricing is fair and the peaches are gorgeous. The atmosphere is friendly and folksy. The young lady working Tues (6/27) was absolutely delightful. She was helpful, knowledgable, and made the visit very pleasant. We seemed to have led the pack from the east and we heard her go over "the spiel" a couple of times and she sounded just a enthusiast each time as she had been the first. In addition to peaches they have other farm produce, most of which I assume is grown locally. Some of the produce appears to have been imported for customer convenience, but the only item we ran across which appeared to have been stored were some VERY large cantaloupe looking melons which had been refrigerated somewhere along the way. The peaches were carefully placed in baskets or boxes and you can spend as much or as little as you like. A prime 1/2 bushel market price the day we visited was $48 and, as has been noted in other reviews Hutton's operates on a "cash and carry" basis although they do accept checks. Hutton Peach Farm is a true gem - laid back, clean, and well stocked. Highly recommended. read more
