Once we started trying to price-out upgrades we got the feeling builder was not liking the idea of building a custom home for us. Maybe he wanted to build it his way but I wanted to make some minor changes. We had to back out of the deal but only after spending about 800-1000 dollars on a plan he approved and said he could build, turns out long story short he asked for me to carry out all the costs. No hard feelings but didn't like that my time and hard earned money was wasted, but also missed out on some other decent options as the market really picked up.

I did have good interactions with a main player within the business and was interested in continuing things so we could move ahead. Things were going well until I had to deal with Caroline and then all communication stopped. Attempted to reach out a few times and never heard back. So had to move to other builders since one cannot build a home or buy a home if there is NO communication. This person is a weak link and if I encountered this problem, others will. Even if this person is a relative, it would be wise for business for her to be replaced with someone who is interested in furthering the sales of this business.
