Disclaimer: I have not purchased any goods or services from this company. I did, however do some research because I wanted to buy a car carrier trailer from this company. After reading many complaints about this business not having the proper business license and not providing titles to the trailers they make and people not being able to register their trailers with the DMV, I checked on them with the Better Business Bureau. They have a grade "F" with the BBB, are not BBB accredited, have had 31 complaints filed against them since they opened for business in 5/2010 and have 10 unanswered complaints. I am posting this review because Hurricane Cargo does mass advertising on equipmenttraderonline.com, E-Bay, racingjunk.com and other websites where trailers are sold. Worst experience in trying to buy something EVER! I so wish I would have done the research on the lack of customer service this company provides. I placed an order for a trailer in October of 2012. I specifically told them I did not want the aluminum trim around the outside of the trailer, well they built it with the trim anyway. I refused to pay and they refused to fix. They wanted to charge me an additional $800 to fix their mistake, WTH!! They said I could pay to fix, or I could have my deposit back, then went back on that and said they would keep the deposit. I ended up giving them another chance and it is now February 5th and I still do not have a trailer. The trailer is finally done, but they are trying to get me to overpay. Saying they will not accept my credit card deposit, and now want me to wire in the total (including the credit card deposit) and then once they receive the wire, they will refund my original credit card deposit. Yeah right! The worst part about this is their communication. It is horrible! Nobody gets back to you, nobody cares, nobody follows up. I even figured out who the owners were and cc'ed them in emails. You would think they would care, but NOPE! Bottom line, you get what you pay for. I thought I was getting a great deal and I am getting hosed. I can only imagine how poor quality this is going to be if and when I ever receive it. Lesson learned! read more

I ordered my trailer on the 1st of February. I did not get great customer service. Following up with customers is not their strong suit. To their credit, Hurricane Cargo delivered my trailer on the 9th of March. The story is that the upgraded aluminum siding was back ordered. It was only 33 days over due :). I was able to get the license plate (We do not title trailers that weigh under 2000 lbs in my state) from my county tag office with no problems at all. I received a Bill of Sale and a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin when I picked up my trailer. I have no complaints about the quality of the trailer. It pulls great and it is made exactly as I ordered it. I am VERY happy with the product. i think it is important to note a few things about buying direct from the Manufacturer/Factory: 1) You are NOT buying from a retail center. 2) You are NOT paying retail prices. 3) You are NOT going to get much customer service. 4) If you need your hand held through this process, you are better off buying from a retail center and paying their markups and getting better customer service. You do get what you pay for and you are not paying for customer service at a factory. 5) If you can handle the poor customer service you will receive a high quality trailer at a much lower price than a retail center. This mode of purchase is not for everyone. You must know what you want and be patient and persistent when calling and dealing with this company. They are very good at building trailers. They are very BAD at customer service. Understand what "Factory Direct" means before you buy and set your expectations accordingly. read more

I bought a trailer from them a year and a half ago. Overall not a bad trailer great price. One tire blew out in first 500 miles. Extender piece on the cargo door broke first use (cheap hinge) but overall a nice trialer. i bought several extras like the viynal walls what a rip off. They are particle board with a coating. Should have not wasted the money. The real issue now I have some damage to the trailer from a storm. They will not return my calls (I have left 22) messages. They wont return the trailer repair place who is trying to buy parts to fix my trailer. DO NOT buy anything fro these people. They will NEVER answer the phone or call you back. I have left message after message. Sent emails. This is the worste customer service ever. read more

I worked with Hurricane/Husky Cargo's salesman Rick Tumbleston for a couple of weeks designing the gooseneck car trailer I wanted, the end price being $21,000. On December 5 I wired them a $10,000 deposit for the trailer that was supposed to take 6 weeks to build. On January 6th I asked for an updated completion date, but Rick wouldn't respond. I finally called on January 8th and spoke to a woman in the office, who told me Rick had apparently never turned in my order! I spoke to Rick and demanded my $10,000 deposit back, which he tried to fight but finally agreed to do. It's now January 24th and Hurricane Cargo/Husky Cargo is refusing to give me my deposit back. I was forced to file suit against them today to get my $10,000 back. read more

Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. They installed a circuit breaker panel in my trailer and wired it incorrectly, causing it to catch fire. They refused to pay for the damages and told me I was out of luck! read more

Contracted to purchase a 24' V nosed car trailer on Feb 14, 2013. No communication after the order but was ready March 5. One hitch at pickup time, 3/8 instead of 3/4 plywood walls were installed. I was offered an option refund but negotiated a interior plywood kit to go. The trailer appears to be well built, and towed well 800 miles back home. I read all of the negatives before purchasing my trailer. Pricing wise, Hurricane is down on the deck, their standard package is filled with upgrades costing well over a thousand dollars more from other dealers. I believe they are a true value within the industry. A hint for people writing negative reviews when they have not purchased a product or had personal dealings, GET A LIFE, BONE HEAD!!!!!. I have a hard time believing some of the garbage feed back by "faceless" people. My experience was as good or better than expected. Before ordering, I called a craigs list seller with a new Hurricane trailer for sale, being concerned with the negatives, he said he hauls them north to Maryland for resale and has purchased 4 units without incident. I would purchase another if I needed too. read more
