Hello, This is my first review on Yelp, please read the…read morewhole review if you can as I put a lot of thought into this. :-) For those TL;DR readers: * 45 minutes total time in the office * - Verifying current info about me * - Initial assessment by nurse/assistant * - 20 minutes with PA Abel-Williams !!! * - Follow up by nurse/assistant with scripts, info and Q&A. * - Blood draw for tests Staff was professional, smiling, looking into your eyes (important for me), making sure your questions were answered completely. I felt like I mattered as a patient and not just a billable account. I will recommend HFMC - Milford office to anyone who is looking for a well run patient focused facility. Long~ish version: (about 3 minutes read) I have been going to Milford Family Practice for over 40 years when my parents arrived in Michigan in 1974 with 4 kids. Dr.'s Booth, Martin and Rosella were the best physicians I had the privilege of knowing growing up in Milford. I didn't realize at that time that a doctor could have such an influence on a person. One of fondest memories was Dr. Booth seeing the family in the local grocery store and asking how my brother's poison ivy was healing. She had seen him 2 weeks prior. She must have seen dozens of other patients, but she remembered and was doing what a doctor does best, looking out for her patients well being. I agree there was a time when the office was not run as efficiently as possible and I also had occasions where I waited more than 1 hour for a scheduled appt. But that was when they were managed by a different organization, and it was around the same time as the reviews from 2016. I did not blame the Dr's I blamed the organizations that previously ran the business. I recently went in for my yearly checkup. I scheduled an early appointment knowing that Dr's & PA's get busy by the end of the day. Since being acquired by Henry Ford Health System I was ready for any delay that may have occurred, just in case. I brought a magazine I had wanted to read, and I was disappointed I didn't get to read the magazine as thoroughly as I wanted to. But that was a good thing. The longest time I waited was to be taken to an exam room, perhaps 5-7 minutes. From there I was not left alone for more than 2 minutes. Between the nurse/assistant doing a pre-eval, to PA Abel-Williams spending more time with me than I expected, to the blood draw, to the review of what I came in for, and did we meet your expectation to answering questions...it was all efficiently run, but not like an assembly line. It felt like they valued my time and me as a person. My last doctor appt was last year almost to the day, for the same reason an annual checkup. PA Abel-Williams was the same person I saw and she remembered me and asked about my kids and wife, and somehow remembered where I worked. (I think she takes really good notes!) Her manner and professionalism was, is, amazing. I felt at ease in the exam room as she explained to me what she was doing and why. Listening to my breathing and my heart function, asking about life style, exercise, eating and drinking, all things you expect and hope for. I have not left an appt with her feeling like she missed something, or wasn't trying her best to care for me. I went in to the appt with high expectations and left having them all met. After the test results came back I received the standard mail with the numbers and ranges, what's normal and what is outside of norms, but also a summary by her of what the numbers meant and why I didn't have to be concerned with the any result outside 'the norm'. She pointed to a question I asked her about the new cardiac risk algorithm used to evaluate risk, and she said my risk factor was fine and complemented me on knowing about the new method risk is assessed. That was a nice personal touch, and I appreciated that. To reiterate: I will recommend HFMC - Milford office to anyone who is looking for a well run patient focused facility. Kevin

Second bad review I have ever written for a business, I've written quite a few reviews In my day. I…read morelove praising small businesses! That said: This office is terrible. Save yourself the headache and disrespect. Maybe if they get a new manager and change some policies here they would be decent. But as is, I've never been treated so poorly by "medical professionals" Pros: receptionist and nurses polite and professional Cons: Not letting you see actual doctor. -------office policy is to not actually introduce you to the ob/gyns, EVEN when pregnant! ------They just make your "doctor appointments" with the Physicians Assistants, so if you need the actual Doctor during your delivery you will be meeting them for the first time. ------ they do not actually deliver babies in the office, they send you to the hospital with all different staff and environment. (This is a con for me but perhaps not for you, I wanted to feel comfortable in this new and intimidating journey of childbirth) ------no one in this office, not even the manager is able to give you a ratio of natural child births vs C-sections (higher then 30% cesarean is a red flag) Unprofessional office manager ------Good luck getting your records transferred from here, I wanted a second opinion and tried to get my records sent for that purpose, and was hounded by their unprofessional office manager, Suresh, about my bill! ------had only been there 2 times, both this month, and haven't even been sent a bill in the mail yet- yet he demanded payment before he would send my records. ------He not only refused to send my records to Henry Ford Hospital but tried to charge me $175 for sending them to me- when it should've been free to send office to office. ------ I legitimately had to have a 3 way phone call with Suresh and Henry ford records department for him to be willing to send them my records. He proceeded to talk over Henry Ford's employee. ------after sending, and having Henry ford send a total of 4 requests of release of records, Suresh still refuses to send my records. Again, Physicians Assistants replace DOCTORS ------a PA did not get the same training and schooling as a doctor, or the same scope of practice: they are not the same!!! There is a good reason they are required to practice under a legitimate DOCTOR. ------when I asked if I could meet with the doctor Nicole, the physicians assistant, condescendingly asked if I "even knew what a PA is". The answer was yes, which is why I, a newly first time pregnant woman, asked the question ------when I asked the PA (Nicole) about what Deletion 22 was, because she was testing me for it she told me I "don't need to worry about it, it's not important you know...it's for the doctors, we need to know"- I was completely put off by this because I should absolutely know why I'm being tested and billed for any tests performed in ANY doctors office- especially a test relating to one of the most common genetic mutations.
