Agree with all of the reviews so far. stay far away from Mississinewa Management!!…read more bathroom ceiling gushed water one weekend. it tore a hole in the ceiling and got moisture in the walls. management fixed the leak from the bathroom above us, but never addressed the hole in our ceiling/moisture/mold. the leak happened again a few times, maintainence would come and temporarily fix it until the next time. one of our windows would not lock, and the other one would not open. management didn't do anything about this either even though we reported it when we moved in. the place usually smells like cigarette smoke/weed most weekends, the smell gets into our apartment even with the windows/door shut. mailboxes are not available to use because they don't keep them up. also some of the washers and dryers are broken, and they keep increasing the price of a wash for some reason. they also wouldn't send out the water bills until a few months later. super annoying. when we moved in, the property manager gave us a key for apt "i" and we went back to upland and someone was living in apt "i." they were pretty pissed when we used the key to open the door (didn't realize there were people inside) and had to go back to the office to tell Anita there were people living in the apt. the old property manager Anita was pretty incompetent (when we moved in, but this new lady seems very nice. hope things improve, maintenance is terrible. Not worth the increase in rent they are wanting ($635). decent place as long as it's temporary.

Sorry for the long review, but I don't want anyone else to have to experience what I did in dealing…read morewith the Mississinewa Property Management and their building Casa Patricia. I lived in Casa Patricia for about seven and a half months, and you should stay away from this building. It's in terrible condition--reeking all the time, with dirty walkways and dog crap-filled lawns and little that is well-maintained--not to mention that the landlords are irresponsible and negligent. My garden-level unit was a terrible one from the day I moved in: namely, the tub's paint peeling so the drain got clogged sometimes, and a water stain on a wall that reeked on really hot, humid days. Alas that I didn't see these red flags and run. I later experienced issues with the sink's drain--dirty water would come up through the drain and into my sink. The first time it happened, I woke up in the middle of the night to water cascading over the counter and onto the floor. This type of backward leak happened three times total (the other two times the water didn't overflow the basin, fortunately), and each time after it was fixed I was told it would be fine. Then a few months later it would happen again. Most of the floods/leaks/backups in my apartment began at night, when I was asleep but my seemingly nocturnal vertical neighbor was taking showers (or something). I would wake up to the sound of water, notice the leak, and call the "emergency" number supplied by the landlord. Out of the twenty or so total times I called this number during my tenancy, only once did someone answer (that was the last time I had to call them, and I was shocked to hear someone else's voice after getting only the machine so many other times). When no one answered, I left a message and called the office during their daytime hours. Two separate instances, the people at the office were surprised to hear I had maintenance issues, as they hadn't received the message I left on the emergency number. The very wet, very unsanitary icing on the cake was when the bathroom fan and light fixture started leaking water during the night. It took the landlord over two days to get the leak fixed (two days of water dripping through electrical appliances!), during which time I all but moved in with friends due to the near-constant leak, experienced a flooded bathroom, and discovered that the landlord's sloth in fixing the issue caused water to leak through the wall and into the kitchen, thereby spoiling most of the food I stored in the cabinets. When the leak was finally fixed, they didn't clean up a single drop of the water, so I had to deal with buckets half-full of dirty water and a wet floor and plenty of other nasty things. Thanks to the CDC, I learned how to bleach-clean dishes and cans of food. After the ceiling leak, I expressed concern about mold growth due the water having gotten in the ceiling and walls, but those concerns were brushed aside. I ended up looking for a new apartment and, fortunately, moving into a different building a week and a half after the leak began. All of the leaks I experienced were caused by people above me, but I was the one who still had to deal with cleanup, not to mention the cost of replacing damaged items and the stress of suddenly having water pouring into your bathroom through unconventional and unsanitary means. I'm absolutely disgusted with the treatment I received while living in Casa Patricia. The landlords have no respect for their tenants and no clue how to assist them during maintenance issues such as leaks or floods. The fact that it took them over two days to deal with water coming in through electrical appliances seems an extremely dangerous and irresponsible negligence. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from Casa Patricia and Mississinewa Property Management.
