Specialties
At Hungry Caterpillars Daycare, we go above and beyond to make life easier for parents while ensuring the very best for your little ones.
We prepare fresh, organic, home-cooked meals daily using only the highest-quality ingredients, nourishing your child with wholesome, delicious meals. We even provide organic, pasture-raised milk at no additional cost, giving you one less thing to worry about.
With our thoughtful approach, the only items you need to bring are diapers and wipes—we’ll take care of the rest. Each day, we engage children in fun, developmentally appropriate activities to build fine motor skills and include daily playground time to encourage gross motor skill growth. We also focus on potty training, helping your child transition smoothly to preschool. For rest time, we offer a designated nap area where your child can recharge in a dark, peaceful environment.
At Hungry Caterpillars, we’ve created a loving, enriching space where children can thrive and parents can feel confident knowing their little ones are receiving the very best care.
History
Established in 2017.
Hungry Caterpillars Daycare began in 2017 as a way to prepare for the type of environment we wanted our future child to grow up in. What started as a personal project quickly turned into a passion for early childhood education. To back our hands-on experience, we pursued further education and earned associate degrees with high honors in the field. In 2019, the same year we welcomed our first daughter, we moved our daycare to North Beach to grow our business and refine our craft. Our mission has always been to create a space where children thrive; a place where we would be proud to have our own daughters grow up in. As proud San Francisco natives, we love this city, and are dedicated to going above and beyond for the families raising their children here, just as our families did for us. At Hungry Caterpillars, every family becomes part of our Caterpillar family, and we strive to ensure they feel supported, valued, and at home.
Meet the Business Owner: Bianca and Bryan H.
We are the owners of Hungry Caterpillars. We opened our program in 2017 with a simple goal: to create the kind of environment we would want for our own daughters first, and then for other families. Over the years we have worked closely with San Francisco families to build a program centered on trust, consistency, and thoughtful early childhood education. We believe children thrive in an environment that is warm, structured, and filled with meaningful opportunities to explore, learn, and grow. Today we continue to be closely involved in our schools and take pride in creating spaces where children feel safe, curious, and confident as they begin their educational journey.
