Just started year 4, second child at Pac Heights Kidz, and we absolutely love it! I don't think I've ever experienced more fear and anxiety in my life than dropping off my first child for his first day of preschool. He'd been nothing but glued to us for the first two years of his life, and now I'm handing him over to strangers? Doesn't feel right. There's no way they're going to be able to care for him and love him as much as we do! And... how are they going to get them to nap?? Welp, Nisha, Marinelle, and the whole team at Pac Heights Kidz come closer than I ever could have imagined. And they get them to nap. Not sure how, but they do. They are seasoned, professional, communicative, and incredibly loving childcare providers. From day one, they've made sure our whole family feels comfortable. They constantly communicate the events of the day through the app and regularly post pictures of your child so you can see their day and the smiles! It's great for a little break from work when you need a mental uplift. The first week is hard. There are tears. By the end of the second week, they're walking in on their own. No tears. Comfortable. My 3yo is in his second year now and loves his teachers. My 5yo, who just started kindergarten, misses his teachers and friends. He started at Pac Heights Kidz, went for two years, and then transitioned to Nature Kidz, their sister program. He genuinely looked forward to going to school! I cried at pickup on his last day because they've had such a positive and memorable impact on his life and mine. One of the best parts is seeing your child learn and grow. My oldest was extremely well prepared for kindergarten. He writes his name while holding his pencil correctly, knows all of his uppercase and lowercase letters, draws amazing pictures, knows the sounds of each letter, is starting to grasp early math, understands taking turns and sharing, and knows how to act appropriately in a classroom setting. They have an incredible emphasis on art, music, and dance. And more than anything, they focus on fun. When it comes time to start thinking about kindergarten, they'll hold your hand through that extremely confusing and important process. They've helped place their kids at many of the best schools in the city (public and private) and have incredible relationships with the leaders at those schools. I cannot recommend Pac Heights Kidz and Nature Kidz more highly. Our experience with them has been outstanding, and the care and love at the heart of their team permeates through every single person there. Dropping your child off for that first day can feel terrifying. Looking back four years later, I can't imagine having trusted anyone else with ours. read more

We were so excited after touring Pac Height Kidz when I was pregnant. The environment was warm and welcoming and the focus on curriculum and the arts really aligned with our vision for our son's daycare experience. We asked if a waitlist was available and were told to reach out after our baby was born, so we texted and emailed from the hospital to discuss availability for enrollment. My son is now two months old and despite weekly emails, texts, and phone calls, we have been unable to get ahold of anyone at Pac Heights Kidz. Daycare is competitive in San Francisco, but it's still not an excuse to ghost families hoping to enroll. read more

Pac Heights Kidz was our first daycare experience for our daughter, who started when she was about 2.5 years old, and it was wonderful - all of the teachers and staff were so friendly, caring and welcoming, and our daughter always came home happy and excited about her day. They sent lots of updates and pics, as well as a weekly newsletter about what the kids had got up to that week, so I always felt like I knew what was happening. I also liked how they put on lots of events to help you get to know the teachers and other families, and they put so much effort into helping our daughter (and us!) settle in. It really felt like a little community. We sadly had to leave due to relocating, but otherwise we would have happily kept our daughter here until she went to school - we were very sad to leave! Just wanted to take a moment to show my appreciation for the amazing years our kids have spent with Nisha and her staff of supportive and engaging teachers at both PHK and Nature Kidz. My older daughter and younger son each started at PHK as baby bears when they were around 18 months. The teachers were all very committed and engaged often going above and beyond, showing their love and devotion to the students by turning up as bday party guests on their days off! They have a great curriculum of actives, focusing on music, science, language and cultural appreciation. They adapted their topics each month based on the children's interests and invited community guests to come and share with the students (local dentists and firefighters etc!). They make learning fun focusing on a different country each month, encouraging families to share their traditions and perspectives. Over the years our kids moved up with the cohorts of their peers from Astronaut school, to Racecar school, to the great outdoors of Mountain Lake park. Our last couple years with Nature Kidz was such a blessing and I look back now so grateful for the time spent outside on hikes enjoying nature, doing projects, climbing trees, going on field trips to the Academy of science, the library, and the beach. I loved that the kids got to play outside and experience yoga, soccer, bikes & scooters but also still learned letters and rhyming and more traditional indoor classroom topics with their clipboards and blankets! Nisha and Marinelle put a lot of effort and time into building a tightknit community. The teachers posts photos daily and send email updates which were always fun to look at and chat about together with my kids. Throughout the year, the school hosted fun events parents were encouraged to attend during the holidays. They always plan special activities for Mother's day and Father's day and host school wide events for families to get to know each other. We have made some of our closest friends through our PHK community of families. They make the kids feel special and appreciated celebrating their birthdays and planning a big graduation ceremony each year for the students leaving for Kindergarten! I am so grateful to Nisha, Aaron, teacher Chris, Orrapan, Luis, Yare, Alexis, Jazmine, Marinelle and the whole gang! We miss you all dearly! My daughter Moli just graduated from PHK this summer and she started her preschool after covid quarantine with a lot of uncertainties. Our daughter, Eloise, joined PHK when she was around 20 months old and instantly loved it. She is pretty social, but also the teachers and the program are amazing. We loved the apps they used, which kept us updated on her snacks, lunch, diaper situations, and anything we needed to know about. We also got so many pictures each day, and it was great to see what she was up to. The weekly newsletter told us about the topics she learned about, and helped us be able to talk to her about what she was learning. The program kept her very engaged, from doing crafts, to learning about new topics, singing songs, playing outside, and going on neighborhood walks to the playground and library. Eloise learned so much during the year she spent there. And the teachers were amazing. They are all so kind and loving. Eloise would talk about them every day and be so excited to see them and her friends. Unfortunately, we had to leave the program recently as we just moved across the country. We really don't think we will find a program as good as PHK. We already miss it so much and are very grateful to the time and memories made there. read more

Our daughter started Pac Heights Kidz at 16 months and stayed until 3 yrs old. We loved having her at the school and she loved being there even more. I miss PHK and still wonder if we should bring her back. :p I really loved all the enriching and varying subjects that the kids were learning and the nurturing care of each of the care givers. I loved the apps they used keep us updated us with certain daily things and photos/videos to get a glimpse of their day. I could cry thinking about our daughter having to leave (we moved away) and wondering if she'll hold some memories of it. Luckily many pictures provided and keepsakes done.. the daycare provides opportunities for community with the families of the daycare and do after school events that made it so special. It is incredibly charming and structured .. it's not just a daycare and only play they actually learn a lot as well. I loved how they sent e-mails daily showing what they did for the day so I could reference that with my daughter and show her the pictures. Also They provide healthy fancy meals .. she was eating like a queen haha. And they had parent teacher conferences for the tiny tots .. everything was soo well organized and thought out. I was lucky to find Pac Heights Kidz right as they were getting started two years ago. My 1-year-old seemed to love social, energetic environments so I didn't want her home alone with a nanny. While searching for a share-care, Nisha reached out to me about the program she was starting in her home. Immediately upon meeting her and seeing her space I knew that I wanted my child at PHK. My daughter has been in the program for two years and we all love it. I've recommended PHK to several friends who have also become part of the PHK family. Why I recommend it: -- It's run by a family that is not only deeply kind and caring, but they're also practiced professionals. In other words, they're very organized and understand what it's like to be a working parent in SF -- The staff are incredibly warm and loving, and my daughter truly loves them. When she refuses, for example, to put on her shoes, we can usually get her to do it for someone she cares about (e.g. her favorite aunt). Most of the time it's one of her PHK teachers that she names. -- Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks a day, all provided... homemade, healthy, diverse, and delicious. I'm often jealous when I see what she's getting for lunch! -- The field trips are amazing and *included.* Academy of Sciences, Exploratorium, Urgent Care (to learn about healthcare), different playgrounds, Gingerbread House at the Fairmont, The GGB... I could keep going. But what's amazing is that the kids go safely off the premises to explore their community on a regular basis! -- Nisha and co often organize events to bring all of the families together. And all of the other families I've met through PHK are wonderful. It's a diverse group of people, all warm and down to earth. -- Good communication is so important with childcare providers and PHK nails this. They use an app called Brightwheel to keep parents updated through messages and an almost real-time log of your child's meals, naps, potty/diapers, etc. And they post photos and videos of their day to the Tinybeans app. I've loved taking a break from my day to check in on my daughter throughout her day. Our family has been associated with four preschools (under five different managements) and I can say, without a doubt, that our experience at PHK has been the best! We had the most incredible 5 (!!) years at Pac Heights Kidz and their sister school, Nature Kidz. Both our kids attended from the age of 18 months all the way into Kindergarten. We can't say enough good things about this program - the love of the teachers, the enrichment activities, the attention to our children's needs, the communication, the program design, etc. We are sad to have graduated and feel so lucky that we chose this preschool years ago. We love PHK! The entire staff is so supportive and warm for the kids and parents alike. We started our son just under two and were really worried about his adjustment since it was in the middle of covid during Aug 2021. All the teachers were very reassuring and our son adjusted quickly after two days, and he's loved going to school ever since. I love all the different activities that they do, including arts, and soccer and yoga. We were so lucky to find a spot for our 1 year old son. The school hadn't opened yet, but after meeting the director Nisha we knew we found the perfect place. We love that it's small yet they offer so much. Each day they introduce a different genre of music and lessons in Spanish. Each meal is cooked on site and they even have outdoor activities in their backyard garden. Our son has socialized well with the other toddles and is florishing as he develops new skills. We love the school and all the teachers. The ratio is 3:4, teachers to students. Figuring out childcare is tough as you want to provide the best for your child's development as well as a safe & happy environment that you feel comfortable with. To be honest we weren't sure about home daycares and were only looking at the Bright Horizons & such within the city. A friend of a friend had her daughter at Pac Heights Kidz and highly praised it, so we started to look into it. I am so glad we did and am very happy with our decision to have our son there. We recently moved and we definitely miss it! What we loved: - it was designed with love & care by a mom of 2 - the teachers are awesome - from their energy & attitude, you can really tell that its high quality care - exposure - the kids are exposed to music, learning, arts & crafts, outdoor play, etc. - structure - for the kids: keeping them on a routine throughout the day helps them learn & transition to pre-school when ready; for the parents: expectations & communication are clear & consistent - breakfast, lunch & snacks are all taken care of and are fresh & healthy - tech adopted - apps to share their schedule, enable messaging & sharing pictures throughout the day - this is really above and beyond and so appreciated! I have been incredibly happy with Pac Heights Kidz preschool for our daughter. She started in the daycare in October of 2017 and transitioned into their preschool program. The only reason why we left the program this past month is because we moved away. I am so impressed with their project based learning and teachers. Also they go out of their way to make sure that none of the children feel left out. Both locations are incredibly clean and well kept up as I have been there on numerous occasions for birthday party celebrations, conferences, open houses and holiday events. My son has been enrolled at PacHeights Kidz since they opened and we could not be happier. We previously were in a nanny share and were overwhelmed with daycare choices when we decided it was time to transition to that type of setting. Nisha, the owner and director, reached out to me about joining their program after seeing my pleas for help on the Golden Gate Mothers Group discussion board. After meeting Nisha and touring the space, I knew this is where I would be comfortable leaving my son while I worked. The space is clean, with clear areas for various types of play. There is an outdoor space that has toys as well as a garden that they "help" grow. Meals and snacks are provided and are nutritious as well as delicious (my son often eats extra portions!). The teachers are all personable and really seem to care about the kids. One of the greatest aspects of the program is that Nisha and the team work hard to share pictures and videos of the kids during the day so I can see what my son is up to during the day and feel confident that he's having a good time, which he always is :) They are music based which is so fun because my son comes home singing and always ready to dance. They also integrate Spanish into the program which is fun as we were already teaching him words. Nisha offers a great mix of play and education which keeps the kids stimulated and makes the day go by fast! I love getting the projects they work on, including a very nice Mother's Day present. Our son attended PHK for 2 years from age 14 months to 3 years old, so he benefited from both the daycare and preschool programs, until we moved abroad. When I first searched for a daycare, I found it very hard to leave my little one in the places I toured, until I found Nisha at PHK, I knew it was the one. And I was right. Nisha and her team create a warm and nurturing environment, where children grow happily and safely. They celebrate diversity, teach the kids about different countries and cultures, and many topics that kids find very interesting (such as at PHKU). I was impressed by the things my LO had learned at school, and how early he could count and recognize some letters. They learn about music and instruments, dance everyday, learn Spanish, have cooking classes, go to the playground, on field trips, etc. Nisha is on top of everything, truly reliable, always open to discuss and to contribute to anything that may worry parents, and plans carefully so that kids thrive. We recently left SF to move to LA, and possibly the hardest part about the move was the idea of taking our daughter away from PHK! Due to a transitional childcare situation, we decided to visit some daycares for our 15-month old. Nisha & team were a perfect fit for our family for the past 6 months. The environment is super positive, energetic, warm, engaging, organized and diverse. Within days, our daughter's vocabulary had exploded from being around so many other awesome kids. The teachers are absolutely incredible from drop off to pickup - you can tell this within seconds of being around them - and they do so many fun & smart activities with the kids. (I frequently ripped off games and food ideas from them.) PHK is also run incredibly professionally; this is a true business. Sure to appeal to the Bay Area tech parents out there, they communicate via some great apps with daily updates and photos (I got many smiles during meetings when I would receive a push notification about of a dirty diaper :) We were looking forward to keeping our daughter in the PHK community for several years. We started our daughter a few weeks ago part-time at Nisha's center and we are delighted! Our baby's day is rich in music, dancing, singing, and play and the teachers seem to love connecting with the kids. Nisha is a mother herself with prior working world experience and has focused on developing aspects of her daycare center that really appeal to me as a working mom - I am never able to do drop-off or pick-up so our nanny is the point of contact with the daycare, but I still feel very involved and aware of how my daughter is experiencing her day because Nisha posts daily video and photo feeds to a secure app that all the parents can review at any time. There is also a running summary of the basics - how much my daughter has eaten, her diaper changes, and her naptime are all logged in real time so that I can check in during free moments to see how things have gone. Also, it is amazing to have the food provided as part of the tuition. My daughter eats much better when it is a community experience with everyone sharing the same food. Seeing other kids trying the offered food helps her decide to try it too. And the convenience of not having to come up with snacks and lunches has been lifesaving. The facility itself is wonderful- brand new and so clean, with a fun private outdoor space. The music- and language-based curriculum really enriches the things we have tried to help our daughter begin to learn at home and I have seen her grow in leaps and bounds with just two days at week here. Further, the style of adult-child interaction is very loving and nurturing, with an emphasis on mutual respect, which parallels my daughter's experience at home and is in contrast to a previous center that we tried here in the city.
