I referred other clients, spoke positively about my experience, and routinely prepaid $2,000-$3,000 at a time because I trusted the relationship and expected it to continue.
In December 2025, I exchanged appliances for additional prepaid sessions valued at approximately $3,500. Given our history, I trusted those services would remain available for me to use. Unfortunately, I did not put the terms of that particular exchange in writing or establish specific guidelines regarding scheduling, transfers, refunds, or what would happen if circumstances changed.
That became significant when my professional schedule and increased need for therapeutic massage required greater flexibility.
Jointfull had a 48-hour cancellation policy, which I followed when conflicts arose. The larger issue became availability. As a solo practitioner, Ragena's schedule became increasingly full, and alternative appointments could sometimes be 30, 45, or even 60 days away. At the same time, I was expected to maintain a standing weekly appointment that often did not align with my schedule or therapeutic needs. Ultimately, my ability to reschedule through Square was blocked.
I tried several ways to resolve the situation. I asked to transfer my remaining prepaid sessions to another existing client whom I had originally referred, and I offered to receive repayment over time rather than requiring thousands of dollars to be returned at once. Those alternatives were declined, and I was told I could only use the remaining value through services.
The dispute ultimately resulted in litigation, and the court ruled in Ragena's favor. An important lesson for me was that I had relied on our long-standing relationship rather than documenting the terms and protections of the approximately $3,500 exchange in writing. I was UNABLE TO RECOVER most of the value associated with the remaining unused services.
I respect the court's decision. However, the legal outcome does not change my experience as a consumer. After approximately 3 1/2 years as a loyal client, advocate, and referral source who routinely prepaid substantial amounts, I was extremely disappointed by the lack of scheduling availability and our inability to reach a workable solution for services I had already paid for through an exchange of appliances she has had in her possession since Dec. 2025.
Based on my personal experience, I WOULD NOT USE THIS PROVIDER again and WOULD NOT PROFESSIONALLY RECOMMEND HER.
If you are considering a substantial prepaid arrangement, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing--especially scheduling flexibility, recurring appointment requirements, rescheduling restrictions, transferability, and what happens to unused prepaid services if circumstances change.
For therapeutic services where scheduling flexibility and continuity of care matter, I would also personally consider a team-based practice with multiple providers, not Jointfull Massage.
