Visitor parking was $13 for 3 hours and $17 for the entire day. While the campus was really nice, there were quite a few homeless people in the surrounding area.

It may be a tough commute some days... it may be expensive, but I have attended public university and private... the public system seems to be stacked against success. You can't get the classes you need, in turn you have to take additional unnecessary courses to keep FT status. In short, a disastrous experience for a freshman and sophomore. I transferred to a private school and it was a 180' difference. Classes were scheduled in modules to make sure everyone is on track and not taking unnecessary "Filler"classes. Teachers arrived on time. Class was held the complete time allotted. Deans, admin and staff were always helpful. The students vary in caliber at any school. You wants snobs, you can find them easily. The students who are serious about their future are quickly spotted if you look for them. If you want to make money... you have to spend a little to make more. Don't let the price hold you back. $5 for a cup of coffee is nothing to us now right? $40,000 a year to exit and make $70-$80/ hour is pretty damn good. Medical careers ensure a great income. Afterwards... you can reap the rewards.

Some highlights: --Quiet area for the ultra studious (a quiet no talking section on the back complete with individual cubbies in the very back of that section if you want to take it to the next evel) --four chairs in the front that are super lcomfortable and come with portable desks --really comfortable chairs throughout the library- not your typical sterile hard chairs --allows food and drink (that's a pro mostly but some could see it as a con if there's something particularly odiferous ;) --really good bright lighting --not filled with undergrads (no offense to undergrads at all, it's just that it's a bit more of a serious/older group that tends to be a little more quiet and purposeful, in general) --open to the public not just UCLA students The only major con is that the bathroom is old and outdated! Took a creative writing class on Zoom. I was warned by a friend not to take Ucla Extension, but I…read morehad to try it out. It was meh. I didn't have my instructor's email, and communication was very poor through Canvas, the online portal. Many email/messages unanswered especially from beginning of class. We were warned they would be busy. It was apparent. Office hours - It was on the original syllabus, but then it was taken off. Original syllabus stated by appointment only. But it was very difficult to make one. They would not give me a concrete date or time. I had to give my instructor my phone number, they said they would call, but never did. Instructor then gave me their phone number. I had to call them, and was rushed off after a 15 minute call. The instructor then refused to schedule more office hours. I found it unprofessional, and very off putting. It was apparent then that the instructor was not really there to mentor any students. I have never had this experience at UCLA where I had to give my phone number to a UCLA professor so found the whole situation weird. The class went pretty down hill after the cut-off date where you can get a full refund. I completed two degrees at UCLA and this isn't the same quality. I am glad I got a discount or else I would have been really disappointed. UCLA Extension is a different brand selling a very different product sub-par to UCLA degree programs. After this weird exchange, I decided to stop attending class. Ultimately I reached out to the administration who told the instructor they need to provide office hours, and instructor then obliged to give me some. At this point I was over it and stopped attending the 3 hour long weekly class. Classes are 10 weeks long. Zoom creative writing class sessions of 3 hours is rather painful. I would have preferred in person 100%. Class size of 15 is way too large, but we had two that dropped out and around 3 folks every class that didn't show up, so it was about 10 students each class - which still is large. Research the class and instructor very well before you commit your money and time. Admin emails seems to be run by overseas folks, and I'm sure AI in the future. They get back to your qs in a few days to weeks. Drop before Week 2 for a full refund minus fees

It makes a hell of a difference in your day, when this happens. The only downside is the café - the food is bland and overpriced. There aren't really any healthy options, so I often have to bring my lunch when visiting for day-long trainings. This location is conveniently near other banking institutions if you need to get dinero from an ATM, pay bills during lunch time, ect.
