This was just a horrible experience. Their customer service representative Christina, who is extremely rude, short, and just keeps repeating the same thing over and over again without explanation. It really just wasn't a friendly Service. Very transactional and not graceful or thankful for contributing to their auction. Service and auction fees are extremely high. Pick up window is very limited. I just definitely would not participate in another auction that they are hosting. Talk to a few other people who were bidding on items and they have the same experience. My recommendation to the company is to put Christina through customer service training and navigating conversations with clients appropriately. read more

I have bought several items from this company. It is an auction house , you get what you pay for , there is an inspection time set ,so you can inspect the item. Like a normal auction. You bring the receipt of purchase and understanding of what you bought. Along with the needed vehicle or trailer to transport the item. All sales final, no warranty expressed or implied. How hard is that for people to understand? The people that have given one stars maybe should understand that . If they don't, I suggest Amazon. read more

After reading the bad reviews, I'd just like to say that I've had 99% good experiences buying and selling with them. They don't have an open yard anymore so items will not get rained on, which was a huge problem I thought. Most of their auctions are closing businesses so there are some interesting deals there. One review said they sold $27,000 worth of their stuff and they only got $7000, but they only charge 15% so that makes no sense at all. Be sure to go to the preview days and don't spend tons of money on stuff that you have not seen. They don't post a ton of pictures so spend the extra time going to the preview. I have no skin in the game but wanted to say that I like this auction house and am a regular buyer and sometimes seller. I actually prefer you all not to bid though so I get it cheaper. read more

I worked a job here and looked this business up on Yelp. When I got there I couldn't help but notice the huge signs everywhere stating buyer beware - this is returned merchandise inspect carefully - sooooooooo I kinda think the people rating this place one star aren't really being fair. read more

Two days after the attack on the US capitol that resulted in protestor and police deaths by, among others, people holding Confederate flag, their employee supervising pickup, an older woman, was wearing a bright red hat with two big Confederate flags. Racist and unpatriotic company. Further, no one was wearing masks, there were absolutely no COVID-19 protections. Also disappointed that the electronic equipment I purchased had stickers with notes indicating that it was tested but absolutely none of them had power cables. The photos in their site were awful quality. Terrible experience as a buyer, seller, and general human being. read more

They took items out of my lot after I Previewed, Bid and Won.

Auction companies are all about reputation and while I was hoping Huisman would live up to theirs, they don't. You put things in the auctions and they post payments will be mailed on the 14th business day, nope doesn't happen. In this current auction, the 14th day was last Thursday, nothing in the mail today and when I called (today is Tuesday), they JUST went out because nobody was here to sign the checks last week. That is a poor excuse and poor results from an auction company. 14 business days is already long enough considering that does not count the weekends and any holidays so basically it results in over 20 days in most cases BUT to give an excuse that nobody was there to sign the checks, not acceptable! read more

Went back on his word to not charge us commission on items that did not sell due to reserves set. I felt so taken advantage of and he was disrespectful to us while on our property. Terrible business model, Sell broken item undisclosed, I bought a sofa for almost 400 and a saw for $100. Saw don't even turn on and sofa have a long rips across the seat, but they didn't take any picture to show it the rips only the nice part to get you bid up high. Believes that one star reviews for this company are unfair because there are signs posted stating that the merchandise this company is auctioning could be defective, and the buyer should beware. But there were no big signs when I went there. When I went to pick up the pressure washer and pay them $250. I happened to notice the small stickers that were laying all over the ground and still stuck on some of the merchandise that was outside. But the merchandise that was in the tent, and obviously shiny and brand new, had no tags. They had ALL been removed. But it was ALL RTV merchandise, possibly defective, and they were not telling anyone. Also when I picked up the pressure washer the four spray tips that were there the day before were missing. And I was told there was nothing they could do for me. But there was no one back there watching this stuff and anyone could have pulled a truck up and loaded anything. I rolled this washer to my car in the parking lot and loaded it in the back and no one was paying any attention to me. When I got this pressure washer home and started it, it blew oil all over my driveway. It took me hours to clean up the mess, and there is still an oil stain there today. I thought it had a bad crankshaft seal so I cleaned the bottom of the engine and the pump, then replaced the seal. Finally a working pressure washer right? Wrong. The next time I went to use it, I was cleaning the cement next to the pavers in my backyard. We had just had these pavers installed the month before. I was working my way around the corner and had been there for only a minute when the washer suddenly stopped. I walked back to find it sitting in the middle of my new pavers in a two foot in diameter and growing puddle of fresh oil, and it had self destructed from the sudden lack of lubrication. Turns out the engine case was cracked. And now the engine is destroyed and will never run again. My new pavers are stained with oil and it won't come off. I bought this pressure washer and paid top dollar for it to clean around my home. All it has done is make an oily mess everywhere and I have nothing for my money but grief. This company sold me a very shiny and new, but fatally damaged and returned tool. I don't think this is good business, I'm upset about it, and I'll tell my story to everyone. read more

This company conducts unethical business. They charge you commission for items that don't meet the minimum bids and are not sold. They don't have enough employees on preview day to assist with potential customers with questions or instructions how online bidding works. The owner works the "back screen" to get bids higher...unethical. Joe the salesperson failed to keep appointments. They promise providing you with security and after they have "lotted" all of your items they inform you that you must pay for security, they will not provide as promised. My wife and I went to the Carl Witek auction in Acampo CA on the 7th of Feb. We were well impressed with the organization and the friendliness of each of the auction employees that we had contact with. They did not appear to be uptight or stressed and that made for a more pleasant experience; fun even. The only reason this is not a 4 star review is that, without prior notice, they agglomerated some of the lots then gave bidders their choice of which of the lots they wanted. If you did not kn ow that this was coming it was difficult to adjust in the time crunch that is a live auction. read more

dishonest sales people-THEY TRY TO PIN STUFF ON YOU, stuff they auction off is 70% broken or not working at all, and sometimes after you buy the item, they disappear after you pay for them and go back to pick up the items. -yet they did refund me the money but still they made a HUGE hassle. SAVE your money. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! We spent nearly $1,200 on 31 lots of merchandise only to find that it had been left out in the rain. We bid on items that were dry. We understood that there was guarantee that these DRY items were in working order. We were not told that Huisman would do everything within its power to make sure we purchased damaged merchandise by leaving it to be flooded. Ridiculous. Trust and believe this is not over by a long shot. There will be negative ramifications for their absolutely criminal business activities. read more
