I went to see Dr. Hughes for a problem with an ingrown toenail. It had hurt sooooo bad! I do a lot of Zumba and some cross-fit - so - I think these activities caused the problem.
First, let me say that the ladies at the front desk were nice, funny and friendly. When I went, I thought that I would be looked after by the doctor's assistant or an understudy - but nope - the doctor came and did the work himself.
The wait (in the waiting area) was so short that I was assigned to a room before I could complete the paperwork. When he came and saw my arms were still full of documents, he apologized for the small stack of papers I was carrying, made some chit-chat and then to work on my toe (which - again - was in pain).
He was *very concerned* about my comfort during the procedure - adding more medicine to my toe to ensure that I would not feel anything (which I did not). I was totally comfortable. Afterwards, he carefully bandaged my toe and gave me instructions for caring for it. He said that if I had problems, I should contact him ASAP.
It is all healed now and I am a happy camper - back to the Zumba and cross-fit classes. I know I will need work on the other toe as well in the future, so, I know I will be back to get it taken care of.
All I can say is that he is an excellent doctor who actually cares for the well-being of his patients. For me, this combination is *extremely rare* in the medical system nowadays. I told other folks about him - and - as mentioned above, I will be headed back when it becomes necessary. read more
