I was able to find German-language books on any subject, and there is a pretty good English-language section there, too. A nice selection of history, gardening, cooking, fiction, dictionaries like Langenscheidt, what must be the largest selection of Teubner cookbooks on earth, Dr Oetker cookbooks, and more. The employees were helpful and friendly and helped me hunt for a book title I wanted. The employees were kind of funny, actually. I was trying to speak German to them, but they gave me a blank look and immediately started speaking perfect English back to me. I must have been murdering their language and didn't know it, or have a horrble American accent, or both. Oh well. Spending some time in this place is a nice way to enjoy the evening, pouring over books, dreaming of things you'd like to do or places to see, learning about the larger world around you.
