Short sighted, disorganized, non-caring, poor performing, aggravating to the consumer, disappointing, and more.
Bought two classic green machines brand new from local store. Allowed two days for assembly. Discovered the first part could not be assembled as directions indicated. Spent 5 hours Christmas Eve finding out that the "bushings" on the product did not fit in the wheel wells-a circumstance that baffled two local hardware workers, another local dad trying to build his, and two college grads with some ability to do-it-themselves. It turned out a mallet was needed to tap the bushings flat into the tires, a fact not mentioned in any literature anywhere. Attaching the end nuts was dicey. This is no job for one person.
Add in non-intuitive directions that didn't mention key ideas(keep the drive shaft level, crank on the pedals the opposite way), misaligned thread holes, a seat that won't stay adjusted, and so much more.
When we called the help line on the 23rd, they had closed for the holidays. Great, isn't a bike-based product a top five gift? Why shut down the lines during your most consumer-based sales time? The web site doesn't even mention the green machine as a product.
In this day and age, the product quality should be great, the instructions great, and the service great.
