WARNING: this is a biased review, i've been coming to this place since childhood for probably over…read more19 years. we live in times where the inauthentic slips into everything, where the things we are told to want are crafted for us with the best of commercial intentions in mind turning what used to be an act of getting together around a table into a confected reality, with people trying to feel special through a culinary experience, or writing about it, and chefs becoming more important than the person right in front of you. so coming back here every time i'm in town is the most sobering reality check. a place where the lady behind the counter is still the same lady behind the counter, as she has been for the last 25 years, with the same northern argentinean accent and stoic demeanor, a place where the guy behind the register, that always scared me a little, but just a little, is the same guy behind the register, grayer hair but still hair, same beard, same focus on each transaction and most of all a place where people are just normal people experiencing a normal meal they can afford without having to think how to make ends meet. 5* stars.

The churros were super oily and when we complained about how greasy they were, they gave us fresh ones that were just as oily as the first ones. We couldn't eat or drink any of it. Their food is ok. Portions are big. They are famous for their Milanesa. I am not a fan of Milanesa but that's is good. Their pizza and sandwiches are good too. But you got to try what started Manolo. Their churros. Still the best ever. Try one of each, simple, Dulce de leche, chocolate, and cream. Have it early afternoon so you can burn the calories at the beach without too much guilt. You haven't lived until you try the churros. The cure is great to at this location.
