International News is a decent little news stand…read more It's located in a corner of the Kingsway Mall (next to the Second Cup) so it's pretty hard to find unless you're actively searching for it. I come here if I need a quick refreshment, some gum, or something to read when I'm waiting for my sisters to finish shopping at the mall. They have a good selection of newspapers and magazines. The great thing about it is that they have some foreign newspapers and magazines as well. So you might even find a newspaper from your home country if you're lucky! The foreign magazines are a tad expensive, but that makes sense since they have to import them.

I went to their designated call button for online orders, repeatedly pressed the button, allowing time in between each press for a staff member to come from somewhere in the store. I see a staff member organizing shelves, I approach them and ask if they can help me that I'm there to pick up an order and nobody has come to help me. They said I haven't received a call and the I don't need to be rude to them. I paused for a moment confused, and then stated that I'm not being rude. To which point the staff member stated I was being rude and that they were only matching my rude energy. I said I wanted to speak with a different staff member so I didn't have to deal with them. The staff member then replied that too bad, they were the only person available, and maybe I shouldn't be so rude next time and that the call button isn't working and they work in customer service and know how people are. I responded by stating that I work in customer service too and know how to treat people and it wasn't my problem the call button wasn't working, I followed their process to collect my online order, it is not my problem their process is broken. The sales person then asked for my last name, I gave it to them. I had my order open on my phone with the bar code ready to be scanned, the sales person then stated they needed my order number and proceeded to grab my phone out of my hand without asking. As they entered the order number the sales person stated that maybe next time I could just go to the till and have somebody help me there. I said the reason I didn't go there is because they were busy helping other customers and I didn't want to be rude. As they walked away to get my books, I said I was going to leave a bad review and they responded with maybe I shouldn't be so rude next time. I have never experienced such rudeness in a customer service person and then be gaslight by the staff member in trying to make me out to be the bad guy simply because I was expressing frustration in a process. I never once raised my voice, swore or name called. I was simply trying to express my frustration. As someone who has spent their entire career in customer service and take pride and joy in customer service, I find it disappointing that this was the go to response from a customer service person. There is enough ugliness in the world, empathy and kindness when someone is expressing frustration about a process, goes a long way.

I am a fan of this book store…read more I am old school and buy books to read. I just have a thing about holding a book and reading it vs online or on a tablet. They have more than just books. They've got games, toys, and tonnes of other items to browse. There's also a Starbucks if you want to buy and coffee and book and sit and read for a bit. My niece and I checked it out for her spring break as they had a week of kids activities. It was super cool... and I learned about new toys that are on the market that I was in the dark about. The event started off with an employee reading a book t all of the kids before they went to the different stations. The different stations for the kids were coloring, play games, and having an interactive experience. Indigo head office also provided grab bags for the first 50 kids or so through the door and we were lucky enough to show up on time and my niece got one. She was tickled pink and went home super happy. Book readers exist lol, we walk amongst everyone else... we need bookstores!! Shop local and save yourself shipping and just buy off the shelf

I actually like Bentley…read more I don't really shop here for luggage here though. I like Bentley for purses and wallets. They always have great sales on both. They even have some higher end brands of purses. I stopped by here to look at the toques, scarves, and mittens. They have some really cute matching sets that are all on sale right now and they are a great deal! The toque I love is only $10, the matching scarf is $15 and I can't remember the price of the mittens but I know they were on sale too. They were so cute! If you are looking for some cute stuff to keep you warm, check out Bentley - you might be surprised!

We just parked at the back and walked around. The book we were getting signed was displayed right after walking in. There was confusion which way the line was going to pay though. The line when straight back but then it hit a book shelf and people lined up on either side of it. For busy times, it would be great to know where to stand. The layout isn't ideal with the shelves forming a V instead of horizontal lines. Even though the layout isn't great, the store is big and has lots of selection. They had children activities going on and it was great to see staff there and families doing crafts. The book signing line was along the wall by the Starbucks. People would cross to access the magazine area but it wasn't a major inconvenience for everyone. The staff were good to make sure we paid for our book and asked for our names for the book to be personalized. Someone offered to take our photo with the author which was a nice touch. I didn't browse much but did see to the side of the cash area is the stationary and gift area. A great addition to the strip mall but not a place I would frequent on busy weekends.

It is a small newsstand with magazines and newspapers from North America and around the world. I always found the selection be good, and purchased quite a few music magazines here. It also sells cold drinks and snacks like chocolate bars and chips. The store is very small and gets cramped when it is busy so best not to hang out there too long reading the magazines.
