They give endless horrible excuses about how only the "next of kin" decides the obituary's content; then when other next of kin object they move the goalposts and say only the "person in charge" (a.k.a. the person who originally wrote the obituary) decides. No, the person in charge is the owner and he has now ignored the objections of myself, my mother and my aunt after we were very upset and distressed by the contents of an obituary written without our input, and horrifically misconstruing events to a level amounting to libel. I made it very clear we weren't asking to re-write everything, just to remove the one incredibly offensive and untrue paragraph (I have proof and many witnesses) and they still refuse. They also won't allow anyone else to comment on the obituary sharing their story, but the original author is allowed to post libel on Cattermole's website all she wants, apparently. Horrible to enable people to use an obituary of all things to platform their libelous claims, while shutting out all other relatives from the process.

Can't say enough nice things about him and how caring and sensitive he is in handling the rough road of family death. He honestly cares about the folks he cares for, living and dead alike. My father died August 4, 2020. He had already purchased his plot at Cowlitz Memorial Gardens years…read moreand years before. After he was buried, I had ordered an expensive imported granite headstone, knowing that it would be a while before it was installed. I paid for a cement surround to go around the headstone and asked for a planter to be placed in the cement surround. Finally, almost a year later the headstone was placed, but with no cement surround. I had called many times, before memorial day, to no avail. Then I tried sending an emailed. Finally, after several attempts at reaching them, I got a hold of someone right before memorial day 2021 and they said that the were setting the headstone and that the area for the cement surround would be cut and it would be placed soon. He also said that he would place the planter in, at no charge. We went to visit my fathers grave on memorial day. The headsone had been set but it was not level, and there was a big 2 to 3 inch gap all around the headstone. When questioned, the caretaking said the gap was for the cement surround and planter. So now, a year later, on Memorial Day, we went to visit my dad's grave. Mind you, it is now 2022. There is NO cement surround that I PAID for, that the caretaker had supposedly cut the 2 to 3 inch gap around the headstone for, AND the planter that they said that they would do at no charge due to all the problems, was placed in the center of my mom's grave, that is next to my dad and already fully paid for as well. My mom is alive and well. Her grave is empty. Imagine her surprise when she goes to visit dad and there is a planter right smack in the middle of her grave. She asked them, "you put the planter in the middle of my grave. Where am I suppose to go and my headstone?." The response was "oh, don't you worry. We will make room for you." This is the worst cemetery caretakers that I have ever come across. Be wary of this place. Definitely not the kind of people you will want to deal with during the difficult time after loosing a loved one.
